I've visited Simply Unwine three times; the most recent for a karaoke night with family. They have a good selection of wines, but my preference is their mocktails. Food: The Atlantic salmon was a little overcooked and the risotto was more like a couscous. The sauce for the braised shrimp could go on just about anything (yum!). I enjoyed the curry dusted tuna, but would suggest they serve the tuna steaks carved. The staff is friendly and the space is always clean. A great intimate vibe whether it's a date night, group, or solo experience. I didn't have any issues as a walk-in, but I would suggest making a reservation for their live music nights (especially on the weekends). read more

Great place for a girls night! I made a reservation online over a month in advance as I planned on having a larger party. The day of, I had to adjust the final head count and they were very accommodating on the phone. We arrived to a beautifully arranged reserved dining table and were seated immediately. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed their dinner menu and wine all night. The bottles were half off that wednesday night which made it even better! Some of the food we ordered: -salad: yummy -salmon dish: excellent -shrimp: was a little soupy but good -steak: flavorful but a little over done -broccolini: my fave and cooked just right We enjoyed a variety of their red and white wines. Loved the many options for cocktails and wine. Some menu items I saw on previous Yelp reviews weren't available (chicken lollipops-hoping they bring that back next time we come) and they were also out of a certain mocktail my pregnant friend was hoping to try. We were so excited to try out this new spot. We've been driving past this lovely little place for the last couple of months and we decided tonight was the night. I made a reservation through their website on Saturday and when I called to change the time- the young lady mentioned their website was having some issues and they hadn't received my reservation but she was kind enough to set it up. Clean, beautiful, lounge vibe decor. Really nice. Very chic inside. Impressive. The hostess kindly walked me to our table and explained the wine machine and offered me a menu. I saw for 12 minutes or so waiting on my friend- nobody greeted me or offered any water. There were only 5 customers in the establishment. After my friend arrived a young lady quickly gave us menus and hurriedly explained the wine machine and walked away- she came back later and said "since you just got here I'll give you some time" I asked for some water. A few moments later a young man came by and was very nice- we ordered some fries- the menu priced them at $8- I asked if they could make them truffle fries (we had seen some other Yelp reviews with menu photos which offered these) he said yes and did not mention the $8 UPCHARGE! The fries had the faintest taste of truffle- What!!!!!!!!! $8 for that?!! A drop of truffle oil? The same price as the fries themselves? Almost the same price as an entree?!!!!! We got swindled. We were too stunned to speak when we saw the bill- mouths on the floor- we would have said no if he would have told us that was the up-charge!!!! That wasn't right or fair. The fries were not piping hot or a large quantity. So sad. We ordered the ahi tuna and the rib eye- they were accompanied by brussel sprouts for both entrees. We split the entrees and they were ok. My friend did not like the ahi tuna- it may or may not have been frozen. The ribeye was not seasoned properly and needed more of the sauce that was underneath the steak. We also ordered the chocolate cinnamon cake for dessert/ $16!!!!!! We chose to order this knowing the price- good size but way too pricey for the a slice of cake with marshmallows on top- the marshmallows were inedible because of the char from the flame- they tasted like gasoline. Some possible changes: - we needed steak knives -the forks were too small for entrees - service could have been better initially when were seated/ but the young man, hostess and lady that I assume was the manger or owner were nice. -music was a bit loud for the number of customers dining -appetizers we saw on other Yelp reviews are no longer offered- we wanted to try the lollipops or deviled eggs- maybe bring back some small appetizers like bread basket or salads. -totally ruined the night after the unannounced up charge of the disappointing fries. Wanted to support a local small business. I understand they are new and working out a few things- but I have a to say it was not a good night for us. The atmosphere ,food, and ambiance is amazing. The music was a vibe. Upon entering you are greeted by amazing hostess, they will explain to you how the service works for the wine but pretty much (out a card on reserve they load up a card for the wine machine. They also have a bar if you'd like cocktails . But I'll def be back to check this spot out for Brunch. This place has so much potential and im grateful