Went here for a Mani/Pedi to make sure my nails were taken care before my wedding and I could not have been happier with the result! I just did the basic no color options since I just wanted my nails to look nice and presentable. I do not often get my nails done, but I enjoyed the experience so much, I might make this a reoccurring thing! read more

I've been to Gentle Nails Salon 3 times and every single time delivers a quality and relaxing experience. I've gotten gel-x manicure and regular gel manicure and normal pedicure and they are phenomenal at all of them. The technique is flawless, the products are so good, I tried to take the gel off myself and I literally couldn't, which proves how well they did it. My nail tech was named Lina as well which was cool. Highly recommend! read more

My first visit to Gentle Nails Salon proved the business name applies. I love how gentle they are!! They absolutely do not rush, are very attentive to detail and thorough!! They soak off gel polish, they don't rip anything off! My first time having my natural long nails dipped. They were able to save a broken nail, which prevented me from cutting them off. I had my fingers dipped plus a gel polish and a pedicure with same gel polish and it was $120. Higher price than I want to pay, but the quality was worth it and my nails still look fresh (it's been 7days since my visit). I decided to go to this salon based on reviews. It's in walking distance to my home, so that's an added bonus. Will definitely be going back! read more

I came in for an acrylic fill and my tech struggled to shape my nails properly. She also decided to glob acrylic onto my entire nail making them all thicker and ruining the sleek very natural look of my long acrylics. An hour and a half later and after asking numerous times about the shape and about how the thickness of every nail was different, I think the poor girl gave up. Super disappointed even though I think she really tried. read more

Made an appointment and they were ready for me. Got an acrylic fill and they did a beautiful job. It is a little pricier for a fill than some other places in the bay (65 for a fill + added 20$ for getting a cat eye design) but I will say it is worth the price. It was relatively quick but there was clear attention to detail and you could tell my nail artist knew what she was doing. I will be coming back! read more

Walked in on weekday for gel manicure and pedicure and was seen right away. There was plenty of staff as well. Nice and chill salon and they carry great colors! I have been going here for around a year now and I have to say the gel manicures here are ridiculously good. My gel manicure always lasts around 5 weeks on natural nails. I also grow out my natural nails and once I got a chip right before I was going to do a manicure and they were able to repair it very easily. Today I asked them to do a cute cat nail art based on my cat (yes I am a crazy cat lady) and the result was sooooo cute. This was over my natural nail too! The price was very reasonable for the nail art! I highly recommend them for gel manicures and pedicures! If you go during a weekday they can usually squeeze you in same day! Just make sure you call first to see if they are busy. read more

I'm so happy that I no longer need to be afraid of the nail salon! I've been staying away from getting my nails done because for some reason, I've consistently been nicked/cut at other salons because the nail tech was working too fast and too aggressively. I got a classic mani/pedi at Gentle Nails today for $52 total and I can confidently say that the service was friendly, skilled, and GENTLE like the name states. My cuticles look great (and unharmed) and they even put quick dry drops on my fingers to make sure they dried faster and stronger. Small note: they charge $5 total if you come in and need leftover gel removed, but this fee is waived if you're getting a new gel manicure. (For me, this was expected as this seems to be a standard charge.) I will be back! read more

I called here last minute and was able to get an appointment quickly. I hadn't done my nails in some time so they were pretty bad, but the girls did an amazing job!! I was very pleasantly surprised on how great my nails looked afterward. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure for $70, which is about average these days in SF. They took their time and were meticulous about making my nails look great! Thank you Gentle Nails, I'll definitely be back :) read more

Been here 3 times now. I never get cuts like my last place. No one is in a hurry and I don't mind relaxing as I her both my nails and feet done. Had to do gel extensions on a few broken nails. Highly recommend read more

This is my second time at this salon and this will be my new go to spot! I did a walk in during the evening my first time and they were able to take me. I got French tips and Diane did a great job. My second time I made an appointment and Lan did this dip set and nailed it. I'm loving it! Make an appointment or walk in the mornings, because they do get busy. Great local nail salon in Inner Sunset just around the corner from 9th & Judah Muni stop. This was only my 2nd ever time getting a manicure so I'm no expert. Staff was very friendly and they sat me immediately and offered water or tea. They had lots of color options between regular and gel (I don't know the difference haha). They're full menu of offerings is at the front desk on the printed paper sign. I got regular color and 3 little flowers and cost me $28 before tip. Seems like you can also call ahead and make an appointment. My only "complaint" is I wish they explained the menu options to me or asked if this was my first time, etc. Overall great spot, friendly staff and convenient location, I'll be back for sure! read more

