The mirror was 48 x 42 and poor quality, plus an ugly stain at the base from the original installation. Banks Glass sent a 2 person crew, Cody & Liam to measure. They explained the removal process that would be used. Very thorough explanation. The replacement mirror had to be ordered and, upon arrival, was inspected and an install date was set up. The installers, Jake and Pete, arrived at 8:00 a.m. and began the task of removing the old mirror. A bit of a job removing the old mirror as it split where the long crack had appeared, thus ending up coming off in large pieces. Never the less, they worked efficiently and professionally and had the new mirror up and installed beautifully. They cleaned everything, vacuuming thoroughly for any pieces of old mirror that may have fallen. Cleaned the new mirror thoroughly. I highly recommend Banks Glass for any glass installation/ replacement. Very professional, excellent staff and installers, well trained and experienced. I also feel the price was very fair.

But unfortunately, it doesn't appear that they take pride in their work. They just came out a couple of weeks ago to install the carpet. Our parents where there as proxy supervisors since we couldn't be there. The area is pretty straight forward with the exception of some built in bunk beds that needed carpet to extend underneath them. The installers raised them as an issue but agreed to finish the area under them by putting padding and gluing the carpet down and adhesive down. Problem is that at the end of the day, they didn't do that. Instead the installer put the padding up to the edge of the bunk beds, not even underneath, and ran the carpet under and just flopped the carpet down--no adhesive or attachment at all. He said that it wasn't serviceable. But somehow my partner and I could both crawl under the bunks... We're still working with Quality Floors & Interiors to correct the issue, so hopefully we can resolve the issue and give them a higher rating. But in the meantime, we can't recommend them in good conscious.

It took 2 weeks, but that's how long it takes for one person to rip out all the old carpet and baseboard, prepare the subfloor, install all the new flooring and base molding, and replace the baseboards, as well as take care of clean-up and disposal. Tony was thoughtful and took the time to do things the right way. He did not cut corners. Customer service in the showroom and during the project was excellent, too! I also felt the price was reasonable and I am so glad I decided against using Lowe's. (I always seem to get lost in the shuffle with them). I LOVE our new floors!

After a long and arduous experience getting the actual windows replaced, Tom was a breath of fresh air (no pun intended) with his prompt response, attention to detail, and excellent value on beautiful plantation shutters (the best cat-proofing known for preserving screens and still having decent air flow without using the air conditioning). We couldn't be happier. Although the lead-time to get the shutters was several weeks (these days, that's pretty darned good), Tom had them installed in one morning. The place looks a million times better with the plantation shutters. The only ones who aren't happy are the two cats who can't sit on the sills and terrorize the windows anymore!

I was recommended Van's as the source for the doors for my new custom home build in Copperopolis by…read moremy general contractor. I oriented myself to doors from YouTube as much as I could--a subject I knew nothing about--and thought through the design style I was looking for. When I went in for my appointment with Dave, sending the blueprints ahead of me, he was able to quickly walk me through the process of selecting my doors. For example, he knew from the blueprint that an exposed front door like mine really had to be fiberglass to hold up to the blazing heat and winter storms. The shaker style interior doors (MDF) were a no-brainer for me, but to choose the front door I had to take catalogues home. There was one stop back to finalize things months later before the order went in, and Dave pointed out that we had changed the front size, which would make the handle disproportionate. Changed it. I wasn't there for the installation process, the contractor coordinated it. It is Thanksgiving day, and I just wanted to thank Dave and his crew. All the doors make me happier than I could have imagined as a new home owner.

Why do you insist on covering a lie with a lie…read more First, Why are most wood burning stoves not UL listed? There are several standards that wood burning stoves must meet. UL listing is not a required standard for stoves, so most manufacturers elect not to have that testing done.. The UL laboratories are a private nonprofit organization that some manufacturers elect to send their products too. This certification can be costly and because the certification is not necessary for wood stoves, most manufacturers do not submit their product to Underwriters Laboratories for approval. There are only three wood-burning stoves that are UL listed Second, the only certification needed is when you install a new wood stove and that requirement is a stove certified by the EPA Third, older wood stoves are grandfathered in and there is no fire code that exist that states that you must upgrade to a new wood-burning stove when you buy or sell. If you do change out the stove, then it must be upgraded to an EPA certified stove Finally, there are manufacturers data plates that are on wood stoves that show the minimum clearances from stove to combustible materials. This particular stove met all the minimum distance requirements to combustible materials. Yes, the fireplace surround was ugly, however it was a cement fiber board that is a non-combustible material. In addition, the stove flue was exposed for the first 5 feet and is of a triple wall design which has a higher heat value. So I stand by my claim that your inspections are fraudulent, froth with misinformation, with intent to upsell or some new products to the person's home that you inspect.
