I created this Yelp account so that I could leave this review. Layne (the owner) has truly created an incredible moving company and thus moving experience. I first contacted Layne over email requesting information. I had told him all the nitty gritty details. On the morning of the move Layne let us know that the time slot we scheduled would have to move since two of his guys were hit hard by this season of sickness. While it was a mild annoyance to wake up early for a 8-9am arrival and it not pan out we would rather not have movers who would get us sick. As soon as Jacona & Jacob contacted us it was flawless. The men were so kind and funny. They responded to every complicating factor and made everything seem like it was perfect. The move from one 2nd floor apartment to another 2nd floor apartment across town. I will tell you that watching them hoist my heaviest furniture effortlessly in the air was true entertainment. The best my husband and I could do was stay out of the way and enjoy the witty banter. They finished the move quickly and it was worth every. freaking. cent. It is one thing for movers to be kind to the customer. In the South, I almost expect this from people. However, what truly set them apart was the kindness and camaraderie that they showed one another. Jacob & Jacona were always saying "please," "thank you," and constantly checking in with each other to make sure everything was okay for them. I was absolutely floored by how well they treated one another. I've never had such a painless moving experience and I will forever return to using this company. If you have anxiety issues with having strange people in your home I can promise you that Simpler Moving will put you at ease and immediately change your perspective on moving. read more

