This place is absolutely ridiculous! I got here exactly at 8:00 am for a chest xray. I was told there was no one in front of me and it would be 20 minutes. Well 40 minutes later I'm still being "checked in". And now they are telling me I owe $30, I don't pay anything for diagnostics. I have to get the xray completed today or I'd walk out the damm door! I ended up waiting over and hour to get an xray done that literally took 90 seconds to complete. I also got to deal with a super rude front desk guy that argued with me about my copay and wait time even after I got my insurance company on the phone and she also told him repeatedly I didn't have a copay. I'm here to have my shoulder looked at. They ask you to be here 30 min early in order to fill out paperwork. The 2 pages that they gave me to fill out wouldn't take any normal person 30 minutes to fill out. I get here at 11:15 when my appointment isn't until 12:00. I fill out the paperwork in about 4 minutes. I sit and wait till about 11:50, then I get called thinking I'm going back. Not A Chance!! They tell me that they are running about 60 minutes behind. So I ask, what is the point of an appointment and why did I have to be here early? All I'm told is "you can leave and get something to eat and come back" umm excuse me!! I had an appointment at 12:00 not at 1:00. Seems like the person who does the scheduling should find a new profession. Because they don't know how to schedule patients appointments. Every review on this place is about how long of a wait there is!! If anyone plans on coming here, make sure you phone is completely charged and bring a long book and a dictionary to read cause your going to be here for a long time!! I'm only giving it a 1 star because I had to in order to leave a review! My husband went in today for an MRI and was told his copay after insurance was $714. When I made the appointment I was told that the MRI was $300. When he addressed this at the front desk he was told that it was $300 for self pay (without insurance). This makes absolutely no sense to rip people off like this! Very bad business! Will never use them again. read more

I had to come to this location for an open MRI. The office in Maricopa scheduled it for me. I showed up and they told me my appointment had been canceled because my insurance denied the order. I was going to pay cash anyway. But no text, phone call, email telling me this. So I drove 45 minutes to have to turn around and leave. The person at the desk rescheduled me for 4:30 the same day. I show up and 4:15 and they tell me they don't even have the correct machine at this location to do what the doctor requested. The first person who scheduled my original appointment should have caught this. But AT LEAST the 2nd person, AT that location, should have caught this. I will never use these idiots again. read more

I am Nurse Practitioner that works in the area with busy family Practice that has many other clinics. We order hundreds of exams a month and I will stop sending my patients to this imaging company. I have seen and been treated very poorly and will not put any of patients thur the same experience . I scheduled a stat exam earlier one morning for late in the evening after I get done seeing all my patients. When I show up to the clinic at the correct time. They tell me I don't have an appointment and when I tell them the appointment was ordered stat still nothing was Done to help. read more

I have been to this location before multiple times. In the past it has been ok, not great, not terrible. Wait times always too long, sign in chaotic, scheduling via phone is a total nightmare-takes WAY too long! I get it, their employees are underpaid, overworked and it shows. Wish I had any other option than Simon Med but due to insurance I am stuck with them but I definitely won't use Spectrum or the one on Dobson Rd in Chandler. Spectrum too busy and tech unable to perform scheduled exam due to equipment failure (understand stuff happens but why leave me waiting in the waiting room-should have told me!) and Dobson Rd front desk is rude and if website says you offer exams at certain times then make it happen-don't want your excuses. read more

