The front office staff and technicians are phenomenal. I don't suggest messing with calling in. I had several issues with the number, including whether it went to a central location. The MRIs, the x-rays, and the technicians who handle both are professional and courteous. They explain what's going on and how the testing will proceed. Unfortunately, the doctor who read my MRI scan, I believe, is the dumbest in Arizona. Not sure how this radiologist observed an organ in my body and documented that there were no issues with it when the organ was removed 33 years ago, so either there was a miracle, thank you God, or this doctor is not very good at what he does. The doctor also recommended no further assessment or treatment for a cyst that was observed, which could very well be true. However, if it has not been biopsied or looked at, how can this doctor make that recommendation without knowing my prior scans? I am sure there are other radiologists, but I would not touch this particular one with a 10-foot pole. because of this, I removed two stars. read more

I was concerned seeing some negative reviews but my experience was very nice and went smoothly from beginning to end. Check in was easy because they sent all the forms online and in advance. Very short wait of less than 10 minutes when I arrived. The MRI tech who did my work was cheerful, considerate and explained every step of the process before and during the event and how long it would be until my Dr has results. Phoenix is a city with some of the best healthcare in the country. Simon Med is a disgrace to the profession. They are impossible to communicate with and often loose records and require repeat procedures. When calling we are greeted by someone who is difficult to understand and who has difficulty understanding my issue. You are unable to speak with anyone at the location or in the United States. Today to get a simple answer I had to call seven times and disconnected repeatedly. In order to resolve the issue I had to drive 27 miles to the location and work it out face to face. They claimed to have misfiled my records and miraculously found them. NEVER again will I use Simon Med. My imaging company of choice is Banner Imaging in Phoenix, AZ. If I could rate lower than 1, would have gone into the negative numbers. Stay away from Simon Med.....it is all about making money and the patient be damned. As a positive, the staff was excellent. My doctor sent a referral for my mammo here. Turns out I need a biopsy. This place then sends a referral request to a doctor I have not seen in 2 years. I had a good experience getting my MRI here. It was a little awkward to know which person to checkin with when walking in. Once checked in, I waited about 1/2 hour even with an appointment. So after checkin you just sit and wait for them to call you back. Side note: For MRI wear a sports bra / avoid underwire bras or you'll have to change. I asked the scheduling person if I had to wear anything special and she didn't mention that. Imaging team were great. They explained everything a bit fast/set the machine and myself up quick so I was a little turned around. They answered my questions and made sure I knew how to use the "panic" button in case I got claustrophobic. Front desk staff were good too, they certainly had a lot of people to checkin but kept it moving. read more

Stopped in for a ultrasound on my neck (kinda a carry) and the 4 people plus one woman whom I did not interact with were all as pleasant as can be. Its been a really long time since I have had service this amazing. I can't say enough good things about the young, pleasant and incredibly helpful young group of young professional ladies who work in that establishment. The love and care they show in their career speaks so highly of the characters that Simon Med has chosen to employ. I hope someone gets this review who cares that these girls are an asset to your company and gives them a vacation somewhere amazing with a beach and Margaritas . On top of the great care and fun banter they provided the energy among the girls created such a pleasant environment to be in. A breath of fresh air to have such nice customer service. read more

