Wow is all I have!! (GOOD WOW) I found this place on accident really, while searching for a hairdresser. My regular nail person who I do love is out of town I think? Anyway, walked in for an acrylic gel fill and pedi. I found Cindy! I am blown away with how GREAT and fast she is! I mean I am really HAPPY!! So I must say I found a new spot. Since moving to the Bay, I have been trying to find a salon that I felt comfortable and do a good job to keep my toes nice. I decided to call and ask how much for a regular pedicure and was told it was 20 dollars and I know other places are at 30 base point with no nail polish. Moving from LA, I felt it was strange to charge extra for regular nail polish when it always came with the service? I dont want to give this review but I feel I have two. Cynthia has always done my nails great. The review is given because of there appointment process. Twice I hae come and they never noted my appointment. Today was worse. I called yesterday to reschedule today's time. I asked Julie to move back my appointment she said come at 12. I arrived and she had me for the wrong day!!! She told me to come back later bur I cocouldn't. They take your appointment but no consideration for your time. There were two women working, one helped with my nails when she was finished with her client. I called earlier that day to get a quote and see their availability - would recommend doing so if you don't want to wait or have limited time since they don't have a ton of staff. Service was great, both were very nice and polite. Color selection is decent, but not the most expansive. She helped me try to pick a color since I was having trouble deciding. The ladies are very nice and good at building my acrylic nails. Price: When I first went in, I asked how much is it to do all the designs exactly like in the picture I showed them (also attached), they said 50 but I didnt want to take the risk since Ive never been at this place before. So I asked how about just two nails for accent, they said 5 more I asked them 3 times whats the base price since they said 5 more and no one answer me. My nails costed me 45 at the end. Nail: When we get to cutting the fake nails to the right size, I totally forget that after all the buffing the nails get much shorter and the lady didnt took that in consideration as well. So my nails came out pretty short and compare both hands the nail lengths dont match some are shorter than the other. Then when it comes to the design, she tried. I dont need you to try because I pay for this, you shouldve say NO, I wouldve go with just color. They closes at 7, I went in at about 6 had to wait for the other customer to finish. Maybe it was because she had to go overtime to finish my nails, she kept looking at the clock and saying something in Vietnamese (I think). I'm going to say I really like these ladies. They are super sweet and work har don your nails. The place looks kind of dingy at first, but it's just old. And when you look closer, it's pretty clean. When they give you a pedi they bring out a bowl of hot water wrapped in a trash bag that they change for everyone. I like that. It hygienic! More so than the fancy massage chairs. Not a giant selection of colors, but you will definitely find oner that you want! The thing that weirded me out was that you could see the people getting waxed in the back... There was a curtain but.. you could see their legs sticking out on the table. Granted this lady was only getting her face waxed, but I could only imagine what would happen if someone was getting their Brazilian! This has to be the best place to get your cheap mani/pedi on. For under $25 you are in and out under an hour with a great mani/pedi. They are no fuss and muss. They can do designs on your finger nails. Trust me I have asked an they have delivered. Once I asked to give me a full crystal encrusted toe. No kidding my toe was sparkling (it was a phase and I am not ashamed to admit it!). The place is super small. Three chairs. So the line can be long on the days closer to the weekend or a holiday. They are clean. The place doesnt look it really (bc its older and small). But they sanitize their supplies just like they should. Only complaint is that they do not have a large shellack color selection. But I am sure eventually they will carry more. But really, if you dont like the mom and pop feel. This isnt the place for your and I am not sure what you expect when you walk in. So stop being so picky or go elsewhere. read more