Conner & Will were absolutely outstanding. There were some scheduling issues on Friday w/ prior clients underestimating their needs that led to a reschedule on Saturday, then a further slight delay for the same reasona on Saturday. I had some flexibility on Saturday so it worked out, & Connor kept me in the loop at all times on Friday & Saturday, both. Connor & Will were professional, cheerful (who can do that in 100 degree heat hauling stuff from a 3rd floor apartment??? Those two!), asked questions to make sure they were clear on my needs & expectations, & were wonderful to work with. On Friday Connor told me he'd work to get a discount for the trouble, & he cut my bill from $300 to $150 on Saturday after further delays. That's serious customer service, especially given they couldn't possibly anticipate prior clients' additional work until they got there. I'm happy to be a referral for your business & will be pimping you on both Yelp & Facebook once I get a few things settled at home. I couldn't have asked for better movers both in the care they had for my belongings, the way they kept me in the loop when things weren't going as planned, & in their attitudes the entire time. We have moved 4 times in 8 years. WIthin Chicago. From Chicago to Dallas. From Dallas to Austin. And now within Austin. This was, by far, the best move we have ever experienced. Let me tell you why: 1) Like most folks, we requested multiple quotes. Layne, the owner of the company, got back to me within minutes. He was the only one of 6 companies who actually came to our home to give us an accurate quote. He was tremendously accommodating when we booked our times. 2) The guys showed up and were extremely hard working, kind, honest, and positive. Best of all, they were always willing to do the extra step - move things a little further, put things together when not required, checking multiple times if there was anything else that could be done. I cannot stress how professional these guys were. 3) 5 days before the move, we had to switch the move to 1 day later. They were already completely booked. Instead of saying "no" like most companies (and as I have been told before), Layne told me not to worry, that they would make it work even if they had to stay late. And they did. They moved the move to a Saturday despite the fact that they were already booked up and worked till 9:30 at night with a continuously positive attitude. These guys are phenomenal. If I could give this company 10 stars I would. I have never had this good of a moving experience, ever. First off, my original movers didn't show up so I was scrambling on what to do, I had to be out that day and I have a 1800sq foot 3 bedroom home. I found Simpler Moving with a quick search and saw all of their awesome reviews, so i gave them a call Shane was the gentleman who helped me out and he was so nice and polite, I explained my situation and he immediately reassured me that they would be able to make sure my move goes as stress free as possible going forward. He called his operations manager Conor, to verify that we had a crew available. THEY DID!!!! They even arrived to my house in under 45 minutes ! I was shocked. When the movers arrived, they made sure to ask me about my items, Will and Alex could not have been more professional young men. They finished my job for LESS than what the other company quoted me, and they actually showed up I will NEVER search for another moving company as long as I am in Texas. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I was in between jobs and apartments and needed to find someone to help me move in 24 hours. I got referred to Layne through a friend and could not be more pleased with the way he runs Simpler Moving. I had called him a little stressed out given the circumstance and Layne and his team delivered. He got me scheduled and gave me the run down on everything that would happen during the moving process. His knowledge and friendliness really put me at ease throughout the entire process and his team was extremely efficient and friendly. I've dealt with some moving companies in town in the past who seemed to be on their own time frame and didn't take the best of care with my things, but Simpler Moving knocked it out the park. I have moved a number of times in my life and feel like somewhat of a pro. I usually know what to expect - and not expect - from movers. I was pleasantly surprised when I found Simpler Moving. They were extremely professional and accommodating when I scheduled the move. But the real surprise came when the movers showed up. Will and Connor were also professional, polite and accommodating. They arrived when they were scheduled, began hustling immediately. They emptied the house quickly and even beat me to the new house. There is an extremely steep driveway at the new house - too steep for a moving truck. They made nothing of it and literally walked every item - including washer, dryer and refrigerator - up the driveway. They finished the entire job in record time with nothing damaged - and somehow kept their great attitudes throughout the move. It cost much less than I anticipated. 5/1 Layne had his furniture guy come out to fix the damage to the wall, entertainment center and table. We are currently working on getting the TV matter rectified. Layne has been professional and has kept my father in the loop on what can/will be done. I will update furonce this is all settled 5/7 Layne the owner has been very helpful and willing to fix the furniture and pay for the TV. He has checked in daily to make sure everything is going to our specifications. After working with Layne for these last several days, he truly stands behind service and wants to make sure his customers are happy. Being in the service industry myself I know mistakes happen it's what the person does to correct those mistakes that matters. Can't say enough good things about Simpler Moving. As stressful as a move can be when Jaconah and Abraham showed up this Saturday they instantly made me feel much better and ensured all would be good! And it was that and beyond. They took care and caution with all my belongings-wrapped up my artwork to make sure it was well protected as well as all my furniture. They were simply amazing! Highly recommend Simpler moving if you are in the market. Lastly, I was looking for referrals for a cleaning company to make my place ready for move out-they did and the cleaning co. showed up on Sunday and did a fabulous job-Pretty Penny. They also gave me a referral to TV mounting and setup company and they did with Austin TV installation...which are coming to my new place tomorrow. Now this is excellent customer service! Me and my girlfriend were moving apartments and didn't really know what to expect when it came to moving services since this was our first go at it. And over all it went absolutely amazing, Layne showed up on time and was ready to work and beyond friendly right out of the gates. Him and his coworker introduced there selves and promptly got to work, they treated all of our belongings like our own which gave us great peace of mind because the last thing we wanted to be doing was looking over someone's shoulder constantly. It was such a great experience and first impression I wouldn't even think of using any other service next time I move out. I am updating a 1-star review I left earlier because a claim for damage to a desk was ignored. The owner of Simpler Moving contacted me and has now made it right with a check that fully covers the damage. As I stated earlier, his entire moving crew showed up on time, worked hard and tirelessly filling two large trucks for a whole-house out-of-town move, and generally did a very good job meeting our expectations. One of the four-person crew appeared to be new and perhaps a little inexperienced on techniques, but the other three seemed very experienced, conscientious, and worked well together to keep on schedule for a one-day-all-day move from Round Rock to Conroe, near Houston. Except for the delay in settlement for damage to a small desk, which has now been very fairly addressed, I would rate the experience as 5 stars. read more

Being in the apartment industry, moving has become second nature. Often, a hassle even. After moving myself so much, over the last 3-4 years, I just decided to start using movers. I had to move twice in the last 3 weeks and its a shame that Simpler Moving did not take care of both my moves! They will however, be the only company I use from here on out. Simpler Moving is just that...moving made simple! From the initial call, through the unloading process, and even after the move was completed; it was by far the best moving experience I have had. Layne and Simpler Moving were recommended by my realtor, and they did not disappoint. The move itself was quick and efficient. Unlike many other moving companies where I had to fight when the job took many hours more (and maybe additional materials were used for no reason other than to jack up the price), the quote matched the final price. All of my stuff was handled delicately and with the greatest care, all while moving at light speed. What really set Simpler Moving apart was their ability to be flexible. My "pods" didn't arrive until past normal working hours, along with some other snafus along the way. Layne made sure a team was assembled right away to make up for the unforeseen problems, even though they didn't cause it! I can't recommend Simpler Moving highly enough. read more

