Never, ever, ever do business with SimonMed. 1. They make imaging appointments BEFORE receiving approval from health insurance for the imaging. If the approval isn't received before the appointment, they will cancel the appointment and then text you until you call in to reschedule. 2. When you call back to reschedule, you have to explain everything all over again and you usually get different prep insructions for the same image request. 3. When you try to use their website, you can't use your cell phone number for a second account. I was my husband's caregiver and now I am my mother's and they won't let her have an account because I have the same cell phone number. Why ANY company would make a phone number a key database field is beyond me. 4. The online chat leads you only to FAQ pages...not to a person who can actually help you. read more

Scheduled an appointment a month ago. Told day before appointment that it needs to be rescheduled because the drs tax id number is needed??? Why am I being told this the DAY before the appointment?! Absolutely ridiculous. Because of this I'll need to now schedule an appointment with the pcp to get another referral if his scan is not done by Wednesday. Rescheduled again. Called the next day and confirmed appointment time. Walked in and said appointment was triple booked and attempted to call my dad's phone the day of appointment even though I called two hours before to confirm appointment time. I was scheduled a mammogram over a year ago. Arrived to my appointment, only to be told I was scheduled incorrectly? I get constant reminders and info requests, but no one bothered to make the effort to verify anything!?! I've not only cleared my calendar for this appointment, but I'm stressed out every time I go to this type of appointment. I didn't even receive an apology or even an accommodation; I was told I need to reschedule. I've tried to be patient with them. I'm constantly on the phone with them. Why? I have to chase down an insurance refund from my insurance? They've even canceled a refund check. I tried going to a different location for better customer service, but discovered across the board they just suck!!!!! Awful experience my college daughter showed up for her appointment and was told her location had just been moved because of a double booking and sent to another town over where she was stuck waiting for a ride to try to get there an hour and a half from her original scheduled appointment time along with not being able to have any food or drink when called to clarify nobody either answers the phone or they're scheduling department just gives you the cold shoulder and it is what it is if I could choose another imaging center I definitely would. read more

There is dirty furniture through out the waiting area I compared pictures the same dirty spots from the last time I was in here and I'll say the staff okay in front this time. Maybe they need a new operations or facilities manager? Or maybe just a manager. Then I had my procedure today with a woman whose name was Jenny and she absolutely made my day. She was skilled, professional, polite, friendly, kiind and definitely shines. She's the kind of employee a company needs. Jenny gets five stars for doing an amazing job. Rude employees. They don't seem to "care" about patients here. Held me hostage to pay $40 co pay when my EOB stated I owe zero. She wouldn't check me in until I paid which was over an hour. She needed me to download my EOB rt then and there. My appt was at 9am and she checked me in at 10am. I heard and seen many bad reviews on Simon Med. I should've went elsewhere. Where's the zero star option? The ppl who attended me there were very kind and polite and attentive. After I got the mri . It's been over a week and they have still not gotten the report to my Doctor. I call and they dnt answer. On Friday they told my doctor 24hrs and it's been 96hrs! I'd stay away! Went there for an X-ray of the hand and waited over an hour. I kept hearing how the X-ray tech was not letting the front desk personnel that she was behind or anything that was going on. After an hour and 20 minutes the front desk clerk said she made me an appointment at the Val vista location because the X-ray tech was running so far behind and that I should be seen immediately when I got there. The front desk people were kind, the facility is nice, but there should be better communication between the rad techs and the front office staff. read more

