Great place to watch sports, friendly and efficient service. Good bar food and Irish pub faire.

Great drink deals, awesome drinks! In the heart of everything. I loved the Porn Star Martini, 2 for $15!

Stopped in after the mall for a quick bite and we were blown away by how amazing the food was! Highly suggest chicken wings and fish and chips. Great choice of beer as well! Wish we had more time as we would go back for dinner

Stopped here on a whim as we walked by. Really good food and drinks. Cozy too. Service was good

So-so. Perhaps this was a once-off, but these last two experiences here haven't been the greatest. The last two times the beef was a bit tough and chewy. Also, it may be relevant to highlight a 'policy change', which has been in place for a good while, but I never knew about it. I ordered the same meal I've ordered from the beginning and noticed a euro increase on the bill. When I inquired about this, I was told that each side is now 50 cents more. So a tiny sprinkle of lettuce and slice of cheese is 1 Euro. When I asked the general manager about this, initially he said that has been the policy for a short while now. He apologised but then walked away. We finished our meal and as I was leaving I asked for the manager's name, because I wanted to make sure this is a set-in-stone policy. 6-7 of my esteemed colleagues eat lunch here 3 times a week (5 times with the cup on.) Figured they should know they are being charged that, since for them it's often one big tab and they probably don't notice. After mentioning where I worked, he asked specifically what we had on our sandwiches. I had a slice of cheese and she had a sprinkle (and genuinely, it was just a sprinkle) of lettuce. The general manager then said that the new policy was *not* to curtail people getting a bit of cheese or lettuce and that the cashier was being too strict an enforcer. He then re-iterated that this was not the policy and went and retrieved our Euro. I appreciate the good customer service, but when you're out for a meal you shouldn't have to be soldier-vigilant... the cashier should be aware of how the policy is to be implemented. Apparently, fellow yelpers, it is only 50 cent per side if you 'get carried away'. Now, I'm not sure how to quantify getting 'carried away' is, but I guess it isn't a piece of cheese and sprinkle of lettuce!

Don't be fooled by the front, Sinnotts is massive. You could play football in there, show up on a Tuesday night and they mightn't even be that fussed. It gets a mixed crowd that veers a bit too close to the thirty mark for my tastes but a good boozer nonetheless. The place gets rammed at lunch time by a legion of office workers, and don't even bother trying to get served in trackies and runners. A policy which I feel has ageist undertones.

This place was recommended by a guy walking down the street wearing a Cleveland Browns T shirt. He told us they have NFL games on! Turns out to be a great sports bar! They had 2 NFL games on and also Rugby. The place was packed but we found seats at the bar and were promptly attended to. The Smithwicks were cold and they have a great menu...with several vegetarian offerings to boot! We loved it here! I had the veggie burger and Sandi had a veggie curry dish that was very spicy. Glad we went!

Have been here on 2 separate trips to Ireland. Both times I got the nachos. The beer, the atmosphere, and the food are all amazing.

When looking for a traditional restaurant in Dublin, our hotel recommended Bull and Castle. The…read morerestaurant is located within a quieter neighborhood in the city while still walkable to the sights. Far from the crowds of Temple Bar, the restaurant was understated and peaceful. The meal was divine. The restaurant appeared to be a cross between a steakhouse and an Irish pub overing a diverse menu. The restaurant was dark and homey. The staff was attentive and friendly. I'd recommend visiting Bull and Castle during your next trip to Dublin.

Such a change from the last experience a year ago…read more We had 8:30 PM reservations. Arrived around 8:10 and were told to wait at the bar. No problem, it's NYE, we can wait for out booked time. Less than 5 minutes later we were lead to a table, not even time to order a drink! We shared everything. Ordered cocktails to begin with. They were ok, two different old fashioned drinks. We tried to order bone marrow, scallops, tuna tataki and a Caesar salad as starters. They were already out of the bone marrow and scallops. It's a holiday, you know there are reservations... what?! Poor management and planning!! They recommended the lamb kidneys... never had them before, super gross. I'll never do that again. It smelled like urine! We ordered the burger and 14 oz sirloin to share, medium rare on the steak. Polenta fries, and mashed potatoes. The polenta fries were outstanding! The burger was delicious! Smokey flavor, it was great. It came with huge steak fries, I prefer shoestring. The steak was not tender. Had a better steak sandwich at the Morrison for lunch. All in all, I will not be going back nor recommending this place. The wine I ordered never arrived, our water was never refilled. In fact, after the food arrived, we never saw anyone again!! When the check came with an obligatory 12.5% tip I missed it and paid. Once I noticed, I flipped out!! This was the worst service ever!! I double check tipping culture in Ireland before I complain. 10% is good for good service and bad service is ok to leave zero tip. So I asked for it back. They gave me credit for the tip but not the tax on tip. Unimpressed. Won't go again.

The authentic Victorian setting, the Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops, the mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern. The staff are helpful, friendly and patient since their accent is hard to understand sometime. My 1st beer and 1st Irish food, all I can say is what a meal, just simple delish. Being here is just a wondrous experience, the place is cosy, warm and the friendly of the people. So glad I picked this place as my first of Dublin.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.