it's here. I had the best time at this place. Food was great! I also was able to speak to one of the co-owners and was so impressed with the way her and her co-owner are running the business. I really hope this place does well because it's really a cute place for events i.e. baby showers but definitely for grown-ups and girls night out and on occasions they do have live music. I had the ribeye steak with potatoes and brussels sprouts and that was probably the best brussels sprouts I have ever had in my whole entire life. The steak was tender. Oh I so hoped to give five stars for this Black owned female business. We came to celebrate five birthdays; although we didn't expect 12 of us to show up the manager did let us add a table. It was a little tight and we adjusted. Cute, warm, and intimate space. Kalen our waiter was great! We did not expect to wait over an hour for our food. Overall, the wine was ok and the Sangria had a bitterness to it and was watered down. The salmon was seasoned and prepared well. The tenderloins and mashed potatoes were seasoned and prepared well too. A few of the ladies tenderloins was cold. Would have liked to be put on notice that there is a service charge to use credit card and a prepay card is necessary for self serve wine options. For those that like coffee with dessert it is not an available option. Finally, when we inquired about seeing the owner, we were told that one was there helping in the back and had to leave. It would have been nice if the owner would have came and acknowledged the challenge with the wait. My friend and I decided to have our periodic, catch up, girly time at Simply Unwine, and did not regret this decision. You walk in and the ambiance is just so relaxing and classy. The decor is beautiful, and lovely music was playing. The selection of wines was very nice, and the self pour stations made for a fun decision-making experience, whether you want to pour just a little to create your own tasting flight, or you do a big pour of your favorite(s). I enjoyed the antipasti skewers, the teriyaki chicken lollipops, and the deviled eggs. The chicken order took a little long, but when you are sipping wine, and chatting it up with friends, that becomes less of an issue. We went to Simply Unwind to celebrate two of my sister's birthdays.I was very intentional in trying this black female owned establishment. Let me start by saying our waitress was great. She was nice and personable. The atmosphere was nice. Our party of six tried the charcuterie board, two mimosas flights, one tried the wine card, two bottles of Rose'. The people who had the chicken and waffles did not like it. They said the chicken was horrible. The people who had the smothered pork loin liked their food. Another disappointing factor. At one point it was only two parties in the restaurant. The waitress brought out a bottle with a sparkler to celebrate a lady birthday. When we inquired about our sparkler for our birthday people-we were informed she was the owner. I found it disheartening that the owner did not address guest in her restaurant. Especially since we were the only people in the restaurant. I have gone to several restaurants and have always been addressed by the owners. So I was very disappointed. She is the owner and will definitely get special treatment in her own restaurant but to celebrate differently in front of paying patrons and not offered some type of celebration to that party did not sit well with me. I was there on Saturday, September the 14th celebrating two birthdays. It was a nice vibe. We were one of two guests in the establishment. The waitress was professional, personable and did a good job all evening. Our table of six spent close to $500 dollars with no problem, because we were enjoying ourselves. After a couple of hours another group came and they to were celebrating a birthday, we knew this after the waitress came out with sparking champagne and a sparking candle, everyone at the our table were stunned, like we have been here all this time celebrating not one but two birthdays and NON of that and of course someone at the table mentioned it to the waitress. She informed us that it was one of the owners birthday. I though ma'am you have been here all this time and with only three tables occupied and you can't acknowledge patrons. We then notice that a band was setting up to perform at 7:00 p.m. Our reservation was for 2:00 p.m. and we arrived on time. Again, we had spent close to $500.00. The waitress asked are you all staying for the band, if so, meet me at the door and pay $10.00, we were taken aback like what? We just could not believe that we had been there all this time and still have to go the the door pay $10.00 and come back to our seats, we discussed that amongst ourselves. Black owner of simple wine come to the front. Treat your patrons better. If you have patrons already inside the establishment, please do not charge them another fee for live music, it smells like greed.
