Really impressed with their manicure! Got the shellac for an affordable price, had a great experience at their salon with attention to detail around my cuticles and a beautiful polish. They have hundreds (yes hundreds!) of color options as well as nail art if you're interested. Technicians were friendly and offered water or tea as well. Super relaxing vibe and clean facilities. Will be returning often! read more

Date: Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 Appointment Time: 5pm Service & Price: Basic Manicure ($26) & Gel Pedicure ($55) = $81 Appointment Made: via their website the day prior I was going to a beachy vacation and in desperate need of a mani pedi. Did some yelping and found Milan SF. Decided to give them a try. I had booked thru the site a Basic Combo ($58) & Add On Gel ($20) = $78 since I got absolutely no polish or anything on my mani. But I think they broke down the charges per the services above. It was only a $3 diff, so I didn't say anything. I normally get basic pedicures since I want to be able to remove the polish easily when I want to. But I was going out after this, so I decided to get gel. I picked a pretty pink color called On A Whim. It looked great when I left, tho it is a little lumpy looking now. Not sure if that's due to time or if it was kinda lumpy to begin with and is just getting more textured. Otherwise, it's still holding up and looks good. The manicure was nice since I don't know how to do my cuticles and such. I can't get polish without messing it up and I didn't want to deal with gel, so I just left them bare. Milan was prompt with my appointment time. When you walk in, you check on their tablet. Afterwards they directed me to a chair and we got started. I don't believe they take CCs as I was asked to venmo. I did have enough cash for tip on me, so I tipped in cash. Glad I discovered a new mani pedi spot close to my house. I always get gel here and they do such a good job. Everyone that works here has great attention to detail. Ever since I started going here my nails don't break as much. My favorite salon!! Super kind and skilled staff. It's been a week and a half since i got my deluxe gel mani pedi and my cuticles still look amazing. My ombré nails turned out SO pretty. There were 3 techs working on me at one point and it felt like i was a princess lol. They will make sure you are taken care of even as a walk in client. I also got my underarms, upper lip and brows waxed and she took her time to make sure everything was on point. They played acoustic covers of pop songs at the time. I was able to find residential parking 2 blocks away. I wish I lived closer! read more

My friend told me to try and now this is my third time returning to this nail salon - every time I am wowed! The ladies are sweet and patient. Lovely service and reasonable prices. I always get some sort of design and always amazed by how it turns out. I try to come on week days on my day off to avoid a long wait time or feeling rushed, and it's been fairly quick timing. I have been coming here for over a year; the women who work here are always friendly, even when they are busy. They are thorough and do a nice job. The work they do is not only a treat but, also, necessary. I'm a diabetic and also wear progressive eyeglasses - I don't see my toes with (or, without) my eyeglasses, and during the pandemic/lock down, I cut my toes more than once. I need their skills. I had the most amazing and meticulous manicure by Cadia. She is a true artist. She will perfectly capture your vision and does the BEST nail prep I've experienced in SF. Today a chose fun French on a gelx set and I can't stop staring at my nails! Walked in and asked for a manicure. All I needed were the cuticles to be cleaned, but the manicurist ended up cutting off too much and made one of my fingers bleed. She then took the nail clipper and tore off an entire piece of nail from the side of my thumb! I pulled my hand away and asked for a napkin to wipe the blood. Instead, she causes more pain by spraying my bleeding fingers with pure rubbing alcohol!!! Adding more insult to injury, she then starts laughing as I'm told to pay $26 cash! I threw a 20 at her and walked out. It's one thing to make a minor mistake. But, to cause serious bleeding and then laugh about it, you're just lucky that I even paid you at all. Oh, and be careful with their "check-in", which requires you to give them your phone number and email. They make you think it's about selecting the service and earning points when it's really meant for spam marketing. read more

Best salon in the Richmond for gel manicures, gelx/extensions, and nail art that I've tried! I also have gone to Miracle Spa and The Nail Room before and while they do a decent job, they are always crowded and not always very attentive. Been here twice for gel manis (once with gel extensions and once for a fill) and once for a regular pedicure. There are 3 really nice nail techs who work here and every time I've been all 3 have worked on me simultaneously. They're all good at different things so they seem to play to their strengths. They are really amazing at copying nail art designs from photos and helping with color selection! I love how detail-oriented and meticulous they are. They do take a little longer than I'm used to but in a good way. I never feel like they're rushing or trying to get me out quickly to make space for a new customer. The pedicure was one of the most thorough and relaxing that I've ever had for a "regular" pedicure. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Wonderful individuals!! They're very attentive and flexible on the asks I specifically had (most related to styles, colors, etc). Haven't had a pedicure and manicure (gel) in a verrrrrrry long time. The auntie that assisted in my pedicure was firm but not harsh - she gave clear and decisive directions. Please keep in mind there was minimal language barriers - nothing difficult. The younger lady that assisted in my gel manicure was a bit more firm in handling my hands - I wasn't fuss. (Just an observation between the auntie and her). The younger lady (I didn't catch any names) was VERY focused on her actions (again appreciate the details). Overall great experience!! Would absolutely recommend that you try if you're looking for a new place. I believe reservations are needed (post COVID but please correct me if I'm wrong). read more