This entire organization is exceptionally disorganized and very inefficient. It's Absolutely abhorrent to think that they make people in pain run around hours out of their way to only tell them sorry they can't see them. I have been trying to bring in someone in a lot of pain and they tell you over the phone , 'Just walk in for this or that.. we get there and they say, sorry,no ... then they make an appointment to go to one location, you get there to only have them tell you, 'Oh, you have to go to another location 40 mins away, but Don't Worry, we will call to let them know you're on the way!' , you get there and they tell you, Oh, sorry, we have no room today!' An hour and a half of wasting gas and time!! A horrible place..... with schedulers in Timbuktu sone foreign lands light years away. This location of SimonMed Imaging - Rome Towers - quality of service is like a yo-yo... . Arrived here, two weeks ago for imaging. again, because its close and it is either Simon Med or Banner. Choosing between the two is like out next presidential election. you don't want neither but what do you have left, nothing!. So, at first things were going well. Imaging went well unlike prior to this place and another Simon Med I reviewed. I left really happy thinking I would give the visit a good review. Then 2 weeks later, I returned to get a copy of two reports from prior visits. One was from a previous location which they had and gave me. The other, they said they didn't have in the system and i probably got it from Banner. So, they gave me the closest Banner location on a sticky note for me to go to. But I went home first. Rifling through my papers, I found a wrinkled up copy of that report, naturally from Simon Med from that location. So, I went back and asked for it again, this time from someone else. Within 30 seconds I was given a copy. Then the girl from the other day comes out and I told her that it was here and in the system. She then comes up with some lame excuse of a lie by saying, "oh, that is because my search set of something in the system for a doctor to generate a report. I looked at her like you would when you were just lied to. I know that because it was the same report I received the week of the imaging back in late 2023. I so wanted to walk over and put that Banner sticky note on her forehead and say, "well I guess that is why you gave me the address to another imaging company!" The two names I dealt with was Denise and the other Sydney. While the Tech was awesome, the other at the front desk failed when I returned for the report. I can not stand people lying to me. I am starting to conciser doing all my imaging someplace else. And Simon Med phone services are the worse. You will have beet luck reaching the IRS than the department you want at Simon Med because they either drop you or don't answer. read more

Just wasted my morning going to Simonmed Rome Tower. I take my meds to slow down my heart rate, then go there for a CT scan of my heart, only to find out in less than 20 seconds of scanning my insurance cards that I had to pay up front $1000.00. I have Medicare and a PPO supplemental, If my insurance doesn't cover it, no insurance covers it. This is the third time they pulled this on me, an once to my granddaughter. All previous times my insurance did in fact cover the procedure's, they have to upset people first to check insurance coverage. They just don't do their job, they had a week and a half to check insurance coverage, they apparently love blind-siding customers. The women was shocked when I walked out. I called my provider to find me a real image company to go to. read more

Complete Trash. Had an appointment for 3:30, get there at 3:30 and was told it was for 3:10 and that i was the last patient so the tech went home for the day. They have done this twice before with no notification. their website is a joke and does not show appointment information. Find a different imaging provider these guys a garbage. read more

HORRIBLE! Had to cancel heart surgery due to them cancelling a CT scan appt 2 days before the appt. After calling the scheduling dept 7 times, I went into the office and made another appt. 2 hrs later I received a called that the appt had to be rescheduled because there was no one there that day to do the scan. read more