I have moved ALOT! I have used big name companies everybody knows, I've used mid size and mom and pops, THIS WAS MY BEST MOVE EVER! We did all the packing and these guys worked their hearts out taking care and moving us and ALOT of stuff! Antiques, tools, fragile, all done with attention to detail. What impressed me was the courtesy they showed, not only to us, but to each other which made the teamwork really click! Even at the end of a 16 hr day (we moved a long distance) my Simpler Moving men were still smiling!! I used a color coded system and they made sure to use it, putting each box exactly where it needed to be, so no shuffling boxes around for me after the move. I HIGHLY recommend this company and know for sure, should I need to move again, they will be my first call!! read more

Super Satisfied with Simpler Moving! I was scheduled for between 9-10 and they came at 9; practically on the second. When the three guys came in, they looked around to see what was being moved and got to business right away. They were extremely professional and efficient, but very personable (you don't always get that). The doozy of the move was that I was moving to the Domain. For any who know the Domain area, you know how difficult it is to maneuver around. They had to work from a loading dock, and a decent walk to a service elevator. They were completely prepared and amazingly enough, they unpacked in about 1 1/2 hours. My total move was 3 hours; including travel time! Totally amazing! I would totally recommend Simpler Moving and I would for sure use them on my next move. read more

Lane and Kevin were great!!! From beginning to end I had absolutely no complaints. Lane called the night before as a reminder and called to let me know they were on the way and showed up early. They were completely professional the entire time and worked together as a team. If those two didn't get along I wouldn't have been able to tell. I moved from the 3rd floor to another apartment a few miles away on the 3rd floor and they got it done in about 4hrs. Trust me I had a lot of stuff and I am sure it was heavy. They never complained and keep me updated as they went. They will properly protect and secure your items, and point out any issues prior to loading your items so you don't have any surprises later. Ashton was polite, very helpful, informative and pleasant to deal with in scheduling my move. I had concerns as I have older, unique pieces of mid-century modern furniture and it was raining the day of the move. Grant, Matt and Edwin did a superb job. They wrapped all the furniture and were very methodical and very careful with everything. They made sure to take care when moving the older pieces. They asked me where I wanted furniture placed and were really helpful in putting boxes and bins exactly where I wanted them. I would highly recommend them. They did not waste time nor did they rush to get my things out the door. A very organized, orderly and smooth move that saved me both money and time. I would definitely use them again. Dillon and team helped us move on a Saturday. They were scheduled to come in between 7 - 8 AM. I got a courtesy call from Dillon at 7:30 letting me know they are 15 minutes away and they were in by 8. They took a small tour of the house to understand what has to be moved and what cannot be. They were even courteous enough to take a big house plant which they normally don't. They were done loading up in around 3.5 hours. Way faster than I imagined. Unloading was a breeze as it took them just 2 hours. Overall I was very happy with the move as it was very professionally done and they were very careful with all of the fragile stuff we had during our move as well. WOW! Simpler moving exceeded my expectations when it came to professionalism and quality assurance. Not only were Layne and his team very knowledgeable and prompt, but also friendly. Their rates were competitive, but the service was unmatched. They moved my roommate and I out of 2nd story apartment to an older complex with small staircases and door frames, but were able to make it work in an orderly time, all while keeping positive attitudes. I've had problems with movers being rude and negligent with my things in the past, so I had my worries, but like I said, my expectations were exceeded by the this new company and I will 100% be using them again, as well as referring them to anyone I know moving. Amazing! I needed new movers at the 11th hour due to a few of life's hurdles. I asked some of my IG friends and was recommended to you guys via Shane Harvey's network. Shane was fantastic and put us on the books for the following afternoon. The movers showed up hours late and put us pretty far behind schedule - however, we were not disappointed in the least. These guys hustled HARD to make up for lost time, and were nothing but extremely polite, genuine, and hard working. (I kid you not, I've never seen boxes and furniture fly so fast. They were loaded and ready to go in an hour and 10 minutes!) I loved using Simpler Moving, and will continue to do so in future moves as my 1st choice!
