I've brought my daughter here twice and the ladies that work here have been fabulous. Our first time they gave out drinks to all the customers which was nice and refreshing. My daughter is too small to really get a manicure and pedicure but they still treat her wonderfully while putting on nail polish. The second time they didn't hand out refreshments but put on stickers on top of her nail color, my daughter loved it. The price is very reasonable for being in the city. read more

I've been coming here a few months now and LOVE Minna Nails. They are so friendly in there and work hard to give you the best service possible. I used to come in monthly for gel manicure but Minna convinced me to try to Dip nails and I've never looked back. Her attention to detail is unmatched and will even completely redo a nail if it isn't perfect! I always walk out super satisfied and feel pampered when there, she even gives me a LaCroix sometimes. I've brought 3 friends to her so far and all of them were super satisfied! They're also skilled at pedicures and even offer a CBD pedicure that I haven't gotten yet but definitely plan to soon. Gel manicure is $40 and dip manicure is $50. I had dip nails once before, from a different salon, and the polish came out thick and awkward. I figure that's just how Dip manicures were, but I decided to try Minna Nails for my second set and it was a completely different experience. The nail tech at Minna was SO thorough. She used a dremel tool in between coats, and carefully smoothed down every edge so that my nails were thin and light, but strong. I can get a good 4 to 5 weeks out of each dip manicure with no chips, and the edge of the manicure that shows when the nail grows is smooth and thin (see pic). It takes about an hour, but it's worth it for an entire month of not giving my nails another thought. My nails are weirdly flexible, to the point where I can't wear normal polish because it just pops right off. Gell manicure will last a couple of weeks, but dip nails are amazing. read more

Absolutely no ventilation. If that's important to you go elsewhere. The salon was pretty dirty but the instruments were clean. Ok polish selection. Maybe 20 5-free polishes, but the top coat and base coat aren't so what's the point? I called ahead to ask if they had room for 2 people and they were very aggressive over the phone insisting they had room and then changing the time. My nail tech was Thuy. She was SO sweet and very attentive in her craft! I like to put glitter touches on random fingers (see attached photos) and I liked that when she didn't understand me, she consulted a coworker to ensure that I got what I wanted. I've been to places where the tech nods but then demonstrates that they clearly had not understood my request so I was very appreciative of that on her end. I love this shop! I've been coming here on and off for over 10 years. The proprietor of the shop, Tina is so sweet! Her daughter owns the shop along with another Minna Nails in Noe Valley and a New shop on 21st and Bryant, Ziva Nails. Tina no longer does acrylics so I had to go elsewhere, but now that I've discovered dip powder nails, I'm back to Tina! I went in tonight and my mails look better than they have in a long time. I'm so happy! Perfect for my weekend getaway! Their prices are less expensive than the other shops in the neighborhood As well. I highly recommend this cute neighborhood salon! read more

Dishonesty and overcharging = won't return I'd asked one of the employees to add $5 to my total for the tip. She asked, "so $37?" "Yes, $37." A few seconds later she turned around and handed me a receipt for $42!! She then claimed it was because two people worked on me (partway through they switched people they were working on with no explanation). 1) We had clearly agreed on a price 2) I was in a rush and I had *specifically asked them to skip most of the pedicure* (including the massage), so they didn't even do a full pedicure, yet still overcharged me! 3) Both employees only did ~1/2 a pedicure, but got double the tip The quality of the pedicure was fine, but I won't be returning due to the employee's blatant dishonesty. If she wanted me to give two tips, she should've asked when we were discussing the final price rather than sneaking it in after she'd ran my card. read more