My entire experience with this company has been awful. I was referred to get an echocardiogram. I tried to schedule online, but couldn't for this type of test. There's several Simon Med offices, but barely any of them do this test, so I have to drive much further. I called and scheduled an appointment. A day later that office calls and tells me they don't do echocardiogram tests on Wednesday, so I rescheduled to this location. I got two confirmation texts the day of and I go in and they tell me nothing was scheduled. They had zero explanation. I had to reschedule yet again, but I may just cancel at this point. They called my husband 10 minutes before his appointment and hung up, not leaving a message. We waited 15 minutes after checking in to find out he had to be rescheduled. The tech had called in and the replacement could not do the same test. They sent us to another location and where we had to wait a hour and 45 minutes to be seen. He took meds before this test which were wearing off. Not happy with the front desk staff.We had to ask for a supervisor to call around to get us the new appointment. I didn't wait long for my procedure, went to the changing room and from there it took them 30 minutes to get me to the actual ultrasound. The actual ultrasound was fine I was comfortable. After I then waited 15 more minutes to actually talk to the radiologist, and she wasn't even at the practice, I spoke with her in a messy private office over the phone. This is the first time I have had a problem, but it's a big one so one star. Simon has always been good about checking with the insurance, then calling scheduling the appointment and letting me know how much I responsible for. Which is great, so I can postpone it if needed. This time I was told, I would just have a $25 co-pay. Annual Mammogram, ultrasound breast and throat. I thought great my deductible is meet. Then I get a bill for $758.65!!! Billing department blames the doctor, saying they coded the request wrong. The doctor checked the request, it was for an annual screening Mammo, covered by insurance. They called Simon for me, they told the doctor, since we need an ultrasound it has to be a Diagnostic Mammo. Simon also decided to do an ultrasound on both side of the breast, when only one side was ordered. No one asked if this was okay or disclosed the cost. I would have postponed, until after the HOLIDAY"S and when I have new flex spending for next year, as this years is gone. Even "IF" the extra was needed, WHY did no one ask if it was okay and tell me what the cost would be????? TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! read more

Made my appointment over the phone which took almost 30 minutes. I was put on hold several times, sometimes without warning. It was tedious. I showed up at my appointment 15 minutes early and waited in the check-in line for 10 minutes only to be told that the office manager had moved my appointment to another location. I asked why this would happen and why I wasn't given a call and I only received a shrug from the employee. All of the employees seemed completely unmotivated. I have been using Simon Med Imaging for all of my Imaging care for at least 15+ years. The last 4 years the service, facilities, equipment & staff have all become sub par. The Dobson Rd (Mesa) office has a ROACH and rodent problem that I was not aware of until I went into the filthy! dressing room and saw several dead on floor. Then when I used the bathroom next to exam room I saw 2 Bug/Mouse traps in the corners only to see a huge one scurrying across the floor. I informed the staff person and she said " yeah we can't even keep food out in staff lounge because of Roaches". The Spectrum location in Gilbert used to be the best, but my last 2 visits the floors and bathroom have been filthy and in need of repairs. I was waiting for my xrays for almost an hour after I was done with my ultrasound because no one gave my chart to the X-ray tech. Girl and guy at the front desk blatantly lied saying it's because there were patients before me. When the x-ray tech took me in, she apologized for the wait stating that she never got my chart and that I would have been seen for x-rays right after my ultrasound an hour ago. I understand that sometimes there is a wait for certain procedures and that's ok, but having such disrespect as lying to your patients is beyond my understanding. Not a great experience. I have been to this location many times and this was by far the worst. I had a set appointment, showed up ten minutes early to a fill out paper work. The male front desk person was obnoxious and lacking in social skills. Then I noticed they had at least four scorpion traps in the lobby! Totally not professional. I have got the run-around for 4 months trying to get a refund on a $500 deductible collected by SimonMed Imaging of Gilbert Spectrum, after being asked for a co-pay that was not owed in the first place. I told the person collecting that I have no copay, but they required I pay it nonetheless. I paid as I needed the imaging done. My insurance co. reaffirmed that SMI never should have collected this co-pay, and that SMI incorrectly submitted the claim several times, SMI has not refunded the $500 - they simply state that they send billing to a 3rd party biller. I've made multiple calls to both SMI and the 3rd party biller (Zotech) number, the latter of which is automated and it states "nothing is owed on this account, thank you". The end. The only reason I continue to use SMI is that SMI is in network. I estimate I've made 15 calls now, and spent close to 4 hours. If I didn't know better, I'd say this was a scam. Update on above review: My review above finally generated a response from SimonMed Imaging. However, the response directs me to their customer service representative. Had the responder, Linda, even looked into the situation, she would have seen that I had done that numerous times already with no results. She, SimonMed, obviously cares more about their online image than on treating customers right. Linda's indifference also prompted me to take much more assertive approach: I called the insurer, BCBS, and asked, pleaded, that they do a 3-way call between us and SimonMed, which they did, and after about 5-10 minute hold, SimonMed said they would process the refund within the hour. Apparently, they knew all along they were wrong yet felt they could get away with it. I acknowledge I would have lost without the assistance of BCBS. read more