Called in the early afternoon on a Thursday (July 1, 2021) to see if my friend and I could come in later in the evening for an acrylic set and a gel set. Employees were super friendly and scheduled us for that day at 4 PM. Parking: there's street parking, and most of them don't require payment past 5 PM. A lot of the street parking was residential, and were mostly 2 hour parking. I was able to find parking two blocks down and walked over. It was also a week day, so maybe parking was a little easier. I normally don't come into the city, like, ever; I hate driving in SF, but I did it to hangout with my friend lol. Location: only a few blocks from Golden Gate Park, located in the Sunset area and there were several other nail shops in the vicinity. I almost got confused and went into a different nail shop. Service: 10/10. I don't remember my nail tech's name, but she wore glasses, spoke English well and was pretty soft spoken. She has 2 daughters, lives in SF.. we chatted for a while but I didn't get her name. But she was amazing. PERIOD. I'm writing this review almost 4 weeks after I got my acrylics done, and jesus, the attention to detail on these nails. None of my nails have chipped or come off. This is either some ridiculously strong glue or she just did a great job. I've gone on vacation (boston, nyc, nj) with my corgi, and I went rafting last weekend with 16 corgis. I'm just amazed every single one of my nails is still intact. My friend and I arrived around 4 PM, but we weren't seen immediately. There were 3 customers still in the shop (which is fine because my friend was running a little late). We ended up waiting till around 5 PM, but they did give us tea/water and let us sit down. They also have a really clean restroom in the back that I was able to use, so I didn't really mind waiting. My acrylic set took a little over an hour, but my lady was easy to talk to - we talked about her daughter who is going to college, and her other daughter's shiba. My friend and I were the last ones in the shop after 6 PM, so they were kind enough to let our corgis come inside and sit with us. That was probably the best part because I love dog friendly places, and just dog lovers in general. Price: probably standard for SF, my acrylic set was $70 which is way more expensive than Fremont/SJ, but it's okay. I've never had acrylics last me this long so I guess it was worth it. They take Venmo, card and cash. I tipped in cash, but I paid via Venmo. If I'm ever in need of nails that are gonna last 4 weeks+, and I'm in the city, I'll be back! Def will need to make sure I get her name next time.... read more

Incredible nail salon with incredible nail artists. Great job whether it's gel, dip, or regular manis. I usually go for gel nails and with them my gel mani lasts for 3+ weeks without chipping! Better than any other salon I've been to in SF. This is where I tell all my friends to go. Wait is never that bad, though I do almost always go on a weekday - I suggest calling ahead but they do walk ins too. Thank you Gentle Nails! read more

I went to gentle nails this morning for an acrylic fill and a regular polish pedicure. I made an appointment and arrived a few minutes early and was in a chair immediately! Super clean salon, following COVID safety protocols well. The women who work here are lovely and great at their jobs. I have pretty difficult toes with a lot of hard skin around the nails, it's embarrassing and painful, but they always do a great job cleaning them up. I did a style today on my nails, too, and they turned out great! Cash tip preferred, but they do accept venmo for tips now too. read more

Walked in on a Monday for a pedicure and was told i would have to wait for about 10 mins, which was fine although in the future I know to make an appt. Very friendly staff and clean establishment. Offered hot tea or water while I waited. Lots of colors to choose from. I thought the manicurist who worked on me was gentle and took care to do a good job. Regular pedicure was $30 and included not only the nail and cuticle care, but was surprised to also receive an exfoliating rub, hot stone massage and lotion. The short massage I received with the pedicure was very relaxing. Next time will consider paying extra for a longer massage. Overall, very relaxing and good service. Will definitely return. read more

