I really like this place. It has such a good vibe, friendly, casual and creatve comfort food. You can't go wrong for a satisfyingly good breakfast. Spur of the moment we ran over for some food and it was perfect. Settled in a place to sit (option of indoor or outdoor-sidewalk front or back patio) and we chose indoor. It's fun to watch how many folks come and go and seem to be regulars. That's a good sign of consistency with good food and service. Menus came quickly along with coffee and water. I ordered my all time favorite-lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes, along with the sausage option. They are always awesomely tasty. Fluffy with just the right amount of lemon flavor. I truly have a hard time ordering anything else. They have good looking baked goods and pies to purchase in the front counter. This is one of those restaurant/cafes you find in small towns. It just has such a pleasant energy. Do try it. read more

So this place is not fancy inside at all, and needs new chairs or the chairs painted. Please do not let the decor fool you, as the food was delicious! This restaurant was recommended to me the last time I was in Lincoln. Today I drove from my town 25 minutes each way to finally check it out for myself. The Ranch dressing was fabulous, the ice tea came in a huge jug, the blackberry pie was yummy. It is rare I give a restaurant 5 stars. I was sitting near the kitchen; and everything coming out looked so good. The young man waiting on me was very patient with me, as I got carried away and needed to go items. I will be back with friends. Thank you for making me like Lincoln now, as it has been growing on me slowly. Maria read more

I was in Lincoln today taking care of some business, and this place was right next to where I had parked my car. So, I decided to check it out. It is a nice space, and they are doing a good job of keeping the tables distanced. I was greeted right away, and taken to my seat. I decided to have the Black German. Hot pastrami, sauerkraut, melted swiss cheese, on dark rye. It normally comes with mayo, but I asked them to swap out the mayo with thousand island dressing, and pretty much make it a reuben. The sandwich was delicious, except for a couple of small things. I wish they could have used a little bit more dressing, and the pastrami was pretty much cold in the middle. I didn't send it back, because it was still good, and I had to get going. The sandwich also comes with your choice of potato salad, macaroni salad, or a side salad. I had the side salad with a delicious honey mustard dressing. In addition to the lettuce, it also came with cheese, sunflower seeds, and alfalfa sprouts. Lunch and ice tea came out to a total of $14 before tip. Pretty reasonable. Thanks for the meal. read more

Their food isn't bad. It's a very limited menu in my opinion, my feedback with that is if you're going to do some simple dishes, you need to do them really spectacularly, and unfortunately, that was not that I got when I had visited disability. I tried there blueberry and lemon pancake, but when I got them, they were burnt. My toast was burnt too, and my dish was cold. My husband loves this place though. I think that they priced fairly and the food is tasty when it's prepared properly. read more

Love this little café. We were in Lincoln visiting the area and stumbled on this café in downtown Lincoln, located in a historic building. We were seated on the back patio. Mr. B was in need of coffee as we had been driving for several hours. The coffee was great and the saying on the mugs puts a smile on your face, see photos. We ordered the Missy Melt to split with a side of potato salad. The sandwich was big, so we were glad we split it. The sandwich has turkey, black forest ham with melted swiss and American cheese on dark rye. We added avocado. The sandwich was delicious. The cheese was perfectly melted, the avocado fresh and creamy. The turkey and ham was high quality and so fresh. The potato salad was creamy and fresh. We loved this place. The service was excellent, food came out fast and everyone was so very friendly. read more

Great food great service. Food is very reasonable. Love this place. Rib eye steak sandwich is my favorite. Only $16.

Quant little place AND VERY POPULAR. Went there with brother; my first time. I ordered a tuna melt with fries and iced tea with mint. Brother ordered the steak sandwich and fries and a black iced tea. To go, I ordered a slice of carrot cake and a mixed berry pie. My tuna melt was OK. The fries were crispy and delicious. But my brother's steak sandwich was the BOMB! He even gave me a bite's worth and OMG! The steak was oh so tender and flavorable. I know what I'm ordering next time for sure. His iced black tea really tasted like black tea and I loved my iced tea with a hint of refreshing mint. Definitely will reorder this again. Or maybe the iced black tea. As for the carrot cake? Good, but not something I'd reorder. And then there was the mixed berry pie. From the flakey crust to the various fruits in the pie itself -- DIVINE! Must have more. I can't wait to take Darling Husband there for lunch. He'll be ordering the steak sandwich, too, just like me. read more