I would only use SimonMed as a last resort. Their appointment scheduling is difficult and frustrating. I left 2 messages to receive a call back to schedule my MRI. I never received a call. Their website isn't user friendly at all. After putting in all my info, including my email address, when asked to confirm my appointment electronically, there website said that I wasn't in the system. Having said all this, if and when you actually get an appointment, the MRI tech was great. He was friendly, ran on time snd efficient. read more

I had an MRI done here, the techs in the room did their best to make me comfortable and for that I am thankful. The big problem with Simonmed imaging (SMI LLC) is billing. They do NOT mail bills, they call you by the phone number on your insurance records to collect payment via credit card over the phone. I have never received a bill in the mail from them. I have hearing problems which means I cannot answer the phone directly because it takes special stuff to hear the phone. So my calls always go to voice mail, then I get a transcription vie email and then I return the call. But if Simonmed billing doesn't contact a person they do not leave a message instead they keep calling and hanging up, calling and hanging up, just like all the robocall scammers in the world do. This means that eventually all my bills go to collections. When those forms arrive I mail a check to SImonMed instead. But the problem with them calling wanting credit card payment is all the worlds scammers do exactly the same thing so why would I believe ANYONE calling would be legit. This is why I will never go back to SimonMed, despite mailing them 2 letters to confirm my address and contact info they insist on calling and hanging up then after so many tries they send the bill to collections. I wonder if Dr. John Simon knows they are doing this? read more

Very nice location. My Dr's office was able to schedule a same day appointment for me for 3pm. Got there at 2:45 for paperwork and getting scanned by 3:10pm. Check in no problem and very professional. It's very clear reading many of the reviews below that some people don't understand: MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES DON'T COVER a lot of the imaging done here. THAT IS NOT SimonMed's fault and the patient should get pre approval from Insurance BEFORE they get there... that's just the reality of today's insurance. Their cash pay pricing is extremely competitive. Very impressed with the tech who was very friendly. As I left, front desk associate explained to me that my Dr. would get any info Stat (as requested), and before end of day. They delivered as promised. Would highly recommend.... and all good test results was best news. read more

