Spent $11, and I got a croissant donut, a fruit strudel with cream cheese, a maple bar, and really good Thai tea in a medium sized coke cup. This is a 24 hour mom and pop donut shop, based locally in Long Beach off Palo Verde and Stearns, that serves really good donuts that don't skimp on flavors, yet they're still at the best prices in the city. If you want donuts and you live in LB, please support this spot!

I'm a huge donut fan (they're my favorite dessert) and Simone's impressed me! They offer a variety of both traditional and cake donuts that all looked delicious and were reasonably priced. I ordered a cronut and it might be the best I've had. My husband ordered an old fashioned donut and loved it as well. I came on a Saturday morning and there was a decent amount of people there, but the line moved quickly. Service was friendly and efficient. It's located in a strip mall with a small parking lot.

I was visiting Long Beach over Thanksgiving and decided to check out Simone's Donuts on Thursday morning around 10 a.m. Honestly, what a find! Even as someone not from the area, I felt welcomed right away. What made the stop memorable: * Fresh and fun flavors. I tried their Turkey Donut -- yes, a turkey-shaped donut for Thanksgiving -- and it was surprisingly delicious and super festive. It's the kind of whimsical treat that puts a smile on your face before the first bite. * Lots of variety. From creative holiday specials to classics, they have something for every mood. I also grabbed a couple of other donuts to go, and each one was soft, fresh, and perfectly sweet. * Friendly service. The staff was kind and patient as I stared at the cases trying to decide -- always appreciated, especially when you're visiting and unfamiliar with the selection. * Great prices for great donuts. Easy to indulge without feeling guilty about your wallet. As a traveler, I love discovering local gems -- and Simone's is definitely one I'll remember. If you're ever in Long Beach, whether you're a local or just passing through for a holiday like I was, this place deserves a stop. I'll be coming back next time I'm in town!

I'm visiting from Honolulu and had to transport a couple of apple fritters to my wife who stayed home. We use to visit this place years ago when she attended CSULB. There was a fresh and abundant offering when we visited the shop around 9 pm. They had a huge ham and cheese croissant looking creation that I was tempted to purchase (it was the size of a small infant...no lie). I hope she is happy. This is our go to donut place when visiting home. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

These donuts are so good! We were in the Long Beach area and I was craving some good old fashion donuts. I looked in the area and saw that these had some highly rated old fashion donuts which were right up my alley. When we arrived here we saw a lot of people here on the Saturday morning. This got us excited cause big crowds usually mean good food and luckily they were quick to serve here so we didn't have to wait long. We got 2 old fashion donuts and a cronut and they were both amazing. The cronuts were some of the best I have had in recent memory and same with the old fashion. The price for these donuts were also very reasonable too. Another positive is that they're open 24 hours so you can have your donut needs met 24 hours of the day. Overall this is the perfect donut place. It's amazing donuts at a reasonable price what's not to like. We are definitely thinking about returning here in the future.

Once again, Simone's kills it with the best donuts in town! Coffee isn't good but it's 1.90 but it's forgivable. I got my standard plain and coconut glazed. Immaculate. The service is always good because they are well-staffed. The inside is clean and they have bars for half and half and sugar to put in your coffee. Plenty of seating because most people are in and out.

We ordered custom donuts from this shop for my niece's 2nd birthday, and they turned out absolutely perfect Not only were they adorable and exactly what we asked for, but they were also fresh and delicious. Everyone loved them, especially my niece. Highly recommend this spot for custom orders and special celebrations

My wife and I got up on a Sunday for an early LA Dodgers game at 9:00AM. We decided to to order donuts from Simone's Donuts delivered by Grub hub . The donuts are always airy, fresh and perfectly sugared without being over sweet. They are open 24 hours a day Always fresh donuts are prepared fresh ALL DAY. We got 2 Raspberry filled glazed donuts, the filling is so flavorful and full. We also got 2 Classic glazed donut which was light fresh and perfectly sweet. To top off our 1/2 dozen we got 2 Huge cinnamon roll donut. It is a good yeast donut with nice crispy deep cinnamon layer. This donut shop is an independent donut shop that uses high quality ingredients expertly prepared. It is truly a donut shop.

