I spoke with the owner, Lane, the next day and he said he would write a check or repair the item. He said he would contact me via email. Due to an unforseen life changing event, I had to sell my house and move in with family. We've always moved our items ourselves but decided to hire a moving company this time around. I chose Simpler Moving based upon reviews and I was not disappointed. We received a text 15 minutes before our scheduled moving time and then Ashton, one of the movers, called us 5 minutes prior to arrival. Ashton and Jacob both greeted us and were very respectful. They moved quickly to gather an idea of the items to be moved and the logistics of the building. Ashton then reviewed the moving agreement with me and then they quickly gathered their moving equipment and carefully wrapped our furniture and loaded it on to their truck. They secured each piece and then explained that they would use GPS and we did not need to wait for them, they would be at our destination in no time. They arrived shortly after us and then gathered an idea of where everything was to be moved and then as quickly as they loaded the truck it was unloaded. Usually I'm never the guy that go on and write a bad review after a less than favorable experience with a company but THIS company did such a bad job, I feel the need to share the experience to hopefully prevent someone else from having anything even close to as bad an experience as we did. First of all, all of the following happened to my soon to be mother in law who is a retired, disabled veteran. She contracted with the company to pack up, move the items from her apartment in San Marcos to her new house in Wimberley. They did a HORRIBLE JOB!! They came in, packed for about 3 hours(this was a 3 bedroom apartment completely full of large furniture and lots of knick knacks) ran out of boxes, said they needed and left and NEVER came back that day! So when their crew comes back(different guys, but same company) a couple of days later to actually move her things nothing is packed like it supposed to be. They load what was packed and what would fit in the truck and unpacked it at the new house, with the understanding that another crew was already on the way to pack up and move the remaining 60% of what was left. Despite numerous assurances that the crew was coming by the owner, no one else ever showed up! At this point we are all trying to figure out wtf is going on with this company and the owner who had been the point of contact on the job simply stops taking our calls. He never sent the second crew, he didnt follow up to let us know what was supposed to be happening on the job moving forward... NOTHING! Because we were stuck with the move out date being that day we had to rent a uhaul and pack up everything and move it ourselves. The asshole owner even had the balls to process the second half of the payment that was to be paid upon the completion of the job despite the company getting no where near completing what they are contractually responsible to do. DO NOT EVER HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

Layne was the quickest to respond as well as the cheapest after getting other cost estimates. Layne walked me through the process calling prior to moving date and on moving day. Excellent customer service skills and expertise in logistics. This is my first time using movers in Texas. The movers were communicative and diligent. For the most part, everything went fine. However, they did seem to be in a hurry near the end as there were some problems putting together my bed. After they left, I noticed the headboard was not put on properly as it was not flushed together. I know that they would have fixed it if I had seen it but I wish that they would have inspected the bed more closely as it was a more expensive bed. I had bought the bedroom furniture brand year when I moved to Texas several years and this is the first time that it's had to be disassembled and then reassembled. Next time, I'll definitely pay closer attention to the aspect of moving.
