if you are a perfectionist like me, do not come here. I will start with a positive and that is that I got in and out in an hour. While filing my nails, the technician cut me and did not offer me any alcohol at the end of the service when I explicitly asked for it to avoid infection. She did though which I appreciated. I mentioned the thickness of the nails, and they buffed and redid one of the thumbs. For a $65 service I am really disappointed and will not be returning. read more

Came in late and they were able to squeeze in me and two friends for mani pedis. The quality of service was mediocre at best for both the regular mani pedi and the gel mani pedi. The staff did not seem happy. They smeared bright red polish all over my big toe and didn't clean it off even after I pointed it out, so now I have polish on my toe. My friend who got a gel polish showed me that they didn't do a very good job of painting the polish on. They quoted that the gel mani pedi was $96 and then charged us $100 with no explanation. We still left a tip, but $300 later, I wish we had gone elsewhere.... Live and learn. read more

I did a hard gel manicure and gel pedicure and was able to book through ClassPass ($120 value total). They made it super easy and worked quickly when I told them I was in a bit of a time crunch. Very happy with my experience here. I came in with square damaged nails (a few broken) and builder gel. I asked for removal of builder gel, a new gel builder set with brown cat eye almond shape and a regular pedicure and they did exactly that! My manicurist took her time with the builder gel to build off the foundation of my nails as I've new growing them out. She suggested different colors until I found what I was looking for and was friendly and kind throughout the process. I also had a great pedicure with another diligent stylist. This place has a warm environment and is reasonably priced, specially compared to other prices in the city. They also offer a stamp card so you can get a discount after a few visits. Similar experience as others... I had appointments for a deluxe manicure and deluxe pedicure... starting 50 minutes late only to have them accept 5 other customers whilst absolutely everything was rushed and out of order... like polish and then massage and paraffin on my hands, then polish and paraffin after my pedi-polish. And before all of that, having the manicure towel with all of my dead cuticle cuttings thrown onto my lap as I was asked to move to the pedicure chair. At the end, the paraffin and lotion on my legs was not even wiped off... For those who prefer natural manicures, they use the same nail file/buffer as they do for others as well as have old nail polishes. They use the same substance for both base and top coat. My manicure and pedicure lasted all of about 2 hours or less, which is less than the amount of time I actually spent there as I had to wait for three different women to tag team on everything. The staff are super nice, and they apologized...but wondering if either the working conditions are not conducive to proper nail service or if they think requesting people to come back for an appointment would be more productive. Called originally for a 4 pm pedi then called at 2:40 if I can go in and the lady said yes. I took an uber and when I got there they told me they are too busy. I could have gone elsewhere if they were busy. Then told her I called and she tried to play dumb and said she didn't get a call so I hit redial and phone next to her started ringing. 3 month update: I'm still dealing with the consequences of overfiled nails months later. It hurts to apply nail polish or gel over them now. So I'm waiting for it to grow back in a few more months. You can see where the edges were are still deep crevices that are almost touching the nail bed beneath and it's sore to the touch every day. I do not recommend getting acrylic gel here. read more

My mother and I been going here for a few years now and I can't seem to go anywhere else! I can't find a place with the same kind of service or better! They are so kind and do a great job from manicurel pedicure to waxing! I show or tell them what I want done and they let me know if they can do it, who will do it for me, and when they are available. They have other locations as well but I like going to the Divisadero location since it's close by. If you want designs done on your nails look for Tiana or Kim but if it's for a regular manicure/pedicure they are all great but our favorite is Jessica and Kim. When you go get waxed look for Sabrina or Jessica they are quick and detailed. read more

I'm super loyal to Simply Unique Nails (usually I go to the Valencia & Divis location) all 3 are amazing! but this was my very first time booking through ClassPass. Honestly, I'm obsessed with how my full set turned out! I've been struggling with my cuticles lately and they cleaned them up perfectly! Like better than I could have even asked for. My nails look so fresh, and their color selection is amazing. I swear I could spend forever just looking at all the options. Not all salons are created equal when it comes to hard gel--I tried many salons before settling on SUN-- they are the best I've found at it! Big Apple Red by OPI is the perfect true red. I received the worst manicure of my life at this salon. I am from out of town and needed a gel-x fill. They were able to get me in quickly which was nice. The manicurist Sabrina told me she has been doing nails for 29 years. I thought I was in good hands, but I was not. I quickly realized she was not familiar with gel-x. She did not do a fill. It was extremely painful as she filed down my nails. The shaping was the worst I have EVER seen in my life. I'm not being dramatic. Every single nail is a different shape and length. None of them are the same. I'm so disappointed. I can't even do anything about it because my nails are all sore. My word of advice is to seriously never come to this salon. UPDATE// I really appreciate the owner personally contacting me and apologizing. In addition, she gave me a full refund. This place is a true gem. I live a short distance away, but there are several other nail salons closer to me, but I really like the work they do here. I get a simple manicure but my nails always look clean, natural, and polish stays on for almost two weeks. The ladies here work efficiently and the prices are very reasonable.