The staff (Abby - MRI tech & Vince - front desk)was very sweet & patient with my mom in making her feel as relaxed as possible for a MRI; which can be very daunting & claustrophobic. Very professional, clean, efficient & on time (even early). They do have Saturday appointments with limited availability & services. PS: also came in previous week for X-rays & was able to seen with short wait time (less than estimated wait time) as a walk-in; even with a full lobby. Very efficient & timely service. PSS: Again (multiple visits later); Abby & Vince are the best techs!! So sweet to my mom!!!! Remembered her & kept her as comfortable as possible by being exceptionally nice & funny!! Love them!! I told her I have insurance and a script for the doctor this can't be and she insisted I had to pay that amount. My mom was scheduled for CT Head and Neck W/Wo Contrast and MRI which was supposed to be With Contrast. According to the MRI Tech it said without contrast I should him the hard copy order which stated with contrast, my mom had already paid her $130 copay for the tests and now they said they would have to reschedule the MRI since they needed to clarify the order and she would have to pay another copay, Oh heck no she will not. Customer service is below zero. My appointment was at 10:30. I took time off from work. 10:45 I approached front desk which mind you young girls with no customer service skills, not friendly at all. One of them called to the tech and after that informed me there is 45!!!!!! minutes wait. So they are running one hour late and could care less to notify the patient. No consideration whatsoever. Both of the girls sitting and causally discussing their private matters while patients are waiting. Not cool at all. After a visit to my PCP's subsidiary's office, I needed to get a Chest X-Ray, and went downstairs to SimonMed Imaging. While the crowd wasn't huge, it was fairly crowed with about 8 or 9 people waiting. But, considering this, and not having an appointment, my wait time was pretty short (about 12 minutes). I got called into the room for the X-Rays. Was in and out in less than 3 minutes. The entire staff was polite, professional and courteous. So, unlike a few of the other reviews, I have no complaints (but, if you have to sit too long, those hard chairs could get a bit uncomfortable. However, they do have padded benches, too). read more

Wow, this place is really unprofessional and really dingy and dirty feeling. My doctor sent in specific orders, and yet one of the technicians came out to the front reception area and started telling the guy who checked me in that they don't do a certain test or that I didn't need that kind of a test or whatever she was saying I only caught some of the details. All I know is that she was talking about things about me out loud without even trying to be quiet about it in the front waiting area. Once I got back to have the mammogram done, I was told repeatedly that I didn't need the diagnostic test that the doctor had ordered. It s as if these people were trying to make decisions that overrode what my doctor wanted. After the second time, the comment was made that I didn't need that test and that they had to double check with their technician, I flat out told them that I'm here to have the test done. My doctor ordered whatever she ordered. I don't know anything about it. I have no idea why they felt it appropriate to complain to me about the confusion. That's not anything that the patient ever needed to know about. Then I got into the ultrasound room after the mammogram and the ultrasound technician started doing the same exact thing! Complaining to me about the fact that I didn't really need this exam and that they didn't know why my doctor ordered it that way and to top it off they said that I would have to deal with the ramifications of the insurance company if they decided not to pay for it I mean, are you freaking serious?? once again, I had to tell this person that I'm there for the exam. I have no idea what the doctor ordered and I'm not involved in that process.!! Besides, the fact, that all of this was incredibly unprofessional, the police felt dirty. It looked dirty, and there were two huge helium tanks in the middle of one of the hallways that the staff was complaining about because they couldn't get some of the patients easily around them. I have no idea why those were there. The whole experience was just unprofessional and I won't be returning to this location. read more

My review is more for the people checking the costs of certain exams and the billing department. The people who actually did my exams were very nice. I was scheduled to do an annual mammogram which was covered by my insurance. After doing the 1st one they wanted to do a 2nd one and an ultrasound. At the time of the appointment I was told it cost about $400 that I had to pay upfront before my appointment. I was surprised but went ahead and paid in case they found something serious. A month later I get a bill stating I owe an additional $200. When I checked my insurance claim I see the cost was actually less than what I had paid during the appointment. Why are they sending me a bill and why did I pay more than the actual cost the exam. My insurance company contacted their billing department. They agreed I was over charged and now showed I had a credit. They stated they would be refunding me but it could take 6 weeks. When 6 weeks came and went I called their billing department and sent the billing department an email. I was then told it could take 8 weeks. It's now been over 2 months. Still no refund. They overcharge patients and keep their money. I would recommend going to other places before coming to Simon med imaging. read more

Here I go. Went to this place before work, which corporate states all walk in XRAYS can be done from 0630 to close. My first encounter of the day and was told, "nope, not until 0830". I explained to her what I was told the day before, as listed above. "NOPE, not until 0830". Irritated I left, then I decided to go back in, due to a ORTHO appt the next day. Got the next young lady, she told me the same thing, what made a difference is she was kind, caring and explained to me that the second XRAY machine was under repair. Really???? The first one couldn't say that? That one told 4 more people the same thing, ones who came in before work. Then here comes one of her race, she gave him a map, this is where he could go and wished him a delightful day....I see how it is. Simon Med, you have a serious problem with that one. read more

