7/18/2026 Palm tavern was supposedly bought out yet again and becomes the Southern Kitchen. Well it was my birthday and my friend wanted to take me out. I said this place, Palm Tavern, had been revamped. Louisiana style. We were both so stoked. Got there. Sat at the bar. Some regulars (you can tell regulars) and I would say maybe 4 tables behind us. No one had any thing more than water to drink. Bar gal gave us menus and from there we proceeded to watch her take care of the "regulars". We are not dumb. They were regulars. When she stood in front of them waiting for them to finish their beer while we don't even have water let alone a drink...REGULARS. We walked out witnessing the bartender all but screwing the regulars and ignoring the rest of the patrons. The couple behind us said they were ready to walk out. Since the new owners took over, this place has become a disappointment. These are the issues: 1) Front door handle which was new not that long ago is now dangling on the outside and missing completely on the inside for 3+ weeks. Buy a new handle and install it -- it is not that hard! 2) The Facebook page has no new posts. Either create a new page if you do not have access or post updates. Says they have live music on a Wednesday, but how do you know if that is accurate or who is playing. 3) The website has not been updated. The menu on the site is not up to date. Some items are no longer available. Was told a new menu was coming in 2 weeks and that was 3 weeks ago - still nothing. 4) Went in for the clam's special and no clams! Either no one knows how to order, or it is a bait and switch on their sign. 5) Took forever for food to come out. 3 burgers and a chicken sandwich should not take 45 minutes. Especially. when you are the only table. 6) I think the management is afraid to engage with their customers. Would probably not like to hear what people think, and you are not going to build a business that way. The only positive was that once the food arrived, it was good. Hopefully they get their act together or sell to someone who cares. This area needs a tavern like what we had with the previous owner. read more

They were closed for emergency repairs. They reopened the day before Mother's Day never been there. They were super packed. I got a cheesesteak the nachos and mozzarella sticks. It took about 45 minutes from ordering till getting the food. Cheesesteak was very good. Nachos were very good. Did not care for the mozzarella sticks they were very dry sauce that came with was good the next day on Mother's Day wanted to get my brother a cheesesteak and bring it to the hospital so he could have it to eat. He immediately told me there was hardly any cheese on the steak at all hardly any red sauce on it and the roll was stale a complete 180 from the day before very disappointed. The thing is on Sunday. They were not packed at all. There is maybe five people in the pub so they were not very busy. I probably will not be going back there again. read more

The Palm tavern is awesome! This is my go to place for wings. Kim is a wonderful server/bartender and the atmosphere is pretty chill.

Literally still one of the best places around town. The owner is very friendly anytime my family comes in. The servers have been very accommodating and patient with our toddler. Now they have a wall in the restaurant they are having diners sign and it's a nice, unique touch to the tavern. The appetizer pretzel is HUGE and tastes wonderful (it seems they have updated this recipe from last year and it's great!). read more

We went here finally after over a decade of living the area and we're pleasantly surprised. The menu was limited but varies so we had no issues ordering. The food was pretty great and the service was friendly! We found the prices to be extremely reasonable as well! The waitress mentioned they only had one cook in the kitchen that night but food still came out fast, fresh, and hot. Only reason I have 4 stars was that we ate outside and the porch could definitely use some work. We had to wipe out own table down and all of the tables wobbled pretty badly. We had to be careful eating so that drinks didn't tip over. Inside was more of a standard bar scene with music playing a bit too loud for our taste. We will definitely go back. read more

This was the only place we could find open on July 4th this year, and I'm glad we did. What we found was a really nice local bar, with friendly regulars, staff and great food (The Brussels sprouts were amazing!). Also had a TouchTunes jukebox which is always a bonus. Maybe it was just a bad day, I hope so. We have been here multiple times in the past few years and always had good experiences---but not this time. The service was poor with an "I don't care" attitude from the waitress who never returned to ask if we needed or wanted anything else. The food came out in spurts. There were three of us and all ordered burgers with FF in-lieu of the standard chips. We all got an order of FF at least 20 minutes before our burgers showed up---which also contained the chips. I ordered my burger medium rare and it was medium well and dry--as were the other two. We will likely try once more in the future but this was not a good omen. Decided to go here with friends to check out their wings. When we pulled up there were several people outside smoking marijuana, we later noticed that some of those people were staff members at the bar, one was an older gentleman who another guy at the bar said was the owner or a manager. We decided to play it safe and just order some (meatless) appetizers. The mozzarella sticks and pierogis i ordered were still cold in the center, i imagine following food safety and taking temperatures is difficult if one is stoned. This is a great place with fantastic food and top shelf service. The trip finding this establishment was a bit lengthy but at no fault of their own. This experience was well worth the driving time and if I could give a higher rating, I wouldn't think twice. There was a heap of some kind of fermented fruit with dead fruit flies in it at the bottom of my drink glass. I was very much in shock since I didnt notice until I had finished my drink, it was completely unacceptable. The lemon on my Husbands water had mold on the peel. i don't know how long they are leaving fruit out but I'm guessing it's not sanitary. When i asked to speak to someone the owner came out in a Hawaiian t-shirt and was offended that i brought it to his attention. He told me to leave the establishment immediately, i felt uncomfortable because i am hispanic and I heard bar patrons call us racial slurs on our way out, I did not feel safe walking to my vehicle. read more

