Arrived for my 2:45 appointment today for my MRI. 2nd attempt because the open MRI at another location threw me into full panic. I am VERY claustrophobic and even with meds I don't do well. So off to this one that it a bigger machine and dr RX Valium. Good to go. The lady that brought me back and was shadowing the male MRI tech was awesome. Then came time to be out in the machine and I was starting to get anxious as I had asked how long it would take and he said we would be lucky if it was 10 minutes but that would only be if they got it on the first try and that rarely happens, so he said let's start rolling you in to see how it goes. Didn't make I but to my head , so the lady tech pulled me out and the male tech suggested we do another way. He hooked something up to the end of them board where my feet were before and said let's try this. I said. Isn't that going to be worse because my whole body would be in the machine. He was visible and now verbally frustrated and said well that's the only other way we can do it and we have patient s out there waiting for their exams so we can't keep doing this. Again this is 3 minutes in of my exam time. Which was blocked out for me. I asked about sedation and he then decided to "school me". I was holding back the tears. I was already scared and anxious and now he was humiliating me and I was trying not to cry in front of them. The female must have noticed because she suggested we try sedation and I agreed and he again schooled me on how. That needs to be done. They can't just do it without doctors orders and on and on and not in a friendly helpful voice. I lost it by the time I hit the dressing room and cried and didn't stop for awhile after I left felt so humiliated. I'm sorry he lost a bet on the padres and should have bet on thedodgers but that's no reason to humiliate and treat a patient poorly. read more

Incompetence on fire and a bitchy receptionist to top it all off. HOURS upon HOURS of my life wasted between scheduling, driving to & from, calling my insurance company MULTIPLE times, two failed attempts at having a simple MRI performed and an out loud verbal argument with an unfriendly, unhelpful, bitchy receptionist. Scheduling and having an MRI completed should NOT be this difficult, nor should you be treated like you are an annoyance or an inconvenience. The receptionist in this place was HORRIBLE read more

Unbelievable AWFUL experience for past couple of weeks with Simon Med! I have been rescheduled twice (in the last two weeks) at the last minute with them saying them can't do the MRI for various reasons even though they have had the order from day one as to what neeed to be done, received voicemail this morning asking what I am needing scanned an hour before having to leave for the exam, been hung up on 3x's, husband's taken off work......I have now been cancelled AGAIN. I am not one that usually writes reviews, but after yesterdays experience, I felt compelled to write one. I was scheduled for 3 MRIs and they are my worst fear. Espescially the closed ones. I was dreading this day. I was led to the room and I blurted out to (I believe his name was Tim) that I was nervous about the procedure. He stood there and proceded to explain everything that was going to be done and explained everything in great detail regarding what the doctors orders were and what to expect... He was so calming with his voice. My uneasiness vanished and my heart was beating regular, not speeding like it had been. (i have claustrophobia) The 3 procedures took about an hour, but it didn't seem like it took that long. Not for one second did my claustrophobia kick in. KUDOS to him and his calming demeanor, explanations, patience and kindness. read more

Scheduled appt. Asked if it was open because it was a holiday. Was assured it would be open. Received texts asking me to check in, etc. Went to appt. No one was in the office. No one called to reschedule my appt. Then, left online waiting for help! Furious and will never go back there again! read more

The CT technician, Jenny, was very rude & disrespectful. Performed the scan without giving me a blanket, even though I requested one (From the manager, Rafael) because the gown didn't cover my breast all the way. I felt like I didn't have much privacy or respect. She felt the need to argue with me because I expressed to her that Rafael was rude when I asked if my husband could stay with me in the waiting room. I was concerned about being alone since I was having horrible reactions to the medications that we're taken for the test. Which was for my heart. If something serious would have happened no one would have known since the patients can't be seen from the check in desk. And the waiting room was completely empty. A little compassion, concern & understanding would have gone a long way. Very disappointed in Simon Med. I'll be filing a formal complaint. read more

I just had one of the most terrible customer service and patient care experiences of my life. I've never encountered someone less empathetic, less helpful, less interested, less caring and potentially less capable, but I can't say that for sure because she didn't actually attempt to really do anything for me to know. Maybe she was having a bad day but I have a feeling that it was a very standard level of service for her. I want to be clear, I'm not speaking to the quality of their images or studies, those may be fine. I'm not even upset that what was supposed to happen didn't, that's life and things happen. I'm simply stating that the experience I had with the person at Rome Towers was terrible.The details are less important than the manner or way it wasn't handled. I don't want to call out anyone specifically here as I'm not trying to be vindictive just informative about my general experience (I would be happy to talk to anyone from SimonMed with specifics) I hope we can expect more from the businesses and yes, medical facilities we support. Service is not a requirement to produce quality images but it is a requirement for a quality company and SimonMed woefully missed the mark for me today. read more

I am quite anxious during MRI's and require medication to chill out. This was my first experience with an MRI at Simon Med and the phenomenal tech, TJ, got me through it. This was my second attempt at this actual MRI and was referred here for the wide bore MRI machine which made a world of difference. I was very impressed with the service I got at this company. The CT tech was great, friendly,and very kind would go back again.

