The person said to make it easier he would need to drill some holes to help hide the wires. He asked if we had paint and said he could patch it. Next thing you know we have a 5"x5" hole in our fireplace along with holes in another wall. The patch was left unfinished. He said he had a paint brush initially and then later said he didn't. Pretty sure he was using a paper towel. Then told me I should paint it in an hour. Called their office and Nikki told me their team doesn't do paint or patching...ok. Why say you can? She couldn't tell me when someone would be back out and never called me back. So we have a mounted tv but now we need a professional painter to come fix the botched patch. Not to mention I spent 30 mins cleaning up after they left.

Once he arrived, I explained that I had been going back and forth for months between upgrading to a soundbar with a sub or investing in a full audio system (receiver, towers, sub, etc...). We spent well over 30 minutes talking through the pros and cons of each, along with important things to consider like the size of the house and living room. Ultimately, I decided that I will be upgrading our current soundbar to a newer and nicer one in the near future. He was extremely polite and patient, taking the time to explain terminology and concepts in a way I could easily understand as we installed and set things up (picture and display settings, 1080p vs. 4K capabilities, audio/video/HDMI cables and what they do, device "switches," and how everything works together) as he was installing things so I'll be able to manage it myself down the road. And he came with mounts and equipment that was better than what I bought and was cheaper as well. I highly recommend him and will definitely be calling him again in the future.

My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

I appreciated his communication with me that they were going to be late. When Guilherme arrived, he was accompanied by Isabella (who I learned was his fiancée who works with him). I couldn't help but feel the job was outside of their scope and abilities so I asked a few times but was assured it was within their capabilities. In the end, I received the most unreasonable quote I've received in my life for any type of work/purchase. I spent some time trying to understand the quote, but the pricing at Momentum is non transparent and the owner/project managers are unable to communicate with their customers. The bid came in at: $353,869. I've attached photos of it in the review for transparency. I've had it quoted by others and the actual job cost is expected to be in the 125k range. I spent a few weeks specifically on the quote to replace the 135 light fixtures. A seperate drywaller was going to remove all of the ceilings in the house and replace them after the work was done. The fixtures are being replaced one for one and the wiring is all in place already. The quote for 135 fixtures from momentum was $86,581.41 or $641 per fixture. Their quoted rate is $140 an hour which works out to 5 hours per fixture. I've since had the same work quoted by others and all have quoted 1 hour per fixture or $140. On this particular item, their quote is 4.5x the industry normal. I spent time on the phone with Tom, the owner, and he expliained that he has a policy with the folks doing his quotes that if he ever loses money, he'll fire them because in the past he has had some jobs where he lost money. This was the explanation he gave me for the quote, on the call which was an escallation to discuss the quote, it was clear he hadn't even looked at it. Matthews explanation was given the finishes in my house, this is how much it would cost. I reminded him the ceiling would be removed with full access to all of the fixtures and the finishing would be done by someone else. I never got a response so I took my business elsewhere. When you look at the quote, make note of this comment: "- Bid assumes all work areas are open and accessible; done by others. " - Access to door/window/frames/casings/decking done by others. All of the challenging work was to be done by others. Also note this at the end of the quote: "Trash removal, dumpster, and debris container fees." For $353,000, they don't clean up after themselves. I don't understand all of the positive reivews of this company which were ultimately what lead me to reach out to them to consider the job.