First time coming here in the evening! Fresh donuts being trayed as I waited! Just picked up a few (not my usual 2-3 dozen!), Apple Fritters and Blueberry donuts. Fresh and Tasty! Simone's is our favorite local donut place! Friendly service and great donuts!

Simone's Donuts has some of the best donuts I've ever had! My favorite is the blueberry donut. Must try!

I love Simone's! Delicious, fresh donuts anytime, day or night. Their buttermilk bars are huge and tender. Raspberry filled donuts bursting with jam. Massive ham and cheese croissants. Service here is always fast and friendly. Patrons include the occasional unhoused but it doesn't feel unsafe. Unfortunately parking here is terrible. Odd shaped parking lot is always full since there's a bar and restaurant in the same strip mall. Try to park nearby on the street.

I'm so stoked to have found the sister cafe to Seaside Bakery in Newport! After speaking to the owners' daughter, I was happy to learn that this family-run business is Thai-Cambodian and their in-laws run the Newport location. There was no line compared to the Newport location and their food is just as good as I remember their other location to be! My all time favorite is the ham, cheese, jalapeño croissant toasted. The Thai tea was also delicious! Very cute and classic, vintage donut shop vibes!

Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! At Long Beach's Sweet Retreat Donuts, that meant limited-edition experimental donut varieties (mostly with tropical flavor profiles), as well as a reliable vegan donut lineup. Clearly, Sweet Retreat has been doing something right, as it's been a Pacific Coast Highway favorite for a decade. Over the years, it has garnered recognition from plenty of local news outlets, from Eater LA to LAist. The cramped strip mall is more eye-catching for its reptile supply store rather than its donut shop. Inside the shop, the expansive, donut-themed cartoon mural to the right immediately makes a statement. Houseplants are plentiful across the otherwise undecorated, whitewashed walls. Donuts are organized on trays by price, with the charge doodled directly onto the glass with a white marker. Ambient noise from the television is drowned out by chattering customers and the buzzing coffee machine. During the summer months, the AC-less shop feels tropically balmy. My partner and I arrived at Sweet Retreat late one Sunday morning, and the shop still boasted a steady stream of customers. By the time of our visit, the remaining selection was regrettably slim -- beyond the standard fare, the most unique donuts sported either candy coating or tropical frosting. We opted for a hibiscus-frosted raised donut and an apple fritter. The former had an excellent donut base, and the hibiscus frosting was floral and tropical (albiet I would have enjoyed a more punchy flavor). Meanwhile, the apple fritter fell on the cinnamon-y side, heavily doused in glaze so that each bite (even the edges) melted in your mouth; Sweet Retreat's rendition was one of my favorites in Greater LA. Our Vietnamese iced coffee was strong and sugary, but nothing more memorable than peer coffeeshops. The service was efficient, and our two donuts cost a reasonable $5 (even frill-free mom-and-pop shops charge in this range nowadays). The selection was sorely lacking, but Sweet Retreat more than made up for that with its high quality and reasonable prices. This bakery may not warrant a dedicated trip out of the way, but it is sure to deliver a satisfying treat if you're already in the neighborhood.

As I entered the parking lot I witnessed a lady hanging out of the window of a car missing a rear bumper, cursing at a minivan that looked like it had recently been involved in a series of hit-and-run crimes. I'm unclear what occurred before I got there, but kept my head down and quickly parked and scurried inside. The entrance had cardboard on the ground laid out like some sort of Oscar the Grouch red carpet. There were two people sitting at the middle two tables with portable shopping carts filled with assorted belongings. The interior matched the rest of neighborhood with random stuff laid out on counter tops, and a general dirty feeling that made me consider whether I wanted to buy food here, but I was already inside. There was a single woman working the counter. She was polite and matter of fact. I had promised my kids donuts, so I ordered my box to go. While she used appropriate tongs to put them in the box, she didn't bother to fully close or seal the box. I quickly fidgeted for my keys and pulled the door closed and locked it behind me. This was at 9am. I cannot imagine this place late at night.