While SimonMed Imaging was great and nice. Billing department was horrible. I signed up for recurring payment, however paid off my MRI within before 2nd recurring payment withdrawal. I called 5 times to get refunded money that was withdrawn and waited 8 weeks. Still no refund available and I am told by customer service that I still need to wait another 7 business day for the refund department to get back to me.. I didn't know it would take so long for me to get money I overpaid back to me. They are so quick to take the money, but so slow to refund money back due to me. Not a good way to handle business and patients time. I will never go back to Simon Med if I can help it. read more

Today the CT machine broke. They brought in a tech and fixed it. Finally my husband got in. But, had someone who could not get a IV started. Stuck him 6x's and said; that she has done this 35 years and this doesn't happen. Told him to drink more water and come back another day. He had been drinking water since this morning. Drank more than 50oz. Not a good experience:( read more

There's no better SimonMed and I've been to dozens. The professional efficient staff is incredibly polite, helpful, knowledgeable and very personable. They actually remembered me from months prior. They care. The waiting area is spacious with with wall dividers, lamps, comfy PADDED chairs with armrests and CARPETED - no echoing sound or blaring tv. You feel as if you're in a hotel lobby. Your walk-in WAIT TIME is MINIMAL. If only other SimonMed locales were half this nice. Highly recommend. read more

If you have insurance do not use it for X-rays. They only charge $25 for no insurance. The front desk tried to charge me $86 upfront. It did not sound correct so I called my insurance. My insurance said I was being overcharged. When I asked the receptionist why she did not tell me this, she rudely snapped at me "It's not me job to tell you how much things cost!" I told her that was not a decent way to treat people and I will take my business elsewhere. I left and was treated at an imaging center who took my insurance and charged me $0. read more

I have had 3 CT Scans at this location. First one was as good as it could get. Office personnel were courteous and helpful - the young man giving me the CT Scan was excellent. The second time I had a woman that 1. said I could not have a scan without a prep because I was allergic to something as I had a rash the last CT scan. Made me make another appointment. She was very short & rude about the whole thing. Said my doctor should have known. The office staff was amazing however and got me in the next week. When I came back for the actual CT scan this same lady was rude, short and dismissive. Office Staff was great. The third time I came in I took the prep before for the supposed Allergies - the same lady who told me I had to take the prep asked why I took the prep - she did not see any reason I needed a prep. She was again dismissive and rude. I even - both times - complimented her to get her to relax and ease up but to no avail. I have a Arthritic/degenerative Spine and constant back pain. When we were done I asked if she could please give me a hand getting off the tiny little tables they have. She said no - she has had 5 back surgeries -did not offer to get some help even as I yelped in pain trying to turn to lift myself off the table. There were two other men in the office at the time. But she would rather just watch me suffer. When I left she pulled out the intravenous needle in my arm and put a bandage on it. By the time I went to get dressed I was bleeding profusely from the injection site. I had to put pressure on it to stop it. She had disappeared so I had to go out to the lobby to get the gentleman who checked me in to help me find her. She did after several minutes come in and looked at it and said oh you take blood thinners? I would say this woman is rude and abusive. To add insult to injury I paid for the procedure on the day I was there and then they turn around and bill me for the visit also. I wonder how many people who are really sick just go ahead and pay the bill also. read more

My husband had a CT scan for a basketball abdominal hernia today. He was layed flat for the scan.Because he no longer has oblique muscles together in his abdomen he requires help to sit up. He was told by the technician she wasn't helping him sit up because she had 4 back surgeries. She could have called the man in the front to help him. It was so difficult for him to get up when he came out he was out of breath and looked like he was going to pass out. The people that work at this company have even made me hop from the door of the MRI room to the machine w/o assistance because I couldn't bring the crutches in. What is wrong with these people? If you can't assist sick people why are you working in this field? Go scan food at a grocery store. We will never go back to any Simonmed facilities again. read more

This is a lovely imaging center. When I first walked in, I was greeted with a smile and was checked right in. They were expecting me because of my same day urgent appointment request from my doctor. After getting checked in, they had all my insurance pulled, I paid my balance and got called right to the back. Every staff member I had an encounter with was amiable and informative. The office is clean, with a nice spacious setup, many private rooms/changing areas, and comfortable waiting rooms. I had to have 2 MRI's done here, it unfortunately, took about 3 1/2 hours from start to finish, but that was out of SimonMed's control. The MRI machine went down and had to be rebooted which caused them to be backed up with patients. During my wait, the staff kept me company and updated me every time something new came along that I needed for my particular case. The doctor who had to perform the injections in my body was cautious, knowledgeable and explained what he was doing before he did it which made me feel at ease with all the procedures. After all the poking and prodding and waiting, I finally made it into the MRI machine, and that tech was just as pleasant! He went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable, went through my medical history and took all the precautions needed to keep me safe. I want to thank everyone at SimonMed for assisting me with this long, painful process and making it as comfortable and possible. When I need further testing, I will be requesting this facility. read more
