    Baked Sole

Thyme is a modern-style vibe restaurant that is nested in the old heart of white river junction. Unfortunately, the vibe is where it peaks. My major gripe is the cost of the food relative to the quality/quantity. I expected a $36 medium-rare Teres major steak to have a "melt-in-your-mouth" sensation, but it didn't. The $27 baked sole tasted fresh, but I would have preferred some more seasoning. Lastly, I am a bread pudding fanatic and order it almost everywhere it is available. The caramel chocolate chip bread pudding got me excited, then let me down. I had hoped for a soft, warm center with a crispy top drizzled in a creamy glaze. Instead, the whole thing was a little too sweet/chocolate heavy, pretty mushy, and without any crispy texture variation. While I'm happy to spend $80-85 on a meal once in a while, this just wasn't it for me. Looking back on Yelp, it seemed like this place had much more exciting and cost-congruent menus back in the day. Would gladly give this place another chance if any of those lineups ever return.

We arrived a bit on the late side since we were traveling from out of state. After reading several reviews we decided to give it a shot and I am very pleased we did. It took no time to get us seated since we were there at the end of the night. For starters my son ordered the steak, my girlfriend had th scallops special and I went with the meatloaf. We were all extremely pleased with our meal. The meals were cooked perfectly at the right temperature and oh so flavorful. My meatloaf was so delicious, tender and moist. The mashed potatoes were so velvety. The scallops special was delicious as well. My girlfriend enjoyed the meal. My son felt his steak was cooked really good. We really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely go back when we revisit the state.

Me and my close coworkers went there tonight for a get-together. The food was great (good appetizers, entrees and desserts). They have a big wine/beer/cocktail menu which was also great. Our waiter person Garry was fantastic!

Went here for the first time last week, and my only regret is that we haven't been sooner! What a find! The artichoke fritters were phenomenal; and since I couldn't decide, I also had a half order of the grilled Caesar salad. Yum! The pasta main course was delicious, but I was so full from the apps that I took most of it home. My husband had the swordfish which he said was, and I quote, "the best I have ever had in my entire life." And we are seafood lovers! Hannah, our server, was charming and attentive; and when we called to say that we would be a few minutes late, Gary was so enthusiastic, I instantly became twice as excited about coming to try the place out! In short, top marks for great food and great service and we can't wait to come back as soon as possible!

We liked everything about our experience at Thyme. The food, the service, and the ambiance were all pleasurable and we'll be back for more.

The place is old school diner with compact booths and huge counter. In the back they have merchandise and all the awards and recognitions framed. The menu had wide variety of breakfast items. We ordered the mickey mouse waffle, steak & egg and scrambled egg with tots. The steak was little extra cooked, but still I loved the whole dish, the egg and toast were perfect. Waffle was also cooked well. Our server was a hard worker. She was helping a bunch guests all sitting at the counter. To my surprise, they accepted all kinds of credit cards, not just cash. I liked the modern touch there :p

Eggs, potatoes, toasts, meats etc. All tasted very buttery and flavorful. Great portion. My daughter definitely loved her Mickey Mouse pancake. Looking at the staff running around was like a show to me. They all were very efficient, remembered all the requests from different tables. At the mean time, so sweet and nice to everyone. I probably loose my mind if one person asking me for water in the crazy busy diner. Not a big diner. Some booths and tables. Bar is first come first serve. American theme decoration with Elvis statue on top.

It was late and this place was open until 9 pm, so we decided to give it a shot. I was worried we would get there late and I know it is not fair to staff who want to leave. I checked the ETA and we would get there before 8 pm. I also called and was assured we would be seated and have plenty of time to order before last call. We got there at 7:55 pm. It was pretty busy for a Sunday, so I saw that as a good sign. There was a three person party ahead of us and two guys waiting for pick-up. It looked like that the hostess was very harried, so I was being patient. We waited - through her cleaning tables, seating the party ahead of us, the two guys waiting ... not once did she look our way. At no point did she even say, "hey, we are slammed - I will be right with you". The last straw for us was when she took a take-out order and again not even giving us a look of acknowledgment. When she left the station to ask about a food order, we left at 8:15 pm. This is a popular, local chain and clearly don't need our business, but we have a few 110 Grills in our area and have always wanted to try them (they are not near my home) - I am not sure now.