As soon as I walked in there was a drunk who yelled at me, " welcome to the Palm tavern, sit wherever you like, the waitress will be right with you ", All the other drunks then began yelling and laughing at my wife and I as we walked in. We sat down and the dining area was empty, I wonder why. I asked the waitress if the drunk guy yells at every customer walking in and she said, " oh he's a staple here". A drunk dude screaming at customers is your staple. Guess they don't have a manager to flag drunks. Bread and eggs are staples, not drunk dudes who had a beer for the first time. We ate, all pissed off and left. So I walked in, and got pissed immediately, and won't ever come back. It's a shame, this place started off so good, then they gave up. The beer selection sucks now. This is the first review I have ever written for a business and probably wouldn't have today except for the awful service I received from the bartender/waitress. She would not adjust our bill for a mistake she made with the quantity of wings ordered for take out. She had an attitude that did not go unnoticed. Once we got home and opened the containers, a whole batch of 12 wings were burnt. The rest of our food was good, but I won't go back any time soon if at all mainly because I don't appreciate having to pay for something I did not order and also receiving an "I don't care what you say you ordered" attitude from the bartender. I had a Great time in one of my old haunts . They remodeled this place in to a great place to be let alone eat . The food is way beyond bar food . The food is awesome as well as the service. The Palm Tavern is way way more then a neighborhood bar . They CLEANED IT UP for the better ! We plan on having many more meals here . Keep up the great work . Very Happy read more

Great place! Amazing food, bartender was superb, and they have a special menu that benefits a local patron currently battling cancer.

We were coming here somewhat regularly up until maybe 10 months or so ago. Since one of their managers left for another opportunity, it has gone down hill & it is such a shame. The beer selection had enough variety to keep us coming back & the food is good. (We preferred a previous menu though) We have come back a few times since then but were disappointed to see mostly all IPAs on tap. Nothing on the darker side at all during winter months is odd. To top it off, we were shocked to see that this is really no longer a family friendly place when we noticed one of the things listed on the chalkboard in the corner! The fact that they are having a bikini contest on Super Bowl Sunday is plain old trashy! The chances of us returning are slim to none. Such a shame really. read more

Our first visit ...(we recently opened our business in the area) four of us stopped in for lunch after a busy morning working. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly bartender, Kim, who also served as our waitress. She answered all of our questions about the menu. She recommended the wings as an appetizer and they were delicious, perfect serving size for a table of four, very well prepared and the BBQ sauce was tasty. The Cheese steak that she claimed "is the best", lived up to the hype, plentiful meat, with just the right amount of cheese on a very fresh roll. The pizza was prepared as we asked for it... very well done... tasty sauce and plentiful cheese. The ambiance is quirky and cool... the walls are intersting as they are decorated by patrons artwork, messages etc... we were encouraged to make our mark (they even provide markers for you to do so). We appreciated the patriotism when we noticed the American Flag prominently displayed in its case with the owners Fathers photo. Kim, our waitress was THE BEST, she was helpful, gave us lots of info on the Taverns events etc... had a great sense of humor and made us feel welcome and at home. We will definitely add the Palm Tavern to our regular weekly rotation for lunch. We look forward to trying out more items off the menu. Awesome beef stew! We came here on a karaoke night and it was a blast! The atmosphere was so fun. Even though we aren't regulars it felt like we were! This restaurant is worth traveling for. We were in the area from California visiting my Mother-in-law and after eyeing The Palm Tavern's delicious meals on their facebook page, we had to go taste the food for ourselves. We had heard the burgers were fabulous but I can attest to several other dishes, from entrees to desserts, that were wonderful. We were even lucky enough to get to chat with the restaurant's owner and learn a little about The Palm Tavern's history, and the fun events the restaurant holds weekly, like karaoke and trivia nights. We stopped here after skiing at Bear Creek and it is the perfect Apres Ski for food and drinks. The front porch is great and the inside is completely renovated. Nice selection of beers and drinks and the food is fantastic. The wings are really good and the hand cut fries are amazing! we got the Roast Beef and the Chicken Parm sandwiches which were both excellent. First time checking out the new Palm Tavern, and I left quite disappointed. The only beers on tap are IPAs and the basic domestics, no real variety. After you settle for whatever is on tap you'll get to enjoy the bar which is located a step away from the front door, so it gets a bit cold in the winter. The food seems to be a bit small portioned considering the price is a bit above average, but the truffle oil fries I ordered were tasty. My buddy ordered the buffalo mac & cheese which he also said was good. The menu, like the beer, is also limited. The entrees, appetizers, and deserts are all on a single double sided sheet with no more than a dozen options on each side. Parking is also very tough. There are only about 10 spaces at the restaurant, all overflow parking is across the busy route 29 in an unlit stone lot. So if you have trouble getting around this may be something you want to take into consideration. In what may have been a one off situation we were not able to get the hockey game on any of the televisions, which are quite small. The bartender couldn't figure out how to work the remote, so we ended up watching the game on our cell phones; that defeated the point of going out. Needless to say we left after one period and relocated to another bar down the street. I probably won't be headed back to The Palm Tavern for quite a while. read more

My wife and I have gotten takeout from this place many times and it was always good until this past friday. I ordered a medium burger, my wife well done, both were hockey pucks charred beyond edibility. Basket of fries were a soggy mess, a garden worm would have been more rigid. The burgers were supposed to come with the usual tavern fries, ours came with straight up crappy utz potato chips. The only thing good was the funnel cake fries, but apparently they don't give you dipping sauce with them anymore. I'll spend the extra few minutes to go to Spinnerstown Hotel next time, this was a really poor quality meal for $60. read more

They did a beautiful job remodeling. When I first started going there about 6 months ago the food was fantastic. I was recommending the place to family and friends. Not sure what happen but the food went down hill. Everything is over cooked, burnt, hard, can even east it. If it was for the service and trivia I would not patronize the business.