I came here for extensions and dip. The whole process was smooth and the people that work here are all very nice. I am usually a bit nervous/picky about nail places because I am a nail biter with small nails and sometimes places don't know how to treat it or they're too rough. Particularly with pushing cuticles or trimming, I often get accidental injuries. But this place was very professional and I was never uncomfortable throughout the entire process. I also really appreciate that they check in with you often to see if you are okay and if you like the length, shape, design, color, etc. they are super accommodating and want you to be satisfied with the end result. I never felt pressured or bad to go with what they wanted. Definitely recommend this place! Call ahead to make sure they have availability and tips are cash only! read more

I was finally able to go back to 'Gentle Nail Salon' and my hands and feet are thrilled! They are so kind and so safe taking extra precautions for Covid, that there was not a single moment of doubt or concerns about me being there. They have separations, everything gets scrubbed thoroughly and obviously masks and gloves are always on. I Highly recommend visiting them if you're in need of a mani pedi in the inner sunset. read more

This was the…read moresecond time that I visited Spectrum - the first was to get a gel-x set and pedicure with a friend, which was fine. This time, however, all I wanted was a builder gel fill but I left with two cut fingers and pure disappointment. I could tell that the woman doing my nails was shaving aggressively, but I figured she wanted to be quick & efficient. I didn't feel the cuts when they happened, otherwise I definitely would've said something about the pain. However, later in the process, I heard her say "oh" and I noticed that my left ring finger was ACTIVELY bleeding. Most frustratingly, she did not say sorry OR address the blood, rather, just started cleaning it like nothing happened. Then I looked at my right ring finger and saw cut skin there as well. I got light headed but couldn't muster up the courage to object. I shouldn't have to. The photos do not do it justice because as I mentioned, my left ring finger was BLEEDING down the nail. To make things worse, this nail technician was extremely rude and short. When I asked her if my left pinky nail could be shortened to match the length of my right pinky, she looked at it and didn't say a word. It wasn't until all the paint was finished that I then asked her again "can we please make this length match"? And she finally said she was going to, as if my question was an imposition. The audacity. At the end of the appointment, I still tipped (less than I normally do), regretfully-so. When I asked her if her name was one of the displayed venmo cards she said "no". Unfortunately, I do not have her name but she was on the younger side with glasses. I would not recommend unless you want to feel rushed, ignored, and even injured. I will not be going back to this salon.

I also noticed my friend's legs/feet massage was SUBSTANTIALLY longer than mine and her person (younger man) attended well to her feet. That is my biggest complaint, a lackluster and way too short legs/feet massage. My next complaint is the cursory attention to my intense calluses on my feet and cracked skin heels. He maybe used the pumice stone for 20 seconds on each foot ! THIS is such an important part of a pedicure, coming away with soft feet. My feet were exactly the same when I left as when I came in. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! Certainly NOT worth spending $70!!! One of the other things that softens feet for a proper pedicure is soaking them in treated warm water. A bowl of tepid water arrived, but it was not warm enough and my feet HARDLY got a chance to soak making the soak useless. We arrived and my friend was trying to hold it together, and started crying. Carol and Tiffany immediately asked what was wrong, and she shared that she was processing her grief. Both ladies held space for her, comforted her, and shared stories of their personal loss as well. What was supposed to be a casual pedicure ended up being a beautiful therapy session, as they painted our toes, they also offered comfort, support, and genuine love. I am so grateful for this experience. They not only did a wonderful pedicure, but they were genuinely so kind and sweet. They even offered my friend some tea and biscuits at the end. This type of service went above and beyond and I cannot thank these ladies enough for bringing such comfort to me and my friend during this difficult time. We will definitely be retuning again and again! Thank you for your kindness and empathy. It truly warmed our hearts. People like this make the world a better place.

Two weeks ago, I came in for a regular gel manicure, but just two days later one of my nails started chipping, and by the next day the entire gel polish had come off. The following week I went back and showed them how my nails looked after such a short time. They kindly redid my nails complimentary, which I appreciated. However, the very next day the polish started chipping again and the nails looked very textured. I don't have a job that requires heavy use of my hands, and I'm not a nail biter. I've also never had this issue with gel manicures at other places. Because of that, I'm really disappointed with the experience.

I'm bummed that the results did not last because they looked beautiful for the first few days and the overall experience at the salon was great. I would have been willing to continue paying the higher price if the results lasted. However, as is, I don't think I'll be back.
