Why do you insist on covering a lie with a lie. First, Why are most wood burning stoves not UL listed? There are several standards that wood burning stoves must meet. UL listing is not a required standard for stoves, so most manufacturers elect not to have that testing done.. The UL laboratories are a private nonprofit organization that some manufacturers elect to send their products too. This certification can be costly and because the certification is not necessary for wood stoves, most manufacturers do not submit their product to Underwriters Laboratories for approval. There are only three wood-burning stoves that are UL listed Second, the only certification needed is when you install a new wood stove and that requirement is a stove certified by the EPA Third, older wood stoves are grandfathered in and there is no fire code that exist that states that you must upgrade to a new wood-burning stove when you buy or sell. If you do change out the stove, then it must be upgraded to an EPA certified stove Finally, there are manufacturers data plates that are on wood stoves that show the minimum clearances from stove to combustible materials. This particular stove met all the minimum distance requirements to combustible materials. Yes, the fireplace surround was ugly, however it was a cement fiber board that is a non-combustible material. In addition, the stove flue was exposed for the first 5 feet and is of a triple wall design which has a higher heat value. The buying experience with Foothill Fireplace and Spa's was great. I felt everyone (staff) that I came in contact with were very dedicated to their work. I have an old gas stove that was not working. With the cost of propane being outrageous I was looking to bring my energy bill down. I talked with Brice who showed me many options from pellet to wood. Though the pellet options seemed great, I went with a Regency wood insert that came with a lifetime warranty. They took my old stove out and disposed of it at no cost, they extended my chimney, and because they properly trained me about the stove, I had zero issues firing it up and maintaining the heat. I guarantee you will not get that service and training with any big box store. My fireplace warmed up my entire house where it had no problem heating my old drafty house. I was told specifically that the fireplace in the living room could not be used as a gas fireplace as it was not legal because it did not have an automatic lighter and that in order to use the fireplace, I would need to remove the faux wood and only use real wood. I questioned this at the time of inspection and later found out this was not correct. I was given no valid information from this company as to how to get the fireplaces working. Our propane fireplace came with our house that we purchased 5 years ago and we saw that it came from Foothill Fireplace. We requested a basic service 4 years ago and they discovered chimney was not installed correctly and could leak carbon monoxide. They fixed that easily. Worked with Brice for the quote and coordination of the work for a new wood stove and tile surround after purchasing a cabin in Pinecrest, CA. Brice contracted Jay Hagstrom (Mason) for the installation, tile work, re-piping etc... They were both wonderful to work with. Additionally, Dina in the office (brice's wife) was amazing too. Everyone coordinated and got the work done before any weather hit. All the while we were fit in another very large project nearby and the timing really work out very well. There were a couple of questions, hiccups along the way but Dina, Brice and Jay were in stellar customer service form. We are ever so grateful and LOVE our new wood stove and surround area. Showing Brice our concept idea from a Pinterest post he'll helped us understand what type of products we needed and how to choose. We picked a Regency wood stove that fits 16" wood with eash. There's a blower switch which may be used to push the heat in the space. Also, our number one request was to have a 'cooktop' in case we had no power. The first weekend we were able to used the wood stove we had family stay at the cabin with us and there was a PGE shutoff for a week minimum. We were able to cook for seven people right on top of the wood stove. What a total blessing. Without power we were unable to use the blower but we really stoked the unit to keep everyone as comfy and warm as possible. I called on 2/17/22 for pricing, wanted to make an appt but was told the scheduling dept would call me later in the day. I finally received a call back on Friday, 2/18 at 2p from the scheduling dept. They had 2/23 available from 8a-11a, I asked if we could be first since it was my husbands bday and the clerk said they didn't have many scheduled and would put me down for 1st appt. On 2/23 my husband and I woke up at 7a to be ready for the techs but by 9:30a when they didn't show up I called and left a message since the office didn't open til 10a. I was told by Kristy that I never called back to confirm, I explained that when I scheduled it I was never told to call back and confirm, I also checked my mobile phone to see if they called, which they didn't. They tried to schedule for later in the day but we had plans, when I told them I was going to give a review on Yelp I was told that the snow was also a factor on not showing up in the morning. I asked why didn't you call your appts to let them know of a possible cancelation due to weather, I was told it didn't start snowing til 7p, but the forecast did call for snow???? We were involved with the blizzard of 2021. Our wood stove chimney was damaged due to large tree snow sluff. We contacted the foothill (a family run Operated business n) which is great or so we thought. They came out for an estimate of damages - spent 10 minutes. They provided an estimate for a complete replacement stove replacement ~ 10k$. Our insurance co refused the inflated price stating was not needed. Only chimney repair only 3k$. So here we are. No heat for 4 weeks. 4 calls to foothill 2 texts and NO response. We are retired fixed income, freezing our backsides off and still they don't have the professionalism / common curtesy to return any request for communication. Sure sucks that the ethics of the company places job priorities based on net revenue rather the the community needs. So here we are going to ride out winter into spring. Lotsa wood. Regency should rethink foothill as a distributor for such a fine product. read more

She had her team follow up with a visit to my house and not only took care of my ignition issue, but cleaned out the venting and washed the viewing glass.