This Office miss scheduled me three different times I even had documents of their scheduled appointment. They still turned me down, not only that but they gave my insurance company the wrong orders from the wrong doctor so my insurance company would not authorize my imaging. So, after making an appointment with the Gilbert office (Rome Towers) I was told that my insurance had approved the procedure (which took a couple of days) I was even told exactly how much I would pay and that I needed to pay in full at the time of service. It must have been an omen because when I was getting ready to leave tonight, I pulled up their address on maps only to see a glaring 2-star Yelps rating on my phone. That has never happened to me before with any other address. I drove 45 minutes, one way, only to be told that they do not have an order for my procedure. Yet, I have an appointment and received a text message days before instructing me to complete all of their paperwork online, which I did. Then these two at the desk said they called my doctor's office and were told that I am not even a patient there. The problem was they admitted that they were actually calling some place in California that I have never heard of. Really! My doctor is in Queen Creek. Then to make matters worse a man that I can only assume would have been my tech said that they had also tried calling me several times today, but it just kept going to voice mail. I asked him about sending a text and he replied that they don't do text messages. So, I looked at my phone right there in front of them both and asked why they did not bother to leave me at least one message if they had called me so many times. I did not have a single voice message from anyone. There was no answer for that, and this was when the tech retreated to a back room, never to be seen again. So, it was just me and the receptionist, who also could not tell me why they did not bother to leave any messages. Then, he wanted me to call my girlfriend at home and have her look thru all my stuff to try and find my doctor's order and take a picture of it for them. I said, do you really think your company made an appointment for me without having an order? Again, there was no response. In desperation I did call home and asked my sweetheart to waste some of her time too. It was over a week ago that I had finalized all of these details with the scheduling office, they had a copy of my order at that time, and they had also been in contact with my doctor's office. The real one in Queen Creek, not some imaginary place in California... All the receptionist could say was "Lately we have had some problems with scheduling" That was probably the best information I had received from that place since walking thru their front door... All I could think of to keep from blowing my top after waiting a week to get in there and wasting over two hours with their BS and all of my drive time, was that everything happens for a reason. Most likely my guardian angel was protecting me from that moron who would have done my procedure. After reading the review on here about someone starting an IV without gloves, I truly thank God for His divine intervention. I told the receptionist that I will never be back there, and I would advise anyone else who is searching for an imagining facility to keep looking too. Go anyplace other than SMI. Where I work (yes, I am in the healthcare field and have been an RN for nearly 15 years now) SMI is the abbreviation for Severe Mental Illness. Let that one sink in while you continue looking for another imaging center. BTW, I only gave them a one-star rating because I could not give them a zero. read more

Their customer service, pre-authorization, and front desk at their locations are wayyyy out of sync. The process to even get scheduled is a nightmare, and they canceled my appointment 3x due to the pre-authorization and incorrect coding, without even a phone call. For the call center, I was speaking with representatives for extended periods of time to try to get the issues ironed out prior to my appointment and FOUR times I was hung up on. Then, I finally get to the location. AFTER I check in (15 mins early, as instructed), I get a text that they rescheduled my appointment to 40 mins later. I went to check how much longer of a wait after it had been 30 mins past my appointment time and the front desk staff was extremely rude. It should also by noted that as I've been waiting, almost every person that has checked in has had an issue with their appointment. Please use another place if you can. read more

I have been using SimonMed for many procedures and thought it might be easier to get my X-ray done in a smaller facility that wasn't quite as busy. The first X-ray tech that is doing internship was very gentle and patient as my hip extremely sore and stiff and when he couldn't get picture the X-ray tech came and just jammed my leg and I let out a scream in pain and almost in tears he said see we got it done, I will never go back to that facility if they paid me for another X-ray. The lack of empathy for someone in pain and his lack of professionalism was lacking and he shouldn't be working there. read more

This place is an absolute nightmare!! No matter how many SimonMed employees tell you you prior to your exam that you don't have to pay anything on the day of your procedure, the receptionists force you to pay the full amount upon arrival with a 3% credit card surcharge! And the amount due is often much higher than the quoted price! The MRI tech was not experienced and had trouble with the IV. He was also not wearing gloves as required by law. The small, flimsy headphones did nothing to curb the dreadfully loud noise from the machine and I was left with hearing loss and ringing in the ears! And the tech did not warn me that the 3T machine causes muscle cramps and spasms, so I was freaked out when I got them all over my stomach! Oh, and good luck trying to reach someone in management. They don't care and will not take your calls. Do yourself a favor and find another imaging company. SimonMed is the worst!! read more