This place sucks! They spent 7 days calling the wrong number. I called them and they never heard of me although they had left 3 messages with my spouse. When they called her again this week I called and the girl found my order. She made an appointment for me at the 'Thunderbird' confusing as heck complex especially at dark. The appointment was 9pm. No ONE showed up. I drove for 50 minutes and got there early. Finally left. Wasted 2 1/2 hours on this unprofessional company. After sitting I then lobby for 40 mins I was told I can't been seen, after leaving work early, because they didn't run my insurance. Even though it was given to them a week before the appointment date. Second time I am hoping it would be a different experience but it's not, they then try again to turn me away due to them not running my insurance prior to my 3 a clock appointment, I then inform them I did their job already by calling their office to confirm my insurance as well as calling my own insurance to verify. So they then say that they will see me, go to the back for the mri and now the machine doesn't work and they want to reschedule me. Do not go to any of the SimonMed locations. They are a very disorganized medical group and most people know about their poor reputation. In my case, I needed a diagnostic left breast exam and the insurance I currently have has SimonMed in network. I have been going to SML since 2015. I didn't know about SimonMed's poor reviews and set up an appointment at the Avondale office. I needed to be seen sooner than that appointment and the Avondale location is small and had no sooner appointments. It was late in the day so I called the scheduling department at 7:00am the following morning to see what location near me had availability. That is when the fiasco began. Scheduling called me back several times to reschedule due to overbooking my appointment with other patients. With all the back and forth, the Avondale Supervisor called me directly to say she wanted to take over getting an appointment scheduled at the Glendale facility. I finally got confirmation that I had an appointment at the Glendale location for the following morning. I asked repeatedly if my records and images would be at Glendale so I wouldn't waste a trip. I was assured by the Avondale supervisor that Glendale had my report which was sufficient for the technician to know what further imaging would be needed, but they were hopeful a CD of my images would arrive from SML. Since I didn't hear otherwise, I arrived at 8:45 the next morning at the Glendale center only to be told after 45 minutes of waiting that they didn't have my name on the schedule and did not have SML's images so they couldn't do the diagnostic. Just a complete waste of my time. Now that I know about their poor reputation, I feel it was a blessing SimonMed didn't do my diagnostic. I had a different doctor's appointment in the afternoon and told them about my morning. They immediately said: Oh SimonMed is awful, never go there. I asked other women throughout the next few days and they all said the same thing: Stay away from SimonMed. Hope this review helps prevent you from a terrible experience. Mammograms and rechecks are stressful enough and no one should have to go through what I experienced. I went with another imaging group and everything was handled smoothly, efficiently, and professionally. read more

I never even made it to the office They kept rescheduling me last minute because of insurance issues on their end The last appointment was built for a CT scan on a day the technician wasn't there and they don't do CT scans so why was I scheduled an appointment that day? I called the manager in Avondale I will admit I was not very pleasant but she ended up hanging up on me because I wasn't trying to listen to her explain to me how it's not her or her staff's fault there is no accountability whatsoever scheduling an appointment has been a nightmare I would rather have a heart attack than give them my service. read more

I called earlier today to confirm and yes for some odd my time was changed after I had already set work and babysitting plans for my original 7:15 7:30pm time. NOW it is 10:20pm IM HERE AFTER HOURS BEEN WAITING IN THE LOBBY FOR NOW 2 HOURS!! AND HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN BACK YET THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Summary: -The tech/staff seemed nice/competent but their scheduling is terrible. - Don't take appointments after lunch or your day is blown waiting..... If you make an appointment after lunch I am going to almost guarantee that you will be waiting. They request you to get there 30m early too! My 3pm appointment was delayed as there were two people still in front of me....so it will be about 35-40m before we can 'bring you back'! It would have been fine if they called me and told me so I could adjust but they waited until after I had done the paper work and paid....so at least I got to have that fun with a face mask. Millions of dollars in equipment and complicated insurance billing systems but we can't get a reminder call or an appointment update..... My advice - don't bother to go after 11 if you have a schedule at all to keep. I would say go somewhere else but they have one of the few 3T MRIs so you don't have much choice.... read more
