No frills, but it makes sense. I recently went from stiletto to oval. Typo in my last review: Expensive vs. experience.

I took a graduate for mani pedies

I have been going to Crystal Nail for 14 years now. I think they do amazing work, are sweet as sugar, and have amazing attention to detail. I no longer live in the Richmond but still travel across the city for my feet to feel like pillows and for the artistic perfection they give me. I love these ladies and I'm sure anyone who walks through the door will too.

I loveeeeeed their gel x! they are so sweet and do such beautiful nails! totally recommend!

12/27/2022. Just want to say that these ladies do work hard to try and get your nails as perfect as can be. NO ONE IS PERFECT and I'm sure they have their off days but that's ok =) I still come to them for my nails. I think Nancy usually does pedicure but I haven't gone to her- yet. I always write reviews for Lynn. Lyn is awesome! This review is for TRANG! Trang is awesome, too! She did my nails this time =)

Very nice French gel mani :)

Yeays a easy in and out nail place in Outer Richmond with no attitude, smiles and they take Amex, a plus plus! She did a beautiful job, with nice service and it cost $25 for gel mani ($5 more for French), super great!!! I'll be coming back for sure ;) Thanks you

This place is awesome. I'm so happy that I found this nail salon. They are super nice and funny. And they do a great job. I got an acrylic fill with gel and it was $35. Very affordable and reasonable prices for great quality nail treatment. I will definitely be going back to crystal nail for my next visit to the nail salon. Overall great experience... and I don't say this often about nail salons. But very happy with this place.

Friendly ladies. Especially Jen, who does great work with acrylic nails. Today I felt like simplifying my look, so I went for a gel manicure. After a short wait, Jen got started on my pedicure while another technician took on the arduous task of removing all of my acrylics and giving me a fresh new gel manicure using Big Apple Red. Both ladies were friendly, professional and gentle. Clean shop as well!

As you can tell by my reviews, I have been to many nail shops. I have been getting acrylics on & off for about 10 years. I started coming here when I lived in the area & only stopped because after I moved it was a pain to get to. BUT after my last two attempts to get my nails done elsewhere, i knew i HAD to come back so i could finally be happy with the outcome. I am NOT going anywhere else again. I have sensitive, thin nails & they always make sure not to painfully pry off my old nails, & if needed will even soak them a bit to make it easier. i HIGHLY appreciate this. They always cut my nails before applying tips, & always make sure the length/shape is what i'm going for. They are always consistent with they're work!!! They do amazing work for an extremely reasonable price. They always remember my face even when i've came in after being gone a year. They are all super sweet & so good at what they do!! thank you guys again for always being so accommodating!

Great full and reasonably priced! $50.

Great fill and reasonably priced! $50. Will definitely be back (did a better job than the nail salon I used to go to down the street)

Friendly staff, quick and great work on nails. Received oval french tip acrylics and they are perfect! I highly reccomend this salon.

I used to like this place. Three years ago, I even had them do my wedding nails. But, no more! They wasted my time and made me feel so ugly. I got to the salon around 6:30. Prior to arriving, I called and confirmed that it was ok to come and that it was not to late since they close at 7. I walked in and there were no customers, only three workers. I asked if I can do a gel manicure and add a pedicure and they said cheerily that they would do it no problem. The three workers worked on me to start, but eventually two left around 7 and one remained to finish my manicure. The worker that did my manicure seemed annoyed that it was after 7 and started doing a really botched job, which confused me since they told me they wanted to take me. I wished they would have just been honest and said they were closing soon. That would have been fine with me instead of wasting my time and money. As you can see from the picture, I did not get what I had asked for. The top picture is what I wanted and the bottom two pictures are of what they did to my nails. Not only is the filing uneven and the glitter design hideous and lazy, the gel polish is already coming up at the edges after not even 24 hours. I would go back there to have them fix it, but I don't want them to touch me ever again and don't want to waste my time. In addition, I don't want to deal with their attitudes or fake nice-ness. I'm Vietnamese, so I understand a little Vietnamese. These ladies are so nasty. Two called me fat a bunch of times and then the one that stayed later was on the phone with her friend and called me something equivalent to a bitch because she had to stay late finishing my nails. The whole time I was there, I was super nice to them. I even gave them over a 25% tip despite how upset I was. I tend to cut my people some slack, but this is ridiculous. I have been fuming over my experience and nails since I left their salon. I want to let this go, but I feel like a victim and I need to let others know. Don't waste your time, don't waste your money. And oh yeah, if you think they are talking sh*t about you, they are. They are just mean people despite their smiling and high pitch voices.

