I was in the area with my mom for a craft fair and we wanted something sweet to walk around with. It's on the side street of the main street the fair was on Honolulu Ave. The cashier was really friendly and she was super sweet, I got a strawberry matcha with boba and almond milk and my mom got the strawberry banana smoothie. There was one girl that ordered ahead of us so I knew it shouldn't take long, but I was wrong. I also ordered a regular size but the guy made it in a large cup so I'll take it for how long we waited (made up for it). Taste: 7/10 the strawberry matcha was good, boba was a little sticky instead of squishy. 10/10 for the smoothie my mom enjoyed it (no complaints)

Whenever I'm in Montrose, I normally come to Simplee Boba. I love their Mango Black Tea and ocassionally their Mango Slush and House Milk Tea. Their place is great, offering claw machines, fun games, tons of seating tables, display of snacks, and a bathroom. Their service is great and they always make my drinks good.

Lavender iced boba?! Obbsseessseddd! I do love how lavendar tastes and smells; don't get me started on my love for boba. But I never thought I'd exist in a world where I could taste a lavendar boba drink. I'm so blessed Simplee Boba is my spot! Located at the heart of Montrose, Simplee Boba is a lovely boba joint. They have various flavors and blends of drinks, with or without boba. I've tried smoothie, slushies, and iced teas. My top 2 is the lavender drink and rose one - with EXTRA boba of course!! Parking is super easy at Montrose. Metered street parking available as well as littl parking lots around Montrose if you want to explore the little area with your delicious boba drink!

A boba shop with good, chewy boba like the chain boba joints!! My friends and I loved our drinks. - very Yummo Signature milk tea has its own taste, not like other boba places-75% perfect sweet. Boba slightly sweetened, wished it was soaked in more syrup. Jasmine Mango Passionfruit tea is also similar to a regular boba shop :) Self service kiosks, easy to order.

Butterfly limeaid nice tart and sweet just like me Their peach guava green tea was over steep and very tart. Their salted caramel milk tea was amazing ! Perfect, at first I thought too sweet but then it was actually just right ! The staff was nice enough to change my green tea cause I just couldn't do it. Sadly the replacement was still bitter, I still think it's the tea. But the boba and the egg pudding is good. It's nice boba is free ! Their side room is like a storage room but at least for a small place it has seating . It's a cute little place. Seems like something that would be around like a middle school where children would like to hang out.

You can't see any employees behind this wall, it just feels impersonal.

From a humble beginning in China to world renowned boba shop, HeyTea is one of the most famous boba…read morebrands. This location is small and more of a grab and go but still delivers on the essentials. The focus is on providing an elevated tea experience with signature premium teas and fresh fruits. HeyTea popularized cheese tea which is now a staple at many bubble tea stores. HeyTea is a must visit for any bubble tea enjoyer. Yes, the lines are long. Yes, the prices can be high. But what you get in return is deliciousness in a cup. If you have patience, maybe wait a few weeks for things to settle. Maybe I'm going crazy or perhaps I'm romanticizing a bit, but I do feel as the quality is not the same as it was years ago. Having tried HeyTea on multiple continents (Asia, Australia, etc.) over the years, either the magic has slightly worn off or perhaps it was inevitable that as they grew, some things would slip through the cracks. That being said, the quality is still top notch but it doesn't seem as unmatched as before when they were alone at the top. This location is clean and modern but definitely not their best unfortunately. It is also on the smaller side. The staff is efficient and friendly. Would recommend periodically checking on the app for them to open online orders so you can skip the lines; huge time saver. Overall, HeyTea remains one of the top bubble tea chains and the long lines are a testament of the hype.

Yesterday (October 3rd, Saturday) I got a Mango Coconut Boom at Hey Tea in the Glendale Galleria…read more The line for the kiosk was long, so I went to the counter and asked if I could order here. A female staff member said I could, so I ordered at the counter and asked her what drinks could be made caffeine-free. She very kindly told me that if I let her know which drink I wanted, she would make it without caffeine for me. The female staff who took my order was incredibly friendly. I ordered the Mango Coconut Boom, and it was great that they had a display board showing which order numbers were currently being made while I waited. After waiting for about 5 to 8 minutes, my drink came out, and it was really delicious. It wasn't too sweet and was very refreshing. (I actually try to avoid drinking sugary drinks because of my teeth. Ever since spending a fortune at the dentist a few years ago, I've been taking extra care of my teeth. So I usually don't drink sweet beverages, but this one didn't bother my teeth at all, which made it even better.) The only downside is that this location doesn't have any tables or seating space. Still, the drink was so delicious and refreshing that I finished it in a flash, and the staff who took my order was so friendly, which was great. (Even when Starbucks gives out free drinks sometimes with my reward points, I never order a Venti because I think it's a waste to order a large size just because it's free if I can't even finish it. So I just ordered a regular size yesterday, but it was so good that I drank it so fast.) I heard Hey Tea is very popular lately and that a lot of people love it, so I went out of curiosity yesterday, and I am completely satisfied.

