Years years back we traveled to VT and made a destination the glas factory as it was our "glass" anniversary. We discovered they had a wonderful little restaurant that looked over the river and waterfall. We have been traveling back to VT and we decided to return and see of the charm was still there. And it was! This showroom, glass works and history provided though stories posted throughout are worth visiting just for their own interested. The dining options include a fully enclosed outside porch that offers views of the wonderfully Vermont covered bridge, waterfall and waterways. Now the food. Simple prepared chicken which was delicious to a flavorful Hake prepared so I could enjoy the fish!. We loved the salad, which the staff split onto two plates which was a just right portion. And then a peach Melba sorbet was a perfect end to a meal on a very hot day. There is a local maker of these specialty sorbets and the staff was thrilled to tell us about them. And the staff, friendly and fun and focused on making sure you were enjoying your meal. We did!! read more

Not only do they blow their own glass but they also have a store where they sell their merchandise. After you're done browsing the store they have a lovely (but pricey) dining area. This is a copy of the formal report made through the Americans with Disabilities Act. This report has also been sent to head chef Jeremy Conaway and general manager Nick Karabelas. Dear ADA Office, I am writing to file a formal complaint against Simon Pearce Restaurant in Quechee, VT, for discrimination related to my service animal, which occurred on February 20, 2025. As a service dog handler for the past three years and a disability advocate, I was deeply disturbed by the treatment I received, which I believe violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). I made a reservation at the restaurant two days in advance and clearly communicated my accommodation needs, specifying that I have a large service dog and would require adequate space for her. Upon arrival, I was shown to a table in the middle of the restaurant, and I was told that my dog would need to fit under a decorative table surrounded by expensive glass-blown vases. When I attempted to settle my dog, a Great Dane, in the space, I was informed by the host that if she didn't fit, we would be asked to leave. This was a direct violation of my rights under the ADA, as businesses are required to make reasonable accommodations for service animals. Despite my attempts to make my dog comfortable in the limited space, she simply could not fit. Our waitress, who was kind and accommodating, informed us that there were other, more accessible tables available. However, the host had previously insisted that only two specific tables--both similarly cramped--were available. It appeared as though the host intentionally withheld the more appropriate seating option, which ultimately led to an environment where my service dog and I were unable to be adequately accommodated. The situation became further distressing when my service dog attempted to alert me due to my heightened heart rate caused by anxiety. To add to the discomfort, a neighboring diner rudely remarked, "Please move, it's unappetizing to sit next to a dog." This comment further compounded the emotional distress I was experiencing. As a result of this discriminatory treatment, I chose to leave the restaurant. I felt humiliated, unsupported, and discriminated against, which is the opposite of what I expect from any establishment, especially one with such a reputable name. I am filing this complaint to formally bring this matter to the attention of the ADA and request that you investigate Simon Pearce Restaurant's policies and practices regarding the accommodation of service animals. I believe their actions not only violated my rights under the ADA but also created an environment where I was not treated with dignity or respect. I appreciate your time and attention to this matter and look forward to hearing about any actions you plan to take. read more

This was my first time at Simon Pearce ever and I enjoyed the experience. My cocktail was great, the chicken sandwich was delicious and the Artisan art to select from was off the charts. Being able to see live glass blowing was also very cool. The only downside to my experience was our waitress. She was not very nice or accommodating. She seemed to have this negative attitude about her and also sassed us when we didn't know to put our entire food orders in at once. Other than that, we had a fantastic meal! read more

We dined here this evening and wanted to love it. But we just didn't. We were seated in what I assume to be the most magical table in the place - directly in front of the stunning views of the waterfall. Breathtaking! The bread was good - 2 rolls and a few pieces of a brown bread. Decent start. The menu is small - which I typically love. It typically means the few things they do, they do perfectly. This was just not the case here. The Vermont cheddar soup was delicious. The winter salad was good - it was unfortunately overdressed and uninspired. My husband and I both ordered the ravioli du jour - which was supposed to be spinach and cherry with Parmesan in a brown butter sauce. 1. There was no sauce. A small drizzle of brown butter over pan fried ravioli that were tough to even cut and had a horrible chewy consistency. 2. There were no cherries, rather, it seems they substituted with cranberries instead which was odd and not mentioned to us beforehand. 3. The ravioli were stuffed with smoked cheddar cheese and cranberries. There was a pile of bland spinach with cranberries in the middle of the plate. It was so underwhelming. They could have added some goat cheese to the winter salad, underdress it (and serve some on the side) and put some salt and pepper in the dressing. The spinach should have been sautéed with garlic at least. I added salt and pepper twice. My husband loves creme brûlée and we get it almost everywhere we go if it's on the menu. We had the maple creme brûlée and again - left something to be desired. There must have been a tiny bit of maple put on top and then brûléed - the first bite or two, I was SEARCHING for the maple and it was nearly undetectable. After chewing the brûlée'd bit - there was the most subtle hint of maple. Our waitress Sue was a doll! Views were incredible. Would consider trying again for brunch or lunch during the daytime. Glass shop is gorgeous! Wish the dinner we had was as beautiful. read more

