John and his crew have completed three separate jobs at my residence. I was so happy with their work painting the entire interior just after I purchased the house that I had them also paint the exterior this year. In between, John and his team did an emergency job after a neighbor's tree fell into my living room. John is experienced at choosing colors and I learned to trust his opinion. He and his crew have a great deal of pride in their work, and it shows. As an added benefit, they are all very positive happy people that you will enjoy having around your house should you care to interact. Fenger painting gets five stars. Put another way, if and when I need to call for another painting job, I'll be calling John. read more

Fenger painting has done a few jobs for us in the past . He has painted the exterior of our house and he has painted a few rooms on the inside . Every time we have worked with him he has been professional, courteous and knowledgeable . He attends to detail and offers great advice to the project at hand . He listens to his customers and gets the project right the first time . Recently we called him out to help us with the trim around one of our windows . While working on this project he noticed one of our gutters was disconnected. He offered to fix it at no additional cost . It seems that he always goes out of his way to help his customers . He offers great ideas and is always there when we need him. Very impressive !! Thanks John very much and will call with additional projects in the near future . From the get-go, John Fenger was as good as his word on communications, adhering to details, and proving the professional that he is! His crew came in like a swat team and tackled days of powerwashing, prep work, spray and back roll paint, trim detail, and even worked meticulously around my pergola (installed up against the house). John worked with us to review color choices, and where to apply trim color (and where not to) to create the most impact. His attention to color and detail, shifting as we went along, is much appreciated. Great advice and a spectacular "new" house. I'm so thrilled and glad that I chose Fenger Painting for this big job! Thank you John, Jose, Chris, Kevin, Jay and Jimmy! read more

Last week John & his crew finished painting the exterior of our large two story Twain Harte vacation home and we couldn't be happier with the results. Communication & coordination was excellent so we could be present to go over any particulars or surprises that inevitably comes up with such an old house. John was working along side his friendly crew every day and they were able to efficiently get the large project done in one week, start to finish. You can't go wrong working with Fenger Painting. One word of warning; you will need to schedule a large project like ours for the following Summer (which we had to do) because John is in such high demand. Richard J. Twain Harte read more

John and his crew painted the inside of my house just over 2 yrs ago. They did a great job, so I had them come back this month and paint the outside of the house. Once again...so pleased with their work. In addition to great painting work overall, I feel John brings so much more to the project. We painted our exterior of our home here in Twain Harte as soon as we bought it. It was a awful blue. We went for a beautiful lighter gray, darker gray and taupe accents for deck and shingles. Well it looks amazing! They even did a accent front door in teal! We love it. I have recommended them to friends and they did a great job there too. Thanks guys. Missing one star due to using using too much of our water for clean up ): other than that stellar Job. read more

My mother-in-law needed work done both on the outside and inside of her house before she put it on the market so we contacted several local paint companies. Fenger Painting not only responded timely, but also had great explanations of work to be completed and timeframe. Fenger painting came highly recommended. We are extremely happy with the work they've done on our home's exterior...we've got a tricky second story set on a slope, but these guys had no problem with it at all. And the owner, John, just never stops working. He was present and supervising everyday, checking in with me several times a day via text or email. John knows his stuff, takes pride in his work, and patiently helped me navigate the details. Fenger painting finished the work way before promised with absolutely no problems. Yay for perfectionists, everything looks great too!! read more

Had John and his crew do my house and what a great job. They worked when it was over a 100 degrees getting it all prepped out. That's dedication! Numerous coats primer and scraping involved. It was a difficult home to paint due to its age, back height, and side shingles. He was very reasonable, good with helping on colors and most amazingly on time and had us a bid the next day! If anyone has had anything done up here you will appreciate the professionalism that he projects and the quality work him and his men do. I know he will be doing our interior in a few years when we remodel. read more

We had John paint our house in Miwuk. He met us first to talk over the job and gave us great advice. He gave a detailed analysis of what was needed and answered all our questions. He got a bid to us promptly and started work in a timely manner. John had taken a paint sample and gotten paint mixed to match that sample. However, when he started, John felt the paint color was too light. On his own, he got new paint mixed that was a perfect match. We are completely satisfied and will be very pleased to work with John again on any of our painting needs. read more

I have wanted to paint the exterior of my home for years and it took seeing Fenger Painting on Yelp to know I'd found what I'd been searching for. I wanted someone who understood what I needed was more than someone to just apply paint to my 1929 home in Sonora. On our second meeting I felt John completely understood the vision I wanted to achieve. And DID they! I've always thought of my home as a SHE and being an older woman myself, I wanted her to, once again, embrace the historic nature, construction and style of the 1929 era...Thanks to John and his marvelous team, they gave me a home that was repaired, repainted and reborn in marvelous style. John was on site each day, his team is cheerful, skilled and has acute attention to detail. He listened to the colors I wanted and also made suggestions for detail I hadn't considered. John is generous and caring as well as talented. Trust me, I will return for my next painting needs. read more

John and his crew painted the exterior of our PML home, which was severely weathered. He went above and beyond to be sure we were happy with his work - they even stained the retaining wall on the driveway to match at no charge. John is very knowledge with color so he provided color samples and guided us perfectly to the look we wanted. The job was started and finished on schedule and he communicated well with me throughout the process, which was very important because we live in the Bay Area and I never actually met him. He is definitely your normal mountain contractor - he was professional, reliable, and very nice. I will definitely use him again. read more
