I was given a beautiful tall, heart shaped bud vase some years ago.(Highgate Heart Bud Vase). It was perfect for single buds and made my heart sing every time I looked at it. Sadly I recently bumped it while in the sink and it broke. I looked online and they had some seconds available but, only through their retail stores. I called the store in Vermont to order and the woman who answered took my order. She was so helpful and lovely. The box arrived today and the vase is perfect; must have very high standards because there is no sign this is a second!! Thank you Simon Pearce and the kind woman who helped me! Heading out to the garden now to pick a rose!! read more

The restaurant is located in an idyllic New England setting that sets the scene for an excellent meal. The specialty drinks were outstanding, and the food was super yummy. We came for lunch on a Monday and had no trouble with parking. Reservations are a MUST for this place no matter when you plan to visit. The service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant was quiet and we appreciated the use of Simon Pearce glassware in the table settings. read more

Simon Pearce - Salmon lunch - New American Near Me - Quechee, Vermont

I have been to Simon Pearce, in Quechee, Vt, 3 times I think but apparently never wrote a review. It is a lovely place though recently suffered some severe damage in a hurricane/ flood. The interior is all repaired but the waterfall had damaged so much around, outside, it is barely recognizable. The Bridge over the river there had to be rebuilt. The rocks under the waterfall are all exposed, the sandy bottom sculpted into waves. Eventually it should be back to normal outside but at least it is already back to normal inside. We were visiting recently, again able to still see the glass blowers working as that level of the historic building had been under water. The displays of glassware, whether useful serving pieces or art decor are always beautiful. For the first time, I did not purchase anything during my visit, but I nearly did. My house has plenty of decor, several pieces from here and maybe now, that is enough. These are not trinkets, this is art glass. But I was truly tempted. The one sad thing we discovered was that there was no way possible for us to have our lunch in their wonderful restaurant where I have eaten twice before. It was full, and full for the whole day, no waitlist even available. I do not know how far in advance you need to get reservations these, but you clearly do need them. Not surprising given how good their food is, as I knew from my previous meals. So we wandered on to Woodstock on our fall tour, to find a meal.E read more

Came on a Saturday around 5. They were busy, but the bartender Brendan let us peek at the menu while we waited. He was honest that they got sat all at once and asked if we could hang for a minute while they caught up. We happily waited and it was definitely worth the wait. Brendan was attentive and helped to surprise us with our cheese board selections, all of which were delicious. The tap beer was crisp & my cocktail was delicious as well. We would absolutely come back next time we're in the area! Thank you, Brendan! read more

We enjoyed a late lunch at the Simon Pearce restaurant today. The service and hospitality were fantastic. We were greeted cordially at the hostess station, our server was incredibly personable and attentive. All of the other staff we encountered were pleasantly engaging. We sat outside on the screened-in porch and enjoyed watching a group of young people jumping, flipping and diving into the river from the covered bridge and large stone structures. On to the food, we shared the green green salad which was very well composed and tasty. Hubs had the special Poke bowl, I had the ricotta gnocchi - both dishes were delicious. We loved the beverages we enjoyed, all served in Simon Pearce vessels. We plan to return for dinner at Simon Pearce soon. read more

Food is okay - the overall experience is better. I liked exploring the premises to see the waterfall outside and watching the glassblowing. I imagine view is beautiful in the autumn months. I would come back for drinks then. read more

What a disappointment. My wife and I have been eating here periodically over the last 30 years. The food was always fresh and creative. We started with an old favorite: their cheddar soup. It was lumpy and not particularly cheesy...too much flour in the roux? My wife had their quiche: it was warmed over and dried out. I had fish and chips. I was served two large deep fried fish (haddock?) put on top of old, barely warm French fries. Inedible. The bill for three people was over two hundred dollars (including tip). Absolutely not worth it. Whoever is managing the food service should look hard at the quality and appeal of their product. read more

My family and I had a wonderful experience celebrating my dad's birthday at Simon Pearce. Such a cool spot! We had reservations for a late lunch and were seated by a window when it was our time. Beautiful views of the river, and just beautiful atmosphere overall. The silverware they use is of course by Simon Pearce, and it was cool to know it was made there! For food I had the sesame chicken with noodles. The chicken was tender and the flavor was delicious. I especially enjoyed the noodles~ they were light and complimentary to the chicken. My fiancé had the beef stew and said it was nice and hearty for a cold day. He just wished there was a side of rice or bread to go with it, but that was just his personal preference. My mom and sister got the salmon and they both raved about it. Finally, my dad got the steak and of course really enjoyed that~ it was cooked to his liking and the sides were delicious. Overall we really enjoyed our food and overall experience and will 100% be coming back! Not to mention the glass blowing downstairs is such an awesome attraction/thing to do before or after the meal. And there's also a lookout porch area to view the river and gorge. Great for pictures!! read more