We enjoyed the duck which was perfectly prepared along with lamb shanks that were fall off the bone tender. DO NOT buy their factory seconds (blems)!! They are total garbage!! They are nothing like the glass pieces they are supposed to resemble. I purchased some whiskey glasses that did not have the thick bottom as they were supposed to. The bottoms were thin as cheap junky juice glasses you might find at some discount store. They should have trashed them. I mentioned it to Simon Pearce and they sent me another pair but they looked just the same. I just wasted $150!! They might make nice stuff but don't look for a price break by purchasing the seconds. Junk, junk, junk!!! Spend a little more and buy their correct ones. read more

We had a reservation for 10 for 2 pm lunch today for our son's Dartmouth graduation. As we arrived at the parking lot I got a phone call from the manager telling me casually that restaurant lost power, and not serving anyone. No apologies, no alternative suggestions. We were told no point to wait as it will take long time to restore power. Reservation was made 6 months ago and confirmed several times. Family and friends (some all the way from London, UK) along with graduate had to scramble to find a place to eat on that very busy day of Dartmouth commencement. Still in shock from such a poor customer service. We'll stay away from the place. read more

All were very delicious, grilled chicken salad the chicken was a little bland. However I ordered the crispy clamari salad and it was excellent. I've been coming to Simon Pearce with my parents since I was 2 years old, and we were all thrilled to go back on a recent visit to the area. If you can, sit on the screened-in deck and enjoy the views of the waterfall and covered bridge-- it makes the experience that much more special. Simon Pearce has always had a great, fairly small menu but with something for everyone. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we opted to come back for lunch a couple of days later. The cuisine is contemporary American, with flavors from all over the world incorporated into the dishes. I enjoyed the Indian spiced prawns appetizer, as well as the chèvre and ricotta agnolotti. All meals come with some excellent house made Irish brown bread and either dinner rolls or the other-worldly "Rory's scones," depending on when you're there. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Upper Valley area. All the dishes we ordered were flavorful, with some favorites being the lamb and the seafood stew. The dessert menu is also delicious with locally made ice cream being served as well. Being located in the glass shop makes it a fun experience as you can checkout the glass being made downstairs, look at the different products being sold in the first floor, and also checkout the waterfall outside. I attended a wedding rehearsal dinner at Simon Pearce during a Nor'easter on December 16th. The food was truly amazing! I had braised beef tips on risotto - and it was the BEST braised beef tips I have ever had. Dessert was apple cake or crème brûlée. Both were fabulous - but if anything, I'd say the crème brûlée was too large. (I know - what a thing to "complain" about...) and yes - I had both! Everything was fabulous the setting of course is gorgeous, the staff was very pleasant and I suspect they all wanted to get headed home as the roads were treacherous - but never a hint of impatience. Got a nice table great view, lady at front desk was nice. Waited years for a birthday reservation-this time got it 5 months ago and finally made it. Adults chose meats as it was a Sunday, when I avoid fish and shellfish owing to apprehensions about freshness. Braised short ribs were akin to boiled meat with amazingly no flavor, more of a slow cooked stewmeat pulling apart like a BBQ pulled pork might...no fat at all anywhere and the sauce could not make up for it. I did not finish it, and it was served warm, not hot. Mashed potatoes and beans were good. Long Island Duck was good, again served warm, not hot. I like duck fat, but the fat could have been used better by being seared more, to be crunchier. Child's menu pasta seemed like day old by being dry, and tomato sauce was not good. Child's salmon was alright...at least not the tail end but a central cut. Child did not come close to finishing either. Bloody Mary's were good. Draft selection a bit too limited to IPA varietals, though stout was good. I was prepared for a big bill provided quality, which was not there. Dessert bread pudding was 6/10-did not notice any hint of Baileys Irish Cream and chunks were too finely chopped for me who likes a more rustic cut to the bread in my pudding. Creme Brulee' was not that good. Butter in the bread and butter was very good. Reputation in this instance appears quite overblown to the detriment of the first time consumer. read more

We SO wanted this to be the highlight of our trip, but sadly it was not. We had reservations at 7pm on Saturday, Oct. 1st. We purposely arrived early to watch glass blowing, browse the glassware, take pictures by the falls, and have a couple of drinks at the bar. We were able to do all of that. The bar had good energy and the drinks were lovely. Then we were seated in the restaurant. The room was stark, with horrible flooring and furniture. It was such a mis-match from the rest of the place. Our server had no personality whatsoever. I ordered the kale salad, which I would highly recommend. It didn't even taste like kale! My wife had the salad with blue cheese and said there was not enough blue cheese at all. We split the Cod, which tasted good, but didn't look so appetizing on the plate with the balsamic gravy (see pic). Overall, we were very underwhelmed. read more

