Ask for it by name! This place had great food and service for the "nice" restaurant option in the Soaring Eagle Casino (that's not Ruth's Chris). They had a nice diverse menu with plenty of options. I highly recommend as soon as you sit down to get an order of Parker House rolls for the table. It's a great way to start and get some food in your belly! I started with the shrimp cocktail which was great. These weren't giant colossal shrimp, but there were plenty of fresh, peeled cold shrimp with a decent cocktail sauce for dipping. The greens on top had a horseradish flavor which was interesting to say the least. The Onion Soup was also quite delicious with a rich, brown broth loaded with onions, a soggy crouton and plenty of cheese. It was piping hot and hit the spot after freezing all day in the conference center areas of the hotel. Finally, I had the steak sandwich with fries. Man, that was a delicious sandwich with lots of thinly slices ribeye. It was moist, flavorful and the bread was good too. Those fries were also great. They were crispy with the right amount of salt! Yum! I was full from the other items so I could not finish it, but man I wanted to. Others at the table enjoyed the Parker house rolls as well as the Fish and Chips and Salmon dinner. None of us had room for dessert but that tall ass piece of chocolate cake was calling my name! Our server (Liz) was amazing. Very attentive even after working a double. Ordered the Friday "Date night" special. App. Shrimp cocktail. Shrimp was good quality. Cocktail sauce from a jar. Nothing special in the presentation. Just thrown on a plate. App. Spinach dip. Just ok. Similar to what you would get at Applebees. Strip steak, medium. Came out gray looking and rare. Covered in a sweetish gravy‍. Not good. If you want a well seasoned grilled strip steak, this is not it. Sides were just ok. Pesto Pasta papperdelle with shrimp. A bit dry. Good taste but too many pistachios on top. Shrimp was good quality. Dessert. Chocolate cake. Ok. Overall the meal was underwhelming and not worth the pricey final bill. read more

Our group of 6 was seated promptly at our reservation time. My appetizer was a wedge salad and warm rolls. My entree was filet mignon with shrimp, grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. All were very good. One of our party had the prime rib that appeared grey and was said to be cold and undercooked. All other entrees were enjoyed. Everything is a La carte from the wedge salad to any topping you might want on your steak. The desserts are exquisite. The atmosphere is classy with low lighting, comfortable chairs, cloth tablecloths and napkins and elegant flatware. Very clean. Table service was excellent. Pricey. This is truthfully a 3.5 star review-I rounded up:) It was tough to get a reservation, as they're only open certain days. I'd left a message for them on an 'off' day, and when I finally spoke to someone, they had my reservation, but I'd not received a call or email to confirm. Steaks we're good. One entree for our party was wrong, so it had to go back and that person had to wait, of course, for their corrected order. Beverage prices, including wine, is very reasonable, though the selection is not extensive. Staff are nice, though it's not an overly organized operation. It's a steakhouse, so if you're looking for light, vegetable options, or vegan, you'd be best elsewhere . Added sIdes for the steaks are HuGE, so beware more than one person can share one. read more

What gastronomical disaster. My Wifes overpriced prime rib had the appearance of a pounded minute steak. which was at least 40% gristle and fat. The green beans retained their garden crispness by being plated directly from the can. My perfumed rice was cooked sometime during the week and refrigerated and place on the plate. My Mystery vegetable became less of a Mystery when it reminded me of a green hairball my cat extruded last week. The salmon was cooked at the same time as the rice chilled until served. To add insult to injury, the Matri de seated 8 hard of hearing drunks in the main dining room. There appeared to be several side rooms for the brash drunks. My wife assured me that the breakfasts here were great. Correct me if i am wrong but shouldn't Eggs Benedict have a slight lemon flavor in its Hollandaise sauce. I swear it tasted like cinnamon. What distracted from the strange taste was the fact the eggs were so cold, the yolks just sat there when broken. My favorite was the coffee. A poor lonely coffee bean was showed a pot of Luke warm water without any physical contact. Would I eat here again. NEVER read more