Cannot get through to schedule an appointment. Online scheduling will only allow an appointment in Maricopa. Too far to drive, especially since there's locations all over Gilbert and Chandler. On the phone, you just get an automated robot. Finally got through to a human. They said, oh you'll have to make an appointment (for an ultrasound) with the PA, and she's not available right now. Negative/Zero Stars aren't an option! This place is a bloody nightmare! Total scam artists and I'm guessing some stealing too! A possible broken wrist sends us for a CT Scan to the Val Vista location. There was confusion on the insurance. We have primary and secondary, but a special policy through the college my son plays for that pays everything because the injury was at a team event. They correct the issue after calling and confirming no pre-auth is needed. We go to the appt and they have a machine offline so we have to go to another location. No worries they reschedule to the Rome Towers location and the disaster ensues! My 19 yr old goes and checks in and comes back to the car. Appt. canceled because no pre-auth on file. Husband goes in and explains. Cosette is the Site manager and won't come out of her office. It goes on and on, hubby and son call me at work and we go back and forth. Heavy set gentleman in scrubs and with a beard tells my kid if he doesn't like it - he can pay cash or get better paying insurance! We have no choice and get bullied into paying $175 cash price - and they charge my card. They have the same conversation with the woman behind my son and she pays cash! While they do CT Scan - they proceed to say we didn't pay enough and the bill is higher. They DO NOT follow the No Surprises Act - as we NEVER got a signed TX plan with disclosed fees! They couldn't find one and it isn't on their website ANYWHERE! Then, it's a problem to get images on a disc - 20 minutes later we get that. In the meantime, we call insurance and confirm no pre-auth needed and get a reference number for the claim form. We request they process a refund and bill the insurance and they refuse. Cosette won't come out of her office. And they are informed we will file complaints with the Attorney General, OCR, CURES ACT, and Insurance Commissioner. We continue to call them to verify the issue and no one ever answers. When we call billing - we are told there is no record of him ever having an exam or being seen and therefore no payment is seen and no refund can be given. We file a police report for theft on our card and charge back the fee. We send all the documentation to the bank along with screen shots of them telling us there is no exam on file for the day. Bank reverses charge. We have left countless messages for Andrea and Dan in compliance, Cosette at the location. (My call logs are below). Today, Audrey calls and says she called us. We have NO record of an incoming call. She chooses to say we (parents) aren't on the HIPAA forms - even though I filled them out online personally! They had no problem talking to me at all UNTIL today - now they don't want to because they KNOW my 19 yr old doesn't understand the system! This is a PREDATORY PRACTICE and DISCRIMINATORY against young and elderly persons, economically disadvantaged and those with low paying insurance plans. How many patients are skipping medication and meals because in a state of duress they feel bullied and pressured into paying cash for desperately needed imaging? How many are not getting what they need because they can't afford the cash co-pay they are being told (since no fee list is available online or in person)? Maybe corporate doesn't know to what extent embezzlement is happening? It's not hard to take cash payments or swipe credit cards and post payments to other accounts and pocket the cash? It's unacceptable behavior and treatment and Simon Med needs to be held accountable. Simon Med has $68M in revenue for 2022. Only 17% of their management team is Hispanic/African American (explains the mistreatment of lower economic demographic patients)! And they certainly don't follow thru with their mission statement..."to provide best-in-class affordable care through the use of advanced technology." Employees don't like working there either - giving 61% of approval to the CEO and only 52% who would recommend it to a friend. Staff the rudest anywhere and they are very low IQ people. It took them over 20 minutes to issue my cash refund. Would never trust their doctors. The nuclear med tech was obviously having a bad day. That said, I got to be her verbal punching bag during my procedure. As I was leaving She asked if I was fully vaccinated, Which I am. I felt it didn't have anything to do with my procedure and I told her that that information was personal. That set her off and she literally started yelling in my face.I finally had enough and verbally backed her down. As I was leaving she continued yelling at me to the point where other employees were coming out into the hallway to see what was going on. I tried getting hold of a manager but nobody was available. One finally called me back a couple of days later. The manager apologized and said that they would look into it and I've heard nothing since (about 2 weeks now) Pretty disappointing. Was sent to this location to do a thyroid biopsy. I had a full on panic attack in the lobby waiting and once I was called into the room. Fred the P.A, and the ultrasound tech, an older man I wish I remember his name, were amazing and put me at ease before the procedure. The incompetency of medical professionals is astounding. I called 2 weeks ago to book an ultrasound. After waiting 30 minutes and getting pushed around, I finally was able to book an appointment at this location. I received a call Friday afternoon at 4:30 pm telling me that this facility does not offer my appointment. I had to call and reschedule. They scheduled me for Monday morning, 30 minutes away. As I got to that facility to check in, the receptionist said they don't do that type of ultrasound there. UNBELIEVABLE. They scheduled me for a 3rd appointment, an hour away. I won't be going. So then I ask what if I cash pay and leave my insurance out of it and they tell me it is $800 for cash pay! Simon med is absolutely the worst imaging clinic in my experience. And I'm not saying this just from my experience from yesterday but also in the past about 2 years ago. Okay let's go back to yesterday. I walk in for my appointment and they tell me my appointment is canceled because they need doctor to send an order in with specific wording. She said she tried calling the doc but they would not give her the correct order. Well woman, couldn't you call me and let me know that day before I come in and drive all the way there? Their customer service reps are over seas which is fine but half of the time they don't understand you properly and then when you asked to be transferred somewhere they hang up on you (3 diff times). Oh and then survey at the end , they don't provide it because they know they will get bad ratings. I would stay away from Simon Med and go to another diagnostic place. If I could do -5 stars I would. Arrived for my 2:45 appointment today for my MRI. 2nd attempt because the open MRI at another location threw me into full panic. I am VERY claustrophobic and even with meds I don't do well. So off to this one that it a bigger machine and dr RX Valium. Good to go. The lady that brought me back and was shadowing the male MRI tech was awesome. Then came time to be out in the machine and I was starting to get anxious as I had asked how long it would take and he said we would be lucky if it was 10 minutes but that would only be if they got it on the first try and that rarely happens, so he said let's start rolling you in to see how it goes. Didn't make I but to my head , so the lady tech pulled me out and the male tech suggested we do another way. He hooked something up to the end of them board where my feet were before and said let's try this. I said. Isn't that going to be worse because my whole body would be in the machine. He was visible and now verbally frustrated and said well that's the only other way we can do it and we have patient s out there waiting for their exams so we can't keep doing this. Again this is 3 minutes in of my exam time. Which was blocked out for me. I asked about sedation and he then decided to "school me". I was holding back the tears. I was already scared and anxious and now he was humiliating me and I was trying not to cry in front of them. The female must have noticed because she suggested we try sedation and I agreed and he again schooled me on how. That needs to be done. They can't just do it without doctors orders and on and on and not in a friendly helpful voice. I lost it by the time I hit the dressing room and cried and didn't stop for awhile after I left felt so humiliated. I'm sorry he lost a bet on the padres and should have bet on thedodgers but that's no reason to humiliate and treat a patient poorly. read more