Every item is a unique, highly decorative piece that retains individual characteristics reflecting the intensive skill and labor required by the glassblowers (which do affect the price for this unique keepsake from your visit to Vermont). The restaurant offers locally-inspired cuisine served by friendly and knowledgeable staff in a moderately-upscale ambiance. The view of the Outtaquechee River gorge and the Quechee Covered Bridge is phenomenal and all of the tableware is produced by Simon Pearce and available for you to purchase in the adjacent showroom. The menu offers something for everyone - including vegan and gluten-free options. My dining companion and I both ordered off the Daily Special menu. I opted for the Curry Chicken Salad, served over greens; my dining companion ordered the Quiche of the Day, served with greens. We both those our choices were very tasty, satisfying portions, and reasonably priced given the environment. We'll definitely be back, next time we're in the area. Pro Tip: With lots of fragile and expensive items within a toddler's reach throughout the store, this isn't a child-friendly environment so leave your young children at home. read more

She had to ask numerous times for a coffee refill and to get more creamer for it. It was my birthday and while we were eating out dessert, the host came and stuck a birthday decoration toothpick in our blueberry crisp. I don't think staff should be interacting with your food while you're eating it. Overall, the lunch was terrific. The food was well worth a return visit. Went to Simon Pearce location in QueChee VT to shop for bar glasses. Pleasantly surprised they have a restaurant, bar and workshop that displays glass-making craftsmanship. We didn't eat here, just shopped and enjoyed the scenery which overlooks a river and waterfall. Glass work is very nice, but quite expensive and probably accessible to wealthier shoppers who can afford to pay $75 for a single wine glass. In the photo below displaying four glasses, 2 are from Simon Pearce ($65/$75 each) and 2 from Dollar Tree ($1 each). One of my favorite places in all of New England is the Simon Pearce headquarters in Quechee VT. The glass creations they make here are amazing and the seconds area in the back can always produce a bargain. I also love that they invite you into the basement to see how the glass is made. It feels like every single glass maker is kind and friendly as they show you how they do it. All of that would be enough of a draw for me, but when you add to it the on-sight restaurant - this place is over-the-top amazing. Most tables overlook a river and a waterfall and a covered bridge. The menu offers everything from fancy to comfort food items and everything is great. I recommend the Vermont Cheddar soup. You can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Everything is great! I hadn't been here since my graduation dinner 3 years ago and remembered it being so phenomenal, especially at sunset. If you're on the porch or by a window the view is absolutely breathtaking. Depending on the meal you choose, you may be disappointed but on the whole the food is amazing. Service can also vary, they're generally friendly but not always the most attentive. Mushroom fondue- not what we were expecting but very pleased. Less cheese than anticipated, but a wonderful blend of flavors Braised short rib- generous serving, but when we got it it was very dry and could have used much more gravy Tenderloin- simply delicious. Tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection! Horseradish crusted cod- so perfectly crisp on the outside and most and flaky on the inside. The mashed potatoes and leeks compliment it so well, but I didn't love the balsamic reduction Overall a wonderful experience, but I would certainly recommend going when the sun is still up! read more

Found this through AAA before realizing a bunch of friends had been there and also loved it. We stopped with the kids on the way to Burlington to stretch legs and have lunch. When you enter the building you are in the display room/gift shop so you do need to have control of your kids. We went downstairs to watch the glass blowing first which was awesome. You can get fairly close and get a great view of the process. There's also a hallway with some pictures hung that tell the history of the shop and the unfortunate Hurricane Irene damage. There's a balcony (with railing) you can take that puts you right over the waterfall with a great view of the covered car bridge. We had lunch and the food was amazing! It is a nicer restaurant so again keep that in mind when taking kids. They do have coloring sheets and a kids menu but it's tight between tables so you want your kids to stay in place. I read the reviews about staff not being polite especially if you have kids and that could not be further from my experience. Everyone was welcoming and our waiter stopped multiple times to talk to the kids and check in. At no time did I feel unwelcome and we had 3 kids under 7 with us. We went back to the gift shop afterwards to shop and I picked out a great book with the history of shop and recipes from the restaurant. Can't wait to try making those delicious mini scones! This was a wonderful stop in our vacation and I highly recommend a visit. For adults they also have an upstairs with whiskey tastings in the evenings. read more

If you do get a chance to sit outdoors, it's a beautiful view of the waterfall and totally worth coming early for. My friends really enjoyed their cocktails, and I appreciated their non-alcoholic options as well. (Tost is delicious!) The food was very well prepared, reasonably priced for brunch, and definitely well portioned. They have a little something for everyone (not a lot, but it's there), e.g. one gluten free and one vegetarian option. Though the desserts I was told was all gluten free. (A bit sweet for my taste, but the local ice cream is great). From the looks of it and feedback from everyone, there wasn't a single dish that wasn't delicious, but if I could have ordered it, the sesame chicken probably looks the most amazing. We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely of a lunch we had here. Service was very friendly, the bar had wonderful selections and the menu offered hearty as well as light seasonal dishes. While most diners seem to be 80% visitors to this very popular tourist town, everyone was happy to visit the glassblowing demonstrations after enjoying a yummy meal. We also really appreciated the precautions taken by the restaurant to ensure everyone's safety by asking for COVID vaccine proof.