February 23, 2025 Had table for 6, the restaurant setting looks amazing first off, but the food is actually sub par. The rolls were great. Everything else was pretty much lackluster, sad to say. Out of 5 different meals, I will grade and explain: All salads were like eating over bleached lettuce, bland, tasteless. Appetizers - white cheddar fondue, this was super gross, the texture of the cheese was like slime, it didn't drip or melt, had zero taste other than ton of garlic, it was awful and I mean awful! Don't even think about this one. I have never seen anything like it. Band bang shrimp - this was the best thing on the table, so there's that. Dinners - #1 - surf and Turf, steak (bite size pieces) was said to be tasty, nothing else worthy of talking about. #2 - New York strip, steak was tough, no seasoning, potato balls we bland tasteless. #3 - Prime rib, super thin slice, this was said to be OK, but for $45 super thin cut. Baked potato just ok, broccoli over cooked. #4 - Fried chicken, was said to be good, nothing else worthy of talking about #5&6 - Tempura Walleye, fish was good, breading wasn't tempura, frittes (French fries) with garlic butter, cooked in old grease, couldn't taste garlic butter and were not hot. Coleslaw was basically shredded red cabbage with like no dressing, very dry and tasteless. Was a huge bummer, thank God for the roll and fish. Need to have some quality control and if someone is paying $45 for a dinner, at least make it great and tasty. They weren't even busy. Waitress was Amazing! Best thing about the whole situation was it was free due to coupons we had. All of the staff were so friendly. Our waitress Madison was so sweet and friendly. She has a great sense of humor and was very efficient. We felt our dinner choices were delicious consisting of salmon, pappardelle with chicken, filet and a shaved prime rib sandwich. The only downside was the fries were very salty and you have to pay for a bread basket. Overall, we had a great meal. My buddy and I were just here for dinner yesterday and everything we had was delicious and perfectly done. Not sure what happened between then and all the not-so-good reviews before mine, but we had zero issues. We were able to sit at the bar and dine because we hadn't made reservations and the earliest they had was 9pm (we asked around 7pm). It wasn't surprising because the casino was packed and it was a holiday weekend. Because we knew those two things going in, and with not having reservations before hand, there was zero reason to have an issue with not being able to be seated at a table just from walking in. We were waited on by one of the nicest bartenders I've had in a long time, whose name I believe was Onica. She was funny, great at the recommendations, and made me a great Maple Bourbon Mash drink (I think that was the name lol). I had the filet and my friend had the Berkshire pork chop. Both were cooked perfectly to our requests and the sides the came with were great as well. Honestly, not a thing to complain about and again, Onica was awesome and made the experience better. Best get reservations if you can. If not, do not whine and moan if you walk in and are greeted with a 2-3 hour wait time, especially if the casino is packed. read more

Ummmmm joined the dinner late, so I can't comment on the total experience but the food was decent. This is one of the nicer places actually located within the casino. Wine was good, but they close at 10pm, which I thought was odd; granted my group did walk in 10 minutes before they closed. Went with filets; they were cooked good and as expected. For me to even pay attention to food while I'm playing poker says a lot. The food was amazing and the service was on point! The only criticism I have is the Décor. They would be a 5 star joint if it was a little more intimate inside. Dim lighting with candles and some soft music in the background to drown out the slot machines would be perfect. The service was prompt & professional The Menu had variety & the waitres took time to explain each dish of our Inquiry. Drinks are Pepsi products, & they have a full bar Premium wine & beer list. We chose chips & spinach dip that was excellent My wife had steak & Mushroom soup that was Tasty enough & a generous enough portion to stand alone As a meal. For our main course My wife had a filet mignon that was perfectly cooked It was juicy & well seasoned along with a Lobster Tail The Lobster was a generous size & the Flavor was ocean fresh my wife's plate arrived with mashed potatoes, & Fresh carrots. I have mixed feelings about our experience at this restaurant. I am hoping that by the time I summarize, I will feel confident about my rating. We came in shortly after 5pm to have dinner before the event we were attending. The host staff was extraordinarily friendly and welcoming. Since both, the restaurant and the event hall are located at a casino resort, I have to give some allowance to the smokiness of the environment, which is not easy to do for a non-smoker. The restaurant does have a non-smoking section, but I did not feel it made a difference. I was, however, surprised that vaping was allowed in this section. Our waiter took our drink order and when I inquired about it 15 minutes later I was told the bartender was still watching how to make mine on Youtube, so it is safer to just order what is on the drink menu. I am happy we took our waiter up on his appetizer recommendation and ordered the Roasted Cauliflower with whipped Feta and Cucumbers. It was delicious! For our main courses I ordered the Pastrami Spice rubbed Bison Strip (medium rare) and my wife ordered the Filet Mignon (well done). Both were cooked perfectly to order. My husband and I attended an event at Soaring Eagle and wanted to get a bite to eat afterwards. This restaurant was not our first choice, but the other place was crowded and it was getting late. When we stepped inside, we were surprised to see there weren't that many folks dining but there was an overabundance of staff. The menu had a variety of dishes and prices were primarily in the $$$ range. We ordered the Japanese pot stickers, prime rib, mashed and baked potato and green beans. Everything is à la carte. The pot stickers were just ok. I thought the filling could have had more flavor, but the texture was nice. It was accompanied with an edamame and cabbage garnish with an Asian dressing. It was very good. I could have eaten that by itself. Just before our entree was to arrive, the waiter came to our table with what looked like a cigar box. He opened it and there was six steak knives in it. I thought he was trying to sell them. My husband and I both looked at him like okaaaay. We were rather confused. He tells us these were the steak knives for our prime rib and to take one. I thought this was so lame. Just bring the stupid knife with the meat. We didn't need the lame presentation. The knife was nice, but not that nice. My husband and I still laugh about it. We ordered our prime rib medium well. They were well done in my opinion. Looking back, I should have returned, but my husband and I were both extremely tired and just wanted to quickly eat and get to our hotel. I've had much better prime rib. My husband found his to be salty and I didn't find it had much flavor and was rather dry. We also couldn't decipher how it was prepared. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. The string beans could have been prepared better. The pointy ends were still intact. No one wants to eat those; the tips are inedible. Lastly, my husband asked the waiter about their desserts. He comes back with a small menu for him to look at. He ordered the almond joy cheesecake which was the best part of the meal. Very creamy and not too sweet. When we were about to leave, we were shocked to see the waiter carry a dessert tray to one of the other tables. The waiter never offered to show us the dessert tray. We were very offended. Needless to say, we will not be returning. This place needs to stop trying to be a fake elegant restaurant and work on being the real thing. read more