Cheap and does the job. If you do both mani and pedi you get full service on a massage chair but getting mani means you are the step child on the side table. The lady was sweet but while doing my nail she was also acting as cashier, phone receptionist and everything else. So it didn't feel very sanitary at all. I really like Minna Nails. Maybe it's because I'm a creature of habit, and so once I find a place I like, I keep going back. But really, Tina is just *SO* friendly, that it makes Minna a comfortable place to return to. So many times, when I walk into other similarly affordable nail salons, a) I can't get anyone's attention; b) if I do, the person usually looks me up and down and scowls; and c) just barks out "Pick a color." I don't even usually know where to sit, and wind up standing around, aimlessly staring at the walls and fondling my bottle of 'Wicked'. At Minna Nails, Tina always says hello, asks how I'm doing, asks if I want a mani-pedi, and sure, she says "Pick a color," but it's a pleasant request in her sing-song voice. I only give 4 stars because the quality of manicures is pretty inconsistent from manicurist to manicurist. Sadly, I don't know any of the other manicurists' names, but that's probably my fault for being too shy to ask. I feel kind of rude walking in and asking for a particular person, by, you know, pointing (no, I haven't done that. please!) so I recommend finding out the name of your favorite manicurist and calling for an appointment. Also, the ambiance of the actual space is pretty typical -- bare walls, a bunch of massage chairs, curtained-off waxing area. Sometimes the wait for walk-ins is kind of long, and they could really use some new magazines, so I always bring my own. But: The friendly atmosphere makes this inexpensive nail salon ($10 mani, $25 main/pedi) my favorite. I'm very happy with my gel mani! Tina, the manicurist, even took the time to make sure the bottle I chose met my color expectations. The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the ambiance. It was not a dumpy nail spot but it also wasn't renovated and modern. It was clean and the chairs were in good condition though. I am new to the neighborhood and have been searching for "my place" in this part of the Mission. I am super happy to have found Minna Nails! I was a walk-in late in the day yesterday (about an hour before closing) and they took me without much of a wait for a gel manicure. This place is super low frills -- no music, nobody to greet you on arrival, very basic decor, no drinks offered -- but I care a lot less about that stuff than I do about a high quality service, which they delivered in spades! Tina did my manicure and she was wonderful. She was warm and personable, and truly cared about my satisfaction with the service and building a relationship with me. She was thorough and meticulous, and gave me a beautiful manicure I am thrilled with. She even stayed a bit after closing with me and did not rush when we went over. She also checked to make sure I liked how the color looked before putting it on, and gave me an extra round of top coat to help prevent my short nails from chipping. As an added plus, the gel manicure itself was reasonably priced at $30. They do prefer you make appointments on weekends as it gets busy, so call ahead! I look forward to returning! read more

This was a really difficult review to figure out. I'd say more like 3.5- just good enough. The ladies were really sweet but we did have a major communication barrier. They also couldn't do French tips on my toes, asked me to come back in an hour when the lady who does those gets in. I didn't want to wait, so I picked a cute pink Essie instead. The water was cold, that was a bummer because it was a really chilly day. She did almost everything fine. Just medium. The massage was short and unremarkable. But the lotion was warmed (nice touch) and there were hot towels after. Again, everything was just good enough. I'm confused about this review because I really had no complaints, I'm just used to *more*. She did take the time to put my toes under a dryer after the color and then again after the top coat, which I appreciated because although I'd brought flip flops, I didn't want to use them unless necessary because it was cold and I was walking. One teeny complaint- when I got home I noticed a bit of jaggedness along the edge of the big toenail where she'd clipped a slightly ingrowing nail. So I trimmed that up with some nippers and smoothed it out with a file. I feel conflicted, but I'd probably try somewhere else before returning. If this was a $17 pedi instead of a $22 pedi, I'd give it an additional star! I usually go to LUXSF, but a) more expensive, b) natural polish doesn't last as long, and c) their chairs are uncomfortable, I prefer these spa type all-in-one type. Oh, and do bring your device if you like entertainment during your service because they don't have music or tv (but they did have a good magazine selection). read more

Loved this nail salon! My cousin and I came here as walk-ins a couple weeks ago since we were in the area. The employees were more than accommodating for us. I got a gel pedicure done, while my cousin got a gel mani/pedi. It was a quick process for both of us and we were out in a little over an hour (didn't wanna risk smudging the Polish haha). The pedicure stations had massage chairs, so the manicurist turned the chair on and passed me the remote so I could control it from then on. I definitely needed a massage as I got my toes done, so that was definitely the cherry on top of our visit! I grapple (jiu jitsu and wrestling) 3-4 times a week and I've yet to see any chipping on my toenails. Definitely would come back to Minna Nails! read more

This place is amazing! My friends and I stopped by to kill some time before we could check into our hotel. We we're visiting SF from out of town. Before going I did a bit of research and this place seemed like it had positive reviews and fair prices and they opened earlier than other places so that was a plus! The four of us came right at opening and there was one nail tech there who put us on the phone with another nail tech that was super sweet and nice and let us know she would be in soon to help assist. I got the aloe vera pedicure and a manicure and it was absolutely amazing omg! The pedicure was out of this world and the technicians took there time and never made us feel rushed even tho there were other people that wanted to come in for services. They were so thorough and accommodating and we noticed quite a few regulars come by during our time there, which is a good sign. They were hesitant to take such a big tip but I felt the pedicure itself was worth more than they were charging and was gladly happy to pay for such extraordinary service when I've been to another nail shops that have higher base prices and less impeccable service. Overall I highly recommend this place. We were lucky to be able to get in on a Friday as the first ones there. They seemed to be popular so appointments seems to be the way to go to make sure you can get seen when you want to. A+++ read more

This place is amazing! The ladies here are SO talented. I went in last minute on the Fourth of July and asked for American flag toenails.