Will never use Simon Med Gilbert after today! So many people in the standing room only waiting room. The staff behind the desk felt like they needed to talk loudly and ignore all of the patients checking in. I heard every story that I and the other patients didn't need to hear. They were laughing so loud it was so unprofessional. A tech called an elderly patient 3 times and had the look of total disgust on her face that the elderly person on the other side of the room was taking too long to respond. The waiting room was so dirty. My tech for the mammo was a total witch. I'm sorry I moved when your machine hit me in the head during an image, maybe position my body better next time. There are 2 girls in reception who are terrible, rude when they realize that your first language is not English! 3 times in this place, what a nightmare, I called to schedule a M.I.R I realized that the questions were not correct, third time, making appointment for a biopsy, the girl who was attending me to make an appointment she began to make excuses and non-relative questions, I changed places, there were already many things that I did not like, the results are not correct, they told me one thing, but the report said another, nor did they agree between them, I went to ask for a copy of my Exams, and not even that can be done correctly, they make you fill out a sheet with your data and the reports you are asking for and in the end they give you what they want and with another name! I had to go 3 times, in 35 minutes of waiting, 3 more people also came to ask for a copy of their exams to change places, what does that tell you? Honestly, I have never written a yelp review. This company is about the worst I have every dealt with across any industry. This is my third trip trying to get my imaging for potential cancer completed. First time they couldn't find my order, second time after two confirmations they sent me to the wrong location and then made me reschedule because I would be 10 minutes late getting to the correct location. Today after checking in and paying for my services $255 after insurance I sat for 1hr and 35 minutes. They then told me the order was not correct and that my doctor never sent it. I spent the next hour working out the issue with doctors. The front staff is always giggling and seem to be aloof or have no concern for getting stuff done quickly and efficiently. After I had confirmed that my doc had faxed over the correct orders, I waited just to see if they would call me up. I waited an additional 15 minutes and then went up. The staff members stopped laughing and said. It's been corrected I just need to write up this verbal order. Seriously, you waited 15 minutes until I asked to write up the order that was already 2.5 hours late. Unreal experience, definitely a corporation. Seriously felt like Canadian healthcare where I was just a number. Please go anywhere but here and preferably a different company. Horrible is the best way to describe this operation and company. So, long story short, my daughter has a knee injury and the orthopedic doctor ordered an MRI. Simon Med calls us yesterday and tells us the BSBC authorization hasn't come through. We tell them to hold our appointment and they do. So, today I get on the phone with BCBS and they inform me that it is approved. Tonight at 9:30pm my wife and daughter arrive for the appointment and are told "we don't have authorization so you cannot be seen". Simon Med has once again proven they are inept money centered and greedy. They failed to call BCBS back today and get the authorization and then tonight tell my wife "you can just pay the $1,000+ out of pocket" and offer no apologies. Instead attempting to push the next appointment out more than a week. Horrible service from a company that is apparently so satisfied with their dominance in the MRI and XRay field that they can treat customers like trash. Stay away from this place! read more