Out of all the places to eat at the Soaring Eagle Casino this one looked the most appetizing. It also happened to be one of the more expensive ones too. The ambiance of the place is pretty consistent with the decor of the casino. It is located off the back wing of the casino, so it is somewhat hidden. We had gotten there before the dinner rush at around 5pm so it was pretty quiet, but within half an hour to 45 minutes, a lot of people started coming in. Thus, making the noise level quite high. The restaurant is split level, flanked by two more private dining areas on each side. Outside of those areas, there is a stretch of seating. Quite a nice design. We looked through the menu, and decided upon the Smoked Salmon and Crab Cakes ($6.95) appetizer, Broiled 8 oz. Filet ($36.95), and Broiled 16 oz. New York Strip Steak ($39.95) entrees. The crab cakes were mediocre at best with no real smoked salmon mixed in with the crab. Lis H. was correct on the fact that the breading is a bit heavy and didn't create a nice balance with the filling. I felt the filling was a bit on the drier side too, and not sure if they were freshly made or whether they had been made a while ago. Flavor was okay, but I would not order this again. The real stars were the meats. The filet and NY Strip Steak were cooked very well at medium rare, and had a nice flavor to it. Still it doesn't compare to the meats you can get at Capital Grille, but it was pretty good nonetheless. The mashed potatoes served with it were great, perfect consistency, and a nice smoky garlic flavor. The broccolini was nothing to go crazy over but nicely prepared. Add the fact that you have a few bread loaves and you are covered with your carbs and protein for the evening. We passed on dessert as we could not finish our entrees. If you order Pellegrino here, just be warned that they are the small bottles. We thought they had the bigger bottle, and so we ordered just one. Once our waiter brought just one tiny bottle, we laughed and had to order another one. :) Overall, the meal was a satisfying one. Pricey for the meats, but it comes with the territory that you're eating inside a casino. We were happy walking out of there and ready for the evening's concert. First of all the Steak tartar is the worst I have ever had in my entire life they literally took a slab of meat chopped it into large clumps & rolled it in some BS dressing, not sliced finely tenderized in the least. The quail egg on top was cooked & it is not supped to be! Basically I could not even attempt to eat this... for an entree I ordered the $43 lobster + crab ravioli and it was considerably disappointing, there were 2 small raviolis with cheese sauce and a small pinch of crab and the lobster tail was very small, oh and my $5 asparagus was burnt and in brown juice! extremely disappointing, this is not a 'REAL' steak house and the prices are ridiculous for the quality! Zero stars need to be available for this place..... first off you would expect for the 5 star prices they charge you would get some sort of quality. From start to finish this had to be by far the worst meal experience I've ever encountered. Our server Bobby was a joke and acted like he was a hot shot. It took 15 minutes to get our bill after eating food I wouldn't serve a peasant. In fact we couldn't even eat all of our food. A friend and I ate here recently and it was better than I remembered. I had the signature filet and it was amazing, the prices are high, but at least this recent visit seemed worth it. Service was great this time. Salads are still extra, I decided to just order an appetizer instead of a salad because they were similarly priced and an appetizer sounded better. I'm not a fan of casinos, but one benefit of going to Soaring Eagle Casino with my casino-loving partner is earning points for discounts in the casino's related businesses. And once in awhile we cash in our points for a nice meal at Siniikaung. The food isn't up to the level of, say, The Brass Cafe' in downtown Mt. Pleasant (our favorite local restaurant EVAH) in terms of creativity or use of fresh/local food, but it's still good food; and the restaurant does at least make an effort to use regional ingredients in some of its dishes. The emphasis is on meat, and portions are huge -- I'm sure all part of the living-large casino atmosphere -- but we've enjoyed small dishes and soups here, and also note that the side dishes are as well made as the main dishes, which to us is the sign of a restaurant that knows what it's doing. While sometimes casino restaurants have a fairly static menu, we've seen seasonal change-ups here, which is nice. And in our experience the Siniikaung staff has always shown the utmost courtesy and professionalism -- something that's, frankly, rare in outstate Michigan save for a few really good restaurants that make an effort to train their staffs well. (And bonus points to the staff for having to deal with some customers who -- how can I say this nicely? -- are challenged by the task of eating/behaving in a manner appropriate to the level of food and service.) Downers: The food is spendy if you don't have accumulated casino points. And because smoking is allowed, even if you're in the non-smoking section (very hard to score a non-smokring seating on a busy day) you're getting snootfuls of smoke from the diners around you. No matter how well prepared food is, having to breathe other people's stale smoke detracts from it. Is it worth a couple of hours at the one-armed bandits in order to get a good deal on a Siniikaung meal? Yes.. Would we eat there without the draw of the casino? Probably not. read more