Update: I just received another scan today for my back injury. I just want to say how thankful I am for Jenny and the nice young man at the front desk today for taking care of me during this corona virus lock down. I am so so grateful for the staff working and risking their own health to help me and many others. Because of you, I can get the scans and medical treatment I need for my injury. Thank you!!! Let me start by saying I have so many scans, I have an ongoing injury and ALWAYS use SimonMed. I've had excellent scans with the Copper-point location but for this particular scan that location could not perform it. I was so impressed with the Rome Towers location today with my MRI. The gentleman who performed my scan, TJ, was so patient, wonderful, professional and kind! I'm on a walker and have a VERY hard time getting off the table after any scans. It took me about 10 minutes and several painful tries before I finally got off the table. Thank you to TJ for being so kind and patient with me. Having a patient with a breakthrough pain episode isn't easy I'm sure. Also I was a little late to my appt and they were so great with getting me in, they didn't even bat an eye. I'm sitting in the office. I was told to show up 30 minutes for my appointment. I did so. My appointment was supposed to be at 10:10. it's now 11:20. So, yes, I've been here for almost two hours. Waiting. I took specific medication for this appointment that is now wearing off. At least the woman sitting next to me knew enough to bring a novel to read. They lost her scans from her last appointment, so she's here again doing a repeat. if you book here, expect to spend a few hours of your day waiting. And bring extra medication. read more