Genuinely awful experience. My friends and I had a reservation for 8pm to celebrate a birthday. This was a few days after a severe snowstorm that left the roads icy, and, in many places, unplowed. Anticipating the delay that this might cause, we called ahead to warn that we would be late. The man on the phone informed us of their strict 15 minute grace window. We told them that the GPS anticipated our arrival at 8:15, and we would do our best to hurry. But just as we reached the host, the clock ticked 8:16. He informed us that he could not honor our reservation, even though we had exceeded the grace period by only one minute. We pleaded--citing the snow, the ice--but he did not budge. Instead, he offered one piece of advice: had we considered Chili's or Applebee's in West Leb? Frankly, I find this suggestion silly at best and offensive at worst. There are a number of similar-caliber restaurants in the Upper Valley that he could have suggested, if he felt the need to suggest one at all. Instead of taking his advice, we went to Carpenter and Main in Norwich. If you're reading this, I highly suggest you take your business there, too. read more

3 stars for the delicious food but unfortunately the horrible service spoiled our experience! The waitress was nasty and aloof. She never went over specials, we had to ask for bread and at the end said that they were out of the mini pecan pie and ice cream. We asked to speak to the manager and....voila! Turns out they were not out after all. Please train your people! read more

We went for my husband birthday dinner. The ambience and the views are truly beautiful! We ordered the cauliflower starter and the green salad which were quite tasty, and for entree gnocchi and the steak. The gnocchi were disappointing.. the sauce aside from an orange peel accent was bland and the whole dish felt lifeless. My husband 70 $ steak arrived cold. A 70$ steak should be perfect. The staff was cold and not welcoming. I see from other reviewers that I am not the only person saying that. High end restaurants take pride in their service and people are willing to pay top dollar for their whole experience not just the food. I wouldn't want to come back again and leave hundred dollars so I can feel uncomfortable and read more

From walking in the door to paying the bill, nothing disappointed. We were there to celebrate our 29th anniversary and, taking note without prompting, the general manager Nick managed to secure a table for us by the window looking out on the river. Our server Megan was efficient and cheerful, and had excellent suggestions. Everything from the Vermont cheddar soup to the mussels in an incredible sauce with a generous portion of challah for soaking up the sauce, to the lamb shepherd's pie that actually tasted like lamb, to the crème brûlée that rivaled the one my husband had in Paris, all were exceptional. Truly a wonderful experience and cannot wait to come back. read more

Simon Pearce - Scene outside our table's window. - New American Near Me - Quechee, Vermont

We initially wanted to come here for dinner but didn't have reservations and the bar looked cooler. So we came when the bar opened and had a few cocktails. I got the old fashion. My friends got mahanttan and espresso martini. The cocktails were excellent and made very well. They also serve dinner menu at the bar starting at 5:30. We didn't really see anything we liked so we just got some mussels to share. The mussels were quite delicious. But I wish they put the fries on the side or to one side because it just got really soggy after a few minutes. But mussels were fresh and broth was flavorful. Great views too! There's a glass shop too but it's super pricey. Like one martini glass was over $100. The quality did seem thicker and nicer since I think SP is brand name for glassware. read more

Delicious food and drinks served in/on Simon Pearce glassware. The ambiance is incredible, as this restaurant sits right along the Quechee River. Few things are more peaceful to me than watching flowing water. During the busy season you do need to make a reservation a few weeks in advance if you'd like to get dinner. We got a lunch spot since that's all they had available 1 week prior. Once in, the service is great. The staff is very accommodating to allergies and don't make you feel like an inconvenience for making special requests. The food is delicious and the menu is small, but diverse enough that there is something for everyone. read more

We had a 2pm reservation for lunch. The place was fairly quiet which was nice. The restaurant overlooks some water & scenic views. They have a nice menu with a variety of salads, appetizers (calamari, pork belly bao ), soup (Vermont cheddar) and entrees. My friend and I shared the lamb burger and the fish cakes. I thought the lamb burger was excellent. The lamb comes from a nearby farm. The fish cakes were good and came with some salad greens. Our server was friendly and attentive. read more

Years years back we traveled to VT and made a destination the glas factory as it was our "glass" anniversary. We discovered they had a wonderful little restaurant that looked over the river and waterfall. We have been traveling back to VT and we decided to return and see of the charm was still there. And it was! This showroom, glass works and history provided though stories posted throughout are worth visiting just for their own interested. The dining options include a fully enclosed outside porch that offers views of the wonderfully Vermont covered bridge, waterfall and waterways. Now the food. Simple prepared chicken which was delicious to a flavorful Hake prepared so I could enjoy the fish!. We loved the salad, which the staff split onto two plates which was a just right portion. And then a peach Melba sorbet was a perfect end to a meal on a very hot day. There is a local maker of these specialty sorbets and the staff was thrilled to tell us about them. And the staff, friendly and fun and focused on making sure you were enjoying your meal. We did!! read more

This was a very unique experience- in a good way! I had no idea that this venue does their own glass blowing & used the waterfall to power their operations. Not only do they blow their own glass but they also have a store where they sell their merchandise. After you're done browsing the store they have a lovely (but pricey) dining area. I ordered the duck & my husband ordered the steak - both were fresh & perfectly cooked. For dessert I ordered the pavlova & hubby got the maple crème brûlée! Service was excellent! 10/10 experience! read more