I've been multiple times and have enjoyed my experience every time. Both nail techs are meticulous and are about customer satisfaction. I have only gotten gel manicures that seem to last longer than most of my Nailshop experiences on a more frequent basis...(3 pushing 4weeks with only the obvious growth being an issue!) this is a lot considering I have "working hands" definitely try and make an appointment (which is convenient and easy) this newer Nailshop will not be a hidden SF gem in the outer Richmond for long! read more

YES! The nail place I've been searching for! First, gorgeous mani/ pedi! Secondly it's a clean, new, beautiful shop with brand new massage chairs and very friendly staff. My favorite part though was the massage which came as part of the mani/pedi and didn't cost extra; the longest arm/leg massage ever, complete with hot stones at the end! Van scrubbed my legs with the exfoliant so well; truly a pampering mani/pedi. Lastly, it was all done in just under an hour! Total bonus, I hate it when getting my nails done takes over an hour. Parking, Starbucks adjacent...what more could you want? read more

Van and Cadia both worked on my gel manicure with builder gel & a couple of extensions. They were both super detail oriented and extremely thorough - and also very helpful in helping me pick the color of gel that I wanted! Another bonus is that parking is right in front and widely available if you go on a Monday afternoon like I did. I got a discount for being a first time customer but would have gladly paid full price for the service! read more

What an amazing fined while running an errand at the bank. This is my second time here in 2 weeks. I came here 2 weeks ago randomly to get gel nails on the opening day. To my surprise they were giving 20% off for the day. How could I resist?! The technician did an amazing job with my French gel names. I knew by her meticulous detail to my nails that this was my new go to nail salon. I got so many compliments from my nails. I am back today for a pedicure and no surprise another amazing job. Because of covid I was reluctant to get my nails done in the past. This place is so clean and the technicians do such amazing work with my nails. I will be back again for sure on a regular basis. Ugly messy nails. The lady was rude and did not make me feel comfortable. Every time I mentioned something was wrong she did the sloppiest attempts to fix her mistakes. I came in for short natural nails and I left with clown nails. Worst part is she was mad and argumentative when I asked to fix them. Been here a few times for a basic mani/pedi combo (no polish). Chairs are comfy and the staff is super sweet and quick. Although I am simple, I've seen some amazing nails done here... gel, long, fancy colors or patterns and the clients leave with beautiful nails and a huge smile. I've never written a negative review before because I love supporting small businesses and know how hard it can be to keep things running. Also, a lot of the techs don't speak English and I know that can be hard as well. However, I do think this'll be beneficial for feedback for future reference because I think my nails were damaged beyond what was needed and it'll take at least a month to grow out :( I've come to this nail salon once before had decent service. This time I wanted to get builder gel nails removed that I had done at another studio. Because I've experienced nail lifting and skin irritation that's pretty painful with acetone soaking before, I called ahead and requested if it is possible I get my builder gel nails removed via just drill. I was told yes, it's possible. They were able to fit me in pretty quickly which was great! After I arrived, I requested them to trim my nails short and remove the polish. Minimal cuticle work necessary but I'd like a manicure with no additional polish needed, just nail strengthener. The lady who greeted me up front said of course, we can do that. However, the technician who was assigned to me did not know what I was asking for. I tried to explain again and was told ok. My service began and all was fine, but then shortly after the drilling started, my technician was replaced with another lady randomly, who I think was in rush despite no other clients I could see waiting at the time. This was the biggest issue -- unlike her prior colleague, she increased the power of the drill super high and started filing away extremely aggressively, and I truly believe she went too hard and either rotation speed was too high or she pressed too hard. I felt heat on my nails I don't think I should've felt, and the tips of at least half my fingernail have been left extremely, EXTREMELY thin. Even with two coats of nail strengthener. She got a bit upset at the three times I flinched I think. After service, I could barely put any pressure on my nails without them bending a little. I've currently already broken two and it's only been two days (one broke when I tried to itch my LEG?!) :(. If you look at my nails from the top you can see the tips are more pink and from the side, even a slight difference in density at the tips. I'm a bit worried of onycholysis as I work a lot with my hands and they're short, so breaking them is painful. I do note that there was a language barrier with second tech as well, so I had to ask at least three times to cut my nails short. That's totally fine. However, I think she got frustrated with me because she'd already begun filing and shaping one nail before she finally understood that I needed them cut. As much as I understand there might be a language barrier with ME, I do wish her colleagues could've communicated what I was requesting to her if they had to hand me off. It's not that I didn't try to communicate either... I bring this up only because I noticed after that she immediately started working way faster and more aggressively and I believe skipped some parts of my service without saying anything. While she did remember to apply coats of nail strengthener, my service ended without any lotion, cuticle oil, or anything like that (and she'd used alcohol on my hands during the process which dried my fingers out) The reason I believe she might've skipped some steps without telling me is because her colleague asked her a question in Vietnamese after and came up to me and said it'd only be $25 for the service today instead of $50 for the manicure I'd wanted. I'm not super familiar with nail removals as I usually just let them grow out and cut them off, so perhaps it was on me to go back to the original studio I got my nails done at to get them removed. But this was my first time getting builder gel done which is tougher and I wanted to go about removal in the appropriate way. I did try to do my due diligence and call in advance to ask if it was possible and ultimately I wish I'd just been told to maybe go elsewhere more experienced with removals with a drill :( Edit: added a star because I had an okay experience w/ this salon in the past