This hidden gem in old Town Lincoln is almost hidden in plain sight. Aaron and his friendly, awesome staff made every guest feel special. The food and ambiance are top-notch. The name kind of says it all. It reminds me of a sandwich I would make for myself when I was a kid. Good portions of meat on simple good bread. Sprouts too. I haven't had those since college. Maybe it's just living in Oregon but I miss them. The soup was ok. I don't feel like I should have to add Tabasco but once I did it made it better. We opted for a slice of pie too. Great crust. Haven't had a good pie in a while. Service was great. Very warm and welcoming. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! Everything they make is absolutely phenomenal! It's a small restaurant located in downtown Lincoln. They're only open for breakfast/lunch, and they're only open from M-F. We've only had lunch here but that's what got us hooked! Their sandwiches and salads are so darn good and fresh. My hubby is hooked on their Grass Roots Sammie and although I love that sandwich, I like to try new sandwiches. I've tried the Philly Dilly and steak sandwich(available on Thurs, and Friday), homemade soups, and desserts! Their carrot cake is outstanding! But that Grass Roots has us coming back, every time! Their potato salad is Amazing, as well. We love their potato salad so much that we bought a jar of their dressing, but to our dismay, didn't taste like the original. They no longer carry it, which is comforting to know because it didn't come close. They take so much pride in their plates, it's always been fantastic. We've never had a disappointing experience, Ever! There isn't enough adjectives to describe how fantastic the food is here! Simple Pleasures is truly one of those places that is a small town favorite! read more

I've been eating here for years. The food is always fresh, delicious, and consistent. The service is always kind and quick. The addition of the online ordering option means it is so easy to order and pick up on busy days or during the pandemic. I love Simple Pleasures. I've enjoyed eating on the patio as well as gotten the $40 pre-made dinner delivered, both are delightful. The delivery meals are amazing, $40 for a main and 2 sides that feed a family of 4-6. I especially love the meatloaf meal. I enjoy stopping in for breakfast on the street, or on the back patio, they have tents set up with open sides. They have the most amazing desserts. I love the 7-layer best, but literally, everything is delicious! One of the nicest parts is the kids meals for an affordable few bucks. It's right next to a grassy area so the kids can play while they wait for meals. Overall, in this terrible horrible 2020 time, simple pleasures is welcoming, feels safe, and is a great way to spend time enjoying life in our new normal. read more

Nice local stop to grab lunch. Food is decent, dogs allowed in outside seating areas.

We used Simple Pleasure's Catering for my daughter's wedding in June at the Willow Ballroom. She was one of five excellent Caterer's we were allowed to choose. Diana and her crew have earned that Honor as a result of their consistently excellent service and food. In addition, we hired Simple Pleasure's to be our "Day of Coordinator" and also to hang white papel picado streamers at the venue. About the food, "...AMAZING!!" We booked Simple Pleasures because Diana seemed to understand exactly what we were looking for in a Caterer. We knew the food would be awesome because of all the wonderful reviews. When we went for the tasting, Diana hosted eight of us (parents/bride/groom/Wedding Planner) to a delicious dinner. But, the best news is - the food was just as delicious on the day of the wedding! All the guests said they had a terrific meal. Everything came out warm/tasty/displayed beautifully and served by the nicest staff. In case you don't know, a Wedding Caterer does so much more than prepare the food... the Catering Team takes care of all your rentals, linens and much of the wedding display/decor. The "event" was executed flawlessly! They even went above and beyond to help care for some of the floral that got a little tired before the Reception started. The guests had no idea... everything just looked magical. Day of Coordinator Services: Diana, the owner assigned two very capable women to attend to the couple's every need. Rebecca was at my daughter's side the entire day. She handled every detail swiftly and professionally, like ensuring my daughter's dress that ripped when she sat down in the car was repaired, "on the spot." My daughter said out loud to her new husband, "I'm not even going to cry because I know Rebecca will fix it." In addition to Rebecca, that I got to spend more time with, our Wedding Coordinator and my daughter want to ensure I mention Anna as well. Anna was on top of her game and was very instrumental in the overall success of the Wedding. I don't want to forget to mention that all the staff were so personable and accommodating. The experience of the Simple Pleasure's Catering Team cannot be understated. If you select Simple Pleasure's Catering, I'm sure you too will have, "The Best Day Ever!" We wholeheartedly recommend Simple Pleasure's Catering if you want to have a worry free day and enjoy the Wedding! Thank you Diana and your awesome team!! read more