Not sure if that was the kitchen or servers fault. My favorite steakhouse in MI is Judsons in Grand Rapids. I know and love good food. I don't mind paying for the best, but this was far from it. My ribeye came sliced by the kitchen ( no bueno). It did not taste flavorful as most ribeyes are. It was dry and bland. It certainly was not cooked medium. I've had much better. This place is as good as it gets in Mount Pleasant. While I am not a fan of the casino necessarily, this restaurant is wonderful. Thank goodness for Bobby our server, otherwise the dinner would have been a complete disaster. Ordered the Surf and Turf... soggy, soft shrimp and a piece of beef (not sure what it was besides a hockey puck) that I ordered medium rare..came to the table well done and drenched in worchestershire sauce...Horrible. Bobby brought me another meal, the Kobe beef steak.. again, not medium rare, but not yet a hockey puck... the meat was so tough and full of gristle... certainly not Kobe beef... and not worth the $50 price. We just let the meal be... paid our $112 bill and vowed to never, ever, ever....have dinner here again! We will just have Birthday dinner closer to home today and celebrate at a place where they know how to grill a steak! read more

This place does not take reservations, so be prepared to wait at least an hour. When we arrived and asked how long the wait was, the hostess gave this "Yeah we're really busy and I enjoy telling people it's a long wait" smirk. So we sat at the bar while we waited. They don't serve food at the bar, not sure why. We were greeted, and I use that term loosely, by a very unkept, abrasive woman who took our drink order and then informed us that she was only a cashier so we'd have to wait for the one bartender for the entire restaurant to make our drinks. It was like pulling teeth to get her to turn the bar TV on. We were finally seated in low set, uncomfortable chairs. The bread was basic store bought rolls. We ordered the crab cake appetizer. It came out quickly and was very good. We finished our appetizer before getting our drinks, again there's only one bartender. I ordered the pork chop with mushroom bread pudding. The pork chop was tender but bland and the bread pudding was very dry. Our table service was great and my husband enjoyed his Kobe fillet, but the first impression, lack of customer service before being seated, and the fact that you're paying good money for a meal and get very little was disappointing. Oh, and that cashier cashes out all of the tables, so be prepared to wait for your credit slip or change. read more

So....I go to Chicago a LOT and consider myself a bit of a novice foodie. I've also been to the Soaring Eagle many times for concerts (live in MI).... I always dine here when I do. I simply must comment that they are consistently good. Not always "to die for" like the Chicago Chop House is....but then again, the steak alone doesn't cost $75, either! Tonight I had the salmon and my hubby the pork chops (his fave)...they were both awesome! The couple next to us was bitchin' about the way their steaks were cooked, so maybe chefs were struggling with that tonight, but we were totally satisfied with our meals.