This place was on my bucket list simply for the views! The ambiance is absolutely stunning inside and out. The hostess was very nice and we were accommodated for an earlier reservation time which we requested on our reservation. The two downfalls to our visit: the waitress and the food. The waitress had zero personality. When asked for some recommendations (one meal over another) she was zero help and seemed bothered we asked. Her lack of personality followed through our entire visit. The food; I had the chicken and my friend had the cod. The presentation far exceeds the taste. It's a lot of money for marginal food. Happy to have gone but would not return. read more

We dined here this evening and wanted to love it. But we just didn't. We were seated in what I assume to be the most magical table in the place - directly in front of the stunning views of the waterfall. Breathtaking! The bread was good - 2 rolls and a few pieces of a brown bread. Decent start. The menu is small - which I typically love. It typically means the few things they do, they do perfectly. This was just not the case here. The Vermont cheddar soup was delicious. The winter salad was good - it was unfortunately overdressed and uninspired. My husband and I both ordered the ravioli du jour - which was supposed to be spinach and cherry with Parmesan in a brown butter sauce. 1. There was no sauce. A small drizzle of brown butter over pan fried ravioli that were tough to even cut and had a horrible chewy consistency. 2. There were no cherries, rather, it seems they substituted with cranberries instead which was odd and not mentioned to us beforehand. 3. The ravioli were stuffed with smoked cheddar cheese and cranberries. There was a pile of bland spinach with cranberries in the middle of the plate. It was so underwhelming. They could have added some goat cheese to the winter salad, underdress it (and serve some on the side) and put some salt and pepper in the dressing. The spinach should have been sautéed with garlic at least. I added salt and pepper twice. My husband loves creme brûlée and we get it almost everywhere we go if it's on the menu. We had the maple creme brûlée and again - left something to be desired. There must have been a tiny bit of maple put on top and then brûléed - the first bite or two, I was SEARCHING for the maple and it was nearly undetectable. After chewing the brûlée'd bit - there was the most subtle hint of maple. Our waitress Sue was a doll! Views were incredible. Would consider trying again for brunch or lunch during the daytime. Glass shop is gorgeous! Wish the dinner we had was as beautiful. read more

Simon Pearce - Perfect view - New American Near Me - Quechee, Vermont

This is a copy of the formal report made through the Americans with Disabilities Act. This report has also been sent to head chef Jeremy Conaway and general manager Nick Karabelas. Dear ADA Office, I am writing to file a formal complaint against Simon Pearce Restaurant in Quechee, VT, for discrimination related to my service animal, which occurred on February 20, 2025. As a service dog handler for the past three years and a disability advocate, I was deeply disturbed by the treatment I received, which I believe violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). I made a reservation at the restaurant two days in advance and clearly communicated my accommodation needs, specifying that I have a large service dog and would require adequate space for her. Upon arrival, I was shown to a table in the middle of the restaurant, and I was told that my dog would need to fit under a decorative table surrounded by expensive glass-blown vases. When I attempted to settle my dog, a Great Dane, in the space, I was informed by the host that if she didn't fit, we would be asked to leave. This was a direct violation of my rights under the ADA, as businesses are required to make reasonable accommodations for service animals. Despite my attempts to make my dog comfortable in the limited space, she simply could not fit. Our waitress, who was kind and accommodating, informed us that there were other, more accessible tables available. However, the host had previously insisted that only two specific tables--both similarly cramped--were available. It appeared as though the host intentionally withheld the more appropriate seating option, which ultimately led to an environment where my service dog and I were unable to be adequately accommodated. The situation became further distressing when my service dog attempted to alert me due to my heightened heart rate caused by anxiety. To add to the discomfort, a neighboring diner rudely remarked, "Please move, it's unappetizing to sit next to a dog." This comment further compounded the emotional distress I was experiencing. As a result of this discriminatory treatment, I chose to leave the restaurant. I felt humiliated, unsupported, and discriminated against, which is the opposite of what I expect from any establishment, especially one with such a reputable name. I am filing this complaint to formally bring this matter to the attention of the ADA and request that you investigate Simon Pearce Restaurant's policies and practices regarding the accommodation of service animals. I believe their actions not only violated my rights under the ADA but also created an environment where I was not treated with dignity or respect. I appreciate your time and attention to this matter and look forward to hearing about any actions you plan to take. read more

I've been coming to Simon Pearce with my parents since I was 2 years old, and we were all thrilled to go back on a recent visit to the area. If you can, sit on the screened-in deck and enjoy the views of the waterfall and covered bridge-- it makes the experience that much more special. Simon Pearce has always had a great, fairly small menu but with something for everyone. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we opted to come back for lunch a couple of days later. The cuisine is contemporary American, with flavors from all over the world incorporated into the dishes. I enjoyed the Indian spiced prawns appetizer, as well as the chèvre and ricotta agnolotti. All meals come with some excellent house made Irish brown bread and either dinner rolls or the other-worldly "Rory's scones," depending on when you're there. This time, dinner was served with rolls and lunch with scones. Be sure to check out the factory store for some beautiful hand-blown glassware! read more
