Sides were sweet potato fries, a potato, corn on the cob (same size cut of corn cob as the potato pictured, potato and corn both $1.95 if ordered separately), and coleslaw. The coleslaw leans sour and watery. The fish n' chips was "alright", "not bad", and "better than frozen store bought". The fish was most likely cod or another cheaper whitefish. The consensus here was that Slackwater's is much better. However they gave us one extra fish, and there was also quite a lot of sweet potato fries. This was enough to split it all in half and get two meals out of it, which is the reason for an extra star. The sweet potato fries were as expected. The crab legs were incredibly underwhelming. Now if it was only me I'd have opted for the seasoned garlic butter but I don't really believe that would have made a difference. Crab itself, by itself, has a lovely flavor that butter is supposed to just elevate. You absolutely CANNOT convince me they use real butter. It was so yellow and reminded me of movie theater butter, except that it was bland as hell, and I think it made the CRAB bland. YIKES. Not to mention after an HOUR out it never even began to solidify at all. Also for that price honestly I shouldn't be sitting there cracking the crab legs myself. As Islanders we make crab at home semi-regularly and could've bought two whole crabs and made them a lot more flavorful. I'm further very sure they don't use real butter because they also gave us two containers of what I assume is supposed to be cinnamon honey butter. We didn't order rolls so I don't know why. But I toasted a piece of plain white bread to spread it on and it was just cinnamon oil and again extremely bland. By that point I thought, "do I have covid?" No, I just have garbage on toast.

I got 1lb of shrimp, with the head off, 1/2 pound of black mussels, and then they include sausage, corn, and potatoes. I got a mix of all the seasonings/sauces and a medium spice level. The flavor was so good and it's so fun dipping everything into the sauce before eating it. I also ordered a side of white rice to add my sauce to as well - always a must! The shrimp was juicy and tasted very fresh. The mussels also tasty fresh and did not have a sour or fishy taste. Everything was very yummy! I can't wait to come back! If you arrive before 3:00 pm, do yourself a favor and order from the combo lunch menu. For a good price, you get miso soup, white rice, pork gyoza, and tempura vegetables, and then choose two items from a list that includes chicken, rolls, and sashimi. The gyoza and tempura alone are worth calling out, both done well. I went with the spicy tuna roll and steak teriyaki and did not regret either choice. Now for the rolls. The Tsunami Roll is the signature and it earns that title, order it without hesitation. The Spicy Masa and Fire Breathing Dragon round out my personal top three and I have yet to be disappointed by any of them. The two areas where they could level up: the wait for food is longer than the lunch setting calls for, so come with patience and plan accordingly. And for a restaurant with rolls this photogenic, a printed menu with photos would go a long way.