I've never written a negative review before because I love supporting small businesses and know how hard it can be to keep things running. Also, a lot of the techs don't speak English and I know that can be hard as well. However, I do think this'll be beneficial for feedback for future reference because I think my nails were damaged beyond what was needed and it'll take at least a month to grow out :( I've come to this nail salon once before had decent service. This time I wanted to get builder gel nails removed that I had done at another studio. Because I've experienced nail lifting and skin irritation that's pretty painful with acetone soaking before, I called ahead and requested if it is possible I get my builder gel nails removed via just drill. I was told yes, it's possible. They were able to fit me in pretty quickly which was great! After I arrived, I requested them to trim my nails short and remove the polish. Minimal cuticle work necessary but I'd like a manicure with no additional polish needed, just nail strengthener. The lady who greeted me up front said of course, we can do that. However, the technician who was assigned to me did not know what I was asking for. I tried to explain again and was told ok. My service began and all was fine, but then shortly after the drilling started, my technician was replaced with another lady randomly, who I think was in rush despite no other clients I could see waiting at the time. This was the biggest issue -- unlike her prior colleague, she increased the power of the drill super high and started filing away extremely aggressively, and I truly believe she went too hard and either rotation speed was too high or she pressed too hard. I felt heat on my nails I don't think I should've felt, and the tips of at least half my fingernail have been left extremely, EXTREMELY thin. Even with two coats of nail strengthener. She got a bit upset at the three times I flinched I think. After service, I could barely put any pressure on my nails without them bending a little. I've currently already broken two and it's only been two days (one broke when I tried to itch my LEG?!) :(. If you look at my nails from the top you can see the tips are more pink and from the side, even a slight difference in density at the tips. I'm a bit worried of onycholysis as I work a lot with my hands and they're short, so breaking them is painful. I do note that there was a language barrier with second tech as well, so I had to ask at least three times to cut my nails short. That's totally fine. However, I think she got frustrated with me because she'd already begun filing and shaping one nail before she finally understood that I needed them cut. As much as I understand there might be a language barrier with ME, I do wish her colleagues could've communicated what I was requesting to her if they had to hand me off. It's not that I didn't try to communicate either... I bring this up only because I noticed after that she immediately started working way faster and more aggressively and I believe skipped some parts of my service without saying anything. While she did remember to apply coats of nail strengthener, my service ended without any lotion, cuticle oil, or anything like that (and she'd used alcohol on my hands during the process which dried my fingers out) The reason I believe she might've skipped some steps without telling me is because her colleague asked her a question in Vietnamese after and came up to me and said it'd only be $25 for the service today instead of $50 for the manicure I'd wanted. I'm not super familiar with nail removals as I usually just let them grow out and cut them off, so perhaps it was on me to go back to the original studio I got my nails done at to get them removed. But this was my first time getting builder gel done which is tougher and I wanted to go about removal in the appropriate way. I did try to do my due diligence and call in advance to ask if it was possible and ultimately I wish I'd just been told to maybe go elsewhere more experienced with removals with a drill :( Edit: added a star because I had an okay experience w/ this salon in the past

From day one, I've had nothing but great experiences, and Vivian is a HUGE reason why. She handles your nails with care and checks in at every step, which I really appreciate. I've loved every single set she's done for me. One time I came in with basically zero inspiration, and Vivian completely took over the decision-making... and WOW. She nailed it ;) I loved what she chose and trusted her instantly after that. I've also come in with specific design inspo, and she happily accepted the challenge like it was nothing. Her work is so detailed, creative, and clean! She's truly an artist. You can tell she takes pride in what she does. On top of her talent, Vivian is just the best. She's kind, friendly, remembers your name, asks about you and your family, and genuinely makes you feel welcome. As a Sunset District native, this salon has that neighborhood feel, like a local spot where they actually know you and care. I'll absolutely be coming back and won't go anywhere else.
