I was an 80's child so I grew up in a town with a five and dime that I adored so much everytime mom and dad would take me there. Sine's sadly wasn't my hometown five and dime as the owner of my hometown store passed away and the store folded shortly afterwards. Finding anything similar nearby was hard to find and bigger iniatives like dollar trees didn't feel the same. As much as visiting Sine's excited me, it also feels so strange and impractical now traveling to a five and dime now. As it's on the way to my New Hope adventures, best I can do is make a day trip out of it. It's a nice stop on the way. But it's still a five and dime. Please don't make a special trip, though I get it... that trip can feel like a novelty. Here, you can still find GI Joe's and Barbie to model airplanes and halycon Christmas lights and you don't have to feel pressured by cashless transactions. You can introduce your child to a more halcyon time in your childhood by finding toys then even household items and greeting cards so it can still be a one stop. And just like at Woolworth's, an active lunch counter is still here... at least until two or three. With how expensive it is to run a business, especially in Upper Bucks County, I am still impressed how these beautiful small ones still stay in the game without adjusting price increases turning away their target consumer. If any of this makes your eyes twinkle and your heart smile, go while you can. Patronize small along main street where Sine's still literally sits on main street in Quakertown. read more

Sine's is a heartfelt treasure ~ from the moment you enter, the feelings of sentiment, nostalgia and history most definitely take hold.  Shelving filled with antiques surround the store's upper walls, and the inventory here is about as varied as you could possibly imagine.  A long, old fashioned soda counter with comfortable looking bar stools appeared inviting, complete with daily advertised ice cream and lunch specials.  Hardware, toys, greeting cards, knick knacks, candy, Christmas/seasonal decor, paper goods.   The model airplanes in the window, dangling from the ceiling are pretty amazing. Some of the empty display tables had me wishing there was a lot more inventory in the main section of Sine's...an adjoining room was more of a museum with a wonderful,  interesting display of local history ~ pennants, newspaper articles, photographs, artifacts.  It was disappointing to see the Christmas section of the shop dark and from appearances, closed on the day we visited.  As long as you keep in mind that this is more of a 'look at and appreciate' sort of visit and less of a shopping experience, you will not be disappointed. read more

What a place! I had never heard of Sine's 5 & 10 Cent Store prior to my visit as it had not come up in any of my searches. What attracted my friend and I was the large display of model airplanes in the window. When we walked in, we both went "Is that a lunch counter?" and it was. We would have had lunch here without question, but had already eaten. Interior is what you would expect form a 5 & 10, they have a little bit of everything. It's part hardware store, part local history museum, part Christmas store. Main room has hardware store items, glassware, toys, and model kits, along with the lunch counter. They also have a display of old cameras and a model train. The side room contains local history items, including various news articles, jackets from organizations, historical images, and some random antique toys. The back room has Christmas items and as we were there in the off season, the selection felt very random. They do accept credit cards except at the lunch counter, which is cash only. Parking is on the street or in a lot down the street. Overall, this is a true gem with a ton of local flavor, and if you are in Quakertown, Sine's 5 & 10 Cent Store is a must stop. read more

Childhood staple! We love to go here, there is ALWAYS something to buy, like silly putty, penny candy, or vintage cards, special hard to find Christmas light bulbs, snow sleds, watering can, literally such great treasures. Sitting at the counter for a milkshake is fun and the small stools for kids are always a hit! read more

Went to Sines today 8/29/2025. This is a great five and dime store. It has so many items to choose from along with a real soda fountain and luncheonette. It was founded in 1909 and has been in the same family for years. It is open from 8am to. 3pm for breakfast and lunch with a limited menu. See website. Lunch service stops at 145pm. They have the best hamburgers and their milk shakes are delicious. They also have a big Christmas section with lots if unusual items and a train that runs on the ceiling of the store. What a fun place to visit. Park on the street for free. read more

I remember going in there as a child back in the 60's. After many many years I decided to just stop in to see and reminisce and sit at the counter and have a good cup of coffee...well, good it wasn't! Sorry it is what it was. They could be more inviting/friendly, but can see where they might suffer from burn out being in the business so long and are probably just plain tired of it. I might give them another try and actually try some food, if I ever go back. Honestly the food isn't why I'd ever step foot in the place again. I would not say they are well stocked, but I will say that it is a neat old place and fun to take a walk down memory lane and see a piece of living retail history. read more

Walk in. Go ahead. This place is a time machine. Park on the street & drop your dime in the meter. Yup, they got those in Quaker town. During the holidays, they cover them up. Won't cost ya nothin'. Before you walk in the store, window shop. Your eyes will widen. Yeah, you used to put together those plane models, didn't you? Now, step through the door & smell those onions frying, What? Look to your right & you see the grill and the sit down counter. Those vinyl covered spinning round stools are there so you can get comfy. Set a spell & order yourself some breakfast or a sandwich for lunch. Maybe a cheeseburger. Ice cream sundae for dessert. Yum. Okay, now you've got to peel yourself up & start shopping. That creaking noise you hear? Don't worry. It's only the floorboards running through the whole store. Been there for a while. Keep going. Wait, what's that? Ho ho, back up and take a look see. Well I'll be. It's a candy counter where you can buy single Tootsie Pops, Mallo Cups, Sky Bars, Zero Bars, Licorice Whips and oh yeah, you can buy the candy you want in bulk. There is a weight scale & she will gladly help you out. Want a taste? Ask. Everything you every need, want or remember is here. Can you remember far enough back and can visualize the old "Speigel" Catalogs? Well, its like that, only in person. They have underwear, cotton peds, slinkys, lamp oil, rag rugs, greeting cards, model cars and planes, wiffle balls, leather wallets, granny panties, coin purses, hair nets, combs, percolator coffee pots, doilies, moth balls, american flags, chalk, pots and pans, rulers, yo-yos, steel wool pads, nutcrackers, coloring books and on and on we go. This place is a time capsule. A walk back in time. A treasure. There is a lunch counter where ladies serve you stuff like macaroni and tuna salad. And guess what, it tastes like I would imagine food to taste like back then-- sort of strange and undesirable. But, I like it. In a weird way, I like it. This place is great! The atmosphere is unlike any other, its like stepping back in time. All the food and milkshakes are delicious, the people are friendly, there are great local antiques around to look at & plenty of interesting items to buy including a whole Christmas room candy aisle and retro toys. I think it's worth hours of driving to experience this classic 5&10 store. read more

Great place for a quick bite, food is fresh and good and service is spectacular and reasonable priced...menu is limited with all the classics, coffee taste so good coming from a peculator...should you become a local, you can hang your mug up ready for your next cup...local conversation include music, farming and marriage...Love this place! read more

I was so excited to visit a place that I have not been to for forty years. I drove 90 minutes to get here because there are so few left. I had told my daughter for over ten years that one day I'd take her to a 5 & 10 if they still existed. So at 1:50 almost an hour and a half before they closed I sat down and was greeted with a nasty attitude and an announcement that they did not serve anything past 1:45. Really?!!!!!. This is not the 5 & 10 of yester year. I left absolutely disgusted. I guess memories are what's left for places like this, but if you are looking for the good old days don't go here. read more

This place is a blast from the past. This is an old counter seating 5 & 10. They've removed 2 out of 3 stools which makes for only a few seats during the corona virus. The food is cooked on an old grill that's over 100 years old. The menu is limited, but the nostalgia is priceless. read more

Absolutely horrible. Don't think this is a throw back in time. It should just be thrown back!!! We walked in at 10:48... they arrogantly stated they serve breakfast only till 10:45. It's dirty!