Biscoff cookie milk tea: I wanted to try this out since it sounded interesting and I'm a big fan of biscoff cookies. The flavor was good, but the drink was a little too grainy from the cookies mixed in. I think this could be really good blended up as a slush instead. Ube slush: This was soooo good. I got 50% sweetness and that was perfect. I would definitely get this again and I want to try other slush flavors. Overall, it's worth a visit if you're craving boba, and especially nice if it's 3-6 PM.

Parking is pretty bad around here, all paid parking, meters, etc. unless you are at the Glendale Mall which has a free parking structure thankfully. We got lucky with a metered parking spot around the corner so we walked over. Not busy at all, we were the only customers there and this young lady helped us while she was talking to her friend on her cellphone. Must be slow enough lol. Ordered the Sunrise and just a classic Milk Tea. Super cute cups with rounded bottoms, I really like the size of these boba cups since it's perfect for me. Drinks were alright and boba was pretty good texture-wise, but got tired of it really fast. The drinks were overall just okay, wasn't anything crazy but satisfied our boba craving. Wish there were more spots out here! IG: @ammysalamii

Relaxing tea house with hangout vibes (still finding its rhythm)…read moreStopped by Monstera Tea House and the first thing I noticed was how bright and airy the space feels. The interior leans minimalist -- lots of white, light wood tabletops, and green plant accents that match the "Monstera" name. It's a calm and comfortable space to sit for a while. They also have board games like chess, Uno, and Jenga, which makes it feel more like a casual hangout spot than just a quick grab-and-go tea shop. What I ordered: Peach Hibiscus tea with rainbow jelly 5 macarons (pistachio x2, vanilla, strawberry, and another flavor everything except caramel) Fried chicken tenders & fries combo They offer 10% off if you follow them on Instagram or Facebook, which brought my total to about $25. The Peach Hibiscus tea ended up being the highlight. It was refreshing and not overly sweet, and the rainbow jelly added a fun texture. I was a little disappointed they were out of boba, since that's usually my go-to topping. The macarons looked nice visually but the flavors didn't quite come through. The pistachio in particular tasted mostly sweet rather than having a distinct pistachio flavor. The shells were also a bit chewy with slightly uneven edges. The fried chicken tenders and fries ended up being the biggest issue. Two guests ahead of me had already been waiting around 30 minutes before I even placed my order. After ordering, it became clear the kitchen hadn't actually started the food yet. I could hear one staff member explaining to another how to make the tenders and mentioning that the process takes about 7 minutes total. Hearing that while watching orders sit unprepared made the delay a bit confusing. The couple ahead of me had ordered about 10 minutes before I did and still hadn't received their food either. The staff seemed to be enjoying themselves and chatting, which is great for morale, but the service side didn't feel very focused on getting orders out in a timely way. Eventually I decided to ask for a refund rather than continue waiting. I also noticed they sell $18 individual cakes that come in small square tins (similar to tiramisu containers). They might taste great, but visually they looked fairly simple, so the price point felt a bit high for what you see. Overall: The space itself is pleasant and the tea was refreshing. It's also nice that they provide games for people to hang out. Unfortunately, between the food delays, items being out of stock, and the feeling that the kitchen wasn't fully prepared yet, the experience ended up feeling like a lot of money spent without much payoff. Personally it's not a spot I'd return to, though the atmosphere may still appeal to people looking for a place to relax and play a game

If you love boba specifically, you may be underwhelmed but if you love floral milk teas, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The difference may be subtle or lost on some, but it may perfectly speak to others. The star of the show is their premium Jasmine milk tea. It's the pertect cup of light, floral, milky tea. The staff is moving fast and with a purpose; you shouldn't be waiting long for your drinks. The atmosphere was girly, clean, and bright. We ordered through a kiosk. I got the premium jasmine milk tea and my boyfriend got the Tongmu Lapsang Milk tea. The Jasmine Milk tea did indeed have a strong tea flavor which I thoroughly enjoyed. The Tongmu Lapsang was too sweet for my liking, and the tea flavor was overpowered by the brown sugar. The boba had a really strong brown sugar flavor, which threw me off. It was too sweet and overwhelming in the milk tea, so next time I'd probably enjoy without the boba. The texture was perfectly chewy, though! Service was quick and and efficient. We had no issues with our drinks and it helped that there was a TV screen to follow the progress of your order. Hopefully, a location will open up in OC!