So listen, if you get your nails done here, they will look GREAT! Seriously, they will look fabulous for a few days....until the gangrene sets in. Then your fingers will become swollen pustulent little vienna sausages. Eventually, they will fall off and when you wear cut-off gloves (a la Michael Jackson, hee-hee, shamon!), there won't be anything but nubs poking out of them. I may not be the smartest cookie around, but even I know that wiping cuticle trimmers with a kleenex doesn't kill 99.9% of the germs and bacteria found on them. Gross nasty. I had never had a manicure or a pedicure until I came here last week for my birthday with a friend who loves Artistic Nail Cure (and they love her). The place is not fancy and maybe even a little dingy, but everything is sanitary. The ladies did a fantastic job on every single nail. In grabbing my wallet, I dinged a finger, which I considered my fault, and they insisted on fixing it. My favorite thing was in doing my feet, one of the ladies who struggles a little bit with English, laughed as she said "You tickle." This is the only place I will go for a pedicure. I live in Oakland and this joint is in the inner sunset in S.F.. It is a small, dingy little place with only 4 chairs (and these are office chairs-not massage chairs.) At first glance, one may think this place is dirty--but no way!! The carpets are old, the walls need to be painted, and there only decor is plastic flowers stuck on the wall. But where it counts, they clean up. The instruments are disinfected properly and believe me-I checked after reading other yelp reviews. The best thing about Artistic Nail Care is what they do to your toes. They take their time (esp. with the massage-my favorite,) and they make your feet look fabulous. Now, I am not a normal girl-I kick the shit out of things everyday and live my life barefoot in a sweaty gym. My nail polish lasts!!! I just moved to the neighborhood and happened to walk in to this salon on a weekday morning. I will most definitely be back! This is a very small, no frills kind of place. The chairs you sit in are the office chairs with wheels-not the most comfortable, but the service here is what is great. The woman who did my mani/pedi was very nice and did a wonderful job. I was there for about an hour for pedicure and gel manicure. There is a large selection of gel colors to choose from as well. read more

I found this place 3 years ago when I lived around the corner. Jenny and her ladies do an AMAZING job on your nails and cuticles. I now live in Emeryville, and I still make the treck into the city to get a mani-pedi. I have tried a few places on this side of the bay, but none even come close. Every nail is perfect or the re-do it, period. I would also like to add that I work in Biotech, and pay attention to what and how nail salons clean around me. There are 3 things that I like about their cleanliness. 1. They use a barbasol soak (not a quick dip) of all tools before they've ever come near a single nail of mine. 2. Their foot bathes do not have the jets that are so hard to decontaminate. 3. They use disposable plastic bags as liners (changes after every person, for the foot bathes They are often busy here, and having to wait is common, but it is well worth it. read more

I needed a quick and cheap mani/pedi - found the perfect spot! No frills hole in the wall shop - which if you're ok with, you'll love this place. It's tiny but the ladies in there are ridiculously nice and definitely know what they're doing! The listened to what I wanted and that's important to me - especially since I like my nails shaped and cut a certain way. I loved my mani/pedi experience and I love the way my nails look! There are comfortable rolling office chairs to sit in and they use a basin covered in plastic bag for your foot soak. The massage wasn't much, but hey, for the price, I'm not complaining! The best bang for your buck if you have time to wait a bit, as they only have about 3-4 people that work there at a time. Jenny, the owner, is a very sweet woman however, when you walk in and ask how long the wait is, she will always say "5-10 minute" as she is trying to get as many customers as possible. But here's the thing... they still do a REALLY good job. No matter how busy it gets, the other two women that work there never seem to be rushing but are still efficient and take really good care of your nails. Although Jenny rushes at times...she damn well still does the job GREAT! You can't really complain in the end as you look at your perfectly shaped and polished nails. She seems to have perfected the art of the "express" manicure... so let her be! Although the place is kind of a hole in the wall and doesn't necessarily scream immaculate, if you look closely, you see they really do clean and sanitize their instruments well. I have a friend who also gets her waxing done here. I totally understand the whole squeamish about the disinfection processes at this hole in the wall, however the big draw is that they have the "snicker" and aren't afraid to use it. By the "snicker" I mean that wonderful little skin shaving apparatus that I love so well!! They also just got new linoleum so the toe-nail clippings aren't so embedded into the carpet. my go-to place for regular manis and pedis - around $25 for the combo, $10 for a mani. i've tried a lot of nail places in the neighborhood and keep coming back here. it's not fancy, they don't have spa chairs and it can get cramped when it's busy but who cares when they do a great job. i've never had any problems or infections. i never make an appointment. i just walk in and usually don't have to wait long - unless it's the weekend. read more