I just returned from a scheduled appointment, which I ended up canceling once I was taken back. This was my very first visit here. I waited about an hour, which I was ok with. No problem, I can wait. Once I got to the back, I changed and was ready for the screening mammo and ultrasound exam. Denise (I'm assuming she's a radiology tech), began to tell me that there was issues with my order and how the doctor was contradicting herself with what was ordered and how the ICD-10 codes were incorrect. Furthermore, she began to (what felt like a lecture) me on how the Doctor who ordered my exams needed more training and don't know what they are doing. I listened for a while and was very confused as to what this had to do with me. She was clearly frustrated. At this point, she offered to call my Doctors office to get clarification on what exactly they wanted done. She followed by saying "I don't know how long I'm going to wait on hold for." At that point, I thought it was best to simply remove myself from the drama and run. I left there completely disappointed and sad to think of how many other patients have been burdened with the lecturer relating to similar coding and provider training issues. Seriously, we as patients don't need to hear that. Healthcare workers have to maintain professional at all times, regardless and work together with providers and not against them and not create silos. I'm sure my provider would be disappointed if she knew that a facility she referred me to and trusted to provide her patients with a service spoke ill of providers and let alone in this manner. In a world where there's options, think again whether you want this facility to provide you with a service. I have kindly removed myself and this facility will not be included as part of my option. Two problems, my wife took our 10 year old in for an x-ray, 1st of all they will not make appointments for x-rays. She was there nearly 2 and went to ask when they would be seen, the receptionist told her "oh your need to pay 1st, once she paid she was taken back. Whey wasn't this discussed at check in? I had a 5:00 appointment and arrived at 4:45 as directed, when checking in was told that they are running at least 30 minutes behind on MRIs. When I asked whey they bother making appointments they said they cannot account for things that happen each day. If you know things happen each day you should account for that when scheduling, If I arrived 30 minutes late for my appointment I would be charged and probably wouldn't be seen. What the heck is going on here? They outsourced their scheduling to India or something and it took me a half hour to speak to this person and schedule my appointment. I could not schedule this type of appointment online either because if I could, I surely would have. Also, the person scheduling me asked me for my height and weight, and if I had a Covid vaccine, then they also quoted me what I would have to pay at the office, which was not accurate according to my insurance. Why was a scheduling person asking me questions that only a doctor should be asking me? I told them I would not answer these questions and to just schedule the appointment. Needless to say, the whole thing made me feel very uncomfortable and I really don't ever want to go back to this office. In fact, I may cancel my appointment altogether and ask my prescribing doctor to send me somewhere else. The last time I went to this office, they also charged me $230 upfront without even running the cost through my insurance first, so I called my insurance yesterday (well before my appointment takes place), to make sure what I would have to pay. The day before my appointment they left a message saying that it was not going to happen because they didn't have "contrast". When I called back it, they advised it would be another 3 weeks. Was suppose to have an ultra sound so my bladder was full of water. I asked a couple of times and all they could tell me was they were backed up...they finally called me back..but it was for my mammogram that was scheduled....told the technician I was suppose to get an ultrasound too and that my bladder was super full and I'd been waiting over two hrs. I was called by a scheduler from SimonMed after my doctor got approval from my insurance, and was told the soonest appointment was 6 pm on Friday. I took it and arrived at 5:55, filled out 3 sheets of paper, paid $400 for an image of my ankle, and sat down to wait. And wait. And wait. A gentleman got up and asked how much longer he'd be waiting and got a vague answer. One lady turned to another and said they'd been waiting 90 minutes. I wait 45 minutes and ask, and am told without apology that my Appt was for 6:30 (with an attitude, like, why are you asking? I explain that I was told a 6:00 appointment and she snarks back, "we tell you that for paperwork- but your appointment isn't until 6:30") and I should relay be ashamed for asking I guess because it was "only" 6:45. I guess I got lucky as this place goes, only waiting an hour to be taken back. Well, to be accurate, 57 minutes. I was brought back by a surly young man who, with my papers in his hand, began to ask me exact duplicates of the questions on the sheet: what area of the body are we imaging? (My ankle) He looked at the large plastic boot on my left leg that comes up to my knee and asks does it come off? (Yes) and then asks if it's metal? (No... and it's coming off anyhow) and then at my ruler-straight Native American hair with absolutely nothing in it, and nowhere to hide anything, and asks me if I'm wearing extraneous metal hair ties? And I just look at him very level. For a while. And I tell him, very quietly, "No. I don't have any extraneous metal hair ties." At this point after every answer I give him he says, in a way over the top manner, "just ASKING"! This comedy show goes on for a while. I get situated in the machine and as he walks out he tells me it takes ten minutes. I think, ten minutes is about all I can do in this position and still walk out of here tonight because of pain, and I am prepared. I watch the timer on the machine and the first go says a little over 4 minutes. Then it beeps and clicks and honks and then 3+ minutes, then 4+ minutes, then 3+ minutes, then 2+, 4+, 3+ and so on - and this goes on for 32 minutes. At no time does he come in and say anything. Like- did we have to start over? Three times? Did something go wrong? All I know is that my back muscles have gone past cramped and have fully seized and I cannot move to get off the table. I sort of turtle there for a while trying to get onto my side to pull up my knees and let my back un-seize and I'm crying. He stands right there and watches me unable to stand and struggling to recover and smirks. At no time did he offer assistance. Meanwhile, the dulcet strains of Kanye West are rapping along on the background... not appreciated. After I got into a sitting position, and I've still got tears on my face, I say very quietly, "You should not tell people it's ten minutes when it is more like thirty; people need to prepare for that." And in the most disrespectful -and that's the only description I'm going to give it because I'm a lady- he says "that WAS ten minutes, MISS." Well, no it wasn't. I know, because I can Math. They used to teach that in school, along with many other useful things that clearly he is lacking the benefit of. I hobbled to get my boot, and the key to my locker fell off the boot and hit the ground and with a snicker he says, "Don't forget the key." Good job, SimonMed. I manage a practice in the healthcare field, so I can pay you this compliment: At least your brand is consistent from the start of the appointment to the finish. read more

Th staff there can not tell you how much the service will be.
