We had the Peach 75, the Peach Margarita, and the Peach & Bourbon Smash drinks. The drinks only had a hint of peach flavor. The peach Ricotta Caprese was totally awesome. The ricotta cheese and peach slices were so good. It was served with toast. Wife and I had the Chicken Parm, with asparagus was very good, also. The asparagus was flavorful and crisp. Great find! Just down the street from my work and a coworker recommended and it did not disappoint. Devils on horseback were a fun appetizer. An almond stuffed inside a pepper wrapped in bacon, who doesn't love bacon! Nashville got chicken and sweet potato waffle were great, though if this was my place I would offer a jalapeño cream gravy instead of maple syrup- but I love spicy. This was the second time I've dined at Simmer and this time I was thoroughly unimpressed. Their Devils on Horseback small plate was delicious but my entree lacked any kind of flavor whatsoever. I ordered the short rib entree that came highly recommended by our server. It was beautifully plated, the short rib was tender, and the potatoes were whipped smooth. However, it was completely bland. I had a couple bites of my partner's Shrimp Fra Diavolo, which is new on the menu and also highly recommend by our server. It was a bit better than my entree, but underwhelming. The seating in this restaurant is awkward. There's not enough space between tables to comfortably get by or feel any kind of privacy for conversation. Not sure we'll be back. read more

Nice vibe. Fun, eclectic, bright space with plenty of outdoor seating. Beer selection: lots of sours/fruitiness for Summer Cocktails: Quite a lot of interesting choices. I went with Old Smoky which was kind of like an old fashioned. I was not disappointed: It had a nice smoked aroma with the sweetness and a touch of sour you'd expect from an Old Fashioned. Food: I ordered the Devils on Horseback and the Poblano Cream Chicken Linguini. Let's start with the entree: I think with the advent of so many food/travel blogs and tv shows people are looking for ways to try new/unique food locally. For this reason, I opted for the "riskiest" thing on the menu. Everything else (I would say) has kind of reached acceptance (for the most part) somewhere (maybe not here, yet). But, I felt this dish was truly unique in that it was a risky combination of an Italian linguini alfredo with a South American chimichurri chicken, and some Mexican influence (poblano) thrown in to give it that "Southwestern style". I respect when restaurants take a risk to invent something new. My take on it is that it was pretty tasty, but could have been (I think) a lot better. Essentially, the sauce (likely cream cheese based) combined with the bacon really took over the dish. There was some spiciness throughout, which was a nice little bonus.. but for the most part it was the aforementioned flavors that really dominated. It kind of left me thinking that if some of the ratios were modified a bit it could have really stood out. The picture on the website shows a much larger amount of chimichurri than what I received (some small dabs). I think if the following were increased in amount/ratio it would really help to cut the cream with some acidity and balance out the flavors nicely: The onions, the chimichurri, and the lime wedge. In my dish, they were all in pretty small amounts.. and so the cream sauce really took over. Don't get me wrong though: The execution by the kitchen was perfect. It's been a while since I've had grilled chicken that was grilled this perfectly. And, all-in-all it was a delicious dish. Actually as good as the dish was, its two strongest flavors (bacon and cream cheese), were really the stars of the other dish I ordered: Devils on Horseback. The big difference in this appetizer though was the peppadew peppers. This is the acidity that the pasta really needed. In the Devils on Horseback you get all the flavors your mouth wants, wrapped up nicely on a bed of cream cheese. This dish is really hard to beat. Service: was great. I sat at the bar and the bartender was patient and helpful. She helped me figure out what I might like, and made some great suggestions. read more

Something as simple as a chicken brie sandwich is executed so well at Simmer that it tastes like more than the sum of its parts, and makes one forget to save room for dessert. We've been back to Simmer a number of times since our first visit and only once remembered to save room for the boozy French toast. It was everything I was hoping for. I like that they don't rest on their laurels here - the menu here is always thoughtfully evolving, with a nice mix of established favorites and new items. The staff are always unfailingly professional and friendly and excited about the food. I tried the hot chicken and waffle most recently. From what I've read, Nashville hot chicken is supposed to be unspeakably hot, so I had some misgivings. Simmer's version has a very exciting degree of hot that gets your attention quick, made manageable with the glass of (free) milk that appeared on the table just in time (Thanks Kyle!). We'll be back to see what's new, and hopefully remember to save room for dessert. read more

I don't feel comfy eating in restaurants and won't for a long time. Simmer has their takeout down to a science, and they're very safe! You can order online, and do things like order sauces on the side, no onions, etc. They've thought of everything. You get there, pull into a parking spot, call the restaurant, and a nice masked server brings your order right out. Super safe, super fast and super good! Oh, and the food is amazing. When you're in your lovely 40s, you can tell if a restaurant uses crappy ingredients because your stomach will PAY. Not so with Simmer- That $17 Simmer Down Burger is worth every penny. You can even choose a gluten-free bun if you want! This is the way to do it during COVID- these wonderful people deserve to stay open and prosper because they're doing it right and doing it safely. I've been here several times - all with different sets of people. Pre-COVID was a great girls night out. The place was packed, and we split appetizers and enjoyed speciality drinks. I even ran into 3 people I knew! Next time my mom came with me. We split a fabulous burger and just happened to be there when they were passing out gift cards to celebrate their anniversary. So- great food +$$ to use later! When we wanted to take my visiting sister out to a place she'd never been, we picked here. What a great spot!! She pronounced it the best food she'd had on her whole trip! The food is delicious, varied, and made with quality and great care. Recently, I took my bf since he wanted a burger. She didn't get a single thing wrong on our 5 person order, she checked in with us at appropriate times, our glasses were NEVER empty. The food presentation was phenomenal! Simmer is a wonderful edition to the neighborhood! The interior design is lovely (you would never guess this place used to be a TCBY!) and the service is top notch. Simmer offers brunch, lunch and dinner. They were also advertising half off bottles of wine on Monday and Tuesday evenings, so obviously I'll have to come back! This morning, I went in for brunch and overall it was delightful. I am giving four stars instead of five because I opted for fruit instead of potatoes as my side dish and the fruit was largely brown and bad. However, everything else was great. I highly recommend starting brunch with a buttermilk pancake for the table. The pancake was the real star of the show. The watermelon mimosa was also a great treat. For my main dish, I had the Caprese Benedict - pretty unique concept and very enjoyable! Other fun fact - the bathrooms are very well maintained/super clean with touchless door handles. Simmer has been on my radar for over a year. My husband took us out to celebrate our anniversary and Simmer did not disappoint. We had apps that were so good, I decided to order the filet entree. And while the mashed potatoes were not up to snuff, Kyle took great care of me. I enjoyed every bit of the crispy Brussels sprouts dish he substituted. The kiddo got the jerk chicken and Kyle let us sample the sauce ahead of time, so we knew it was on point. Husband enjoyed the Amatriciana. Dessert was so delicious the kiddo wouldn't share. We went to Simmer again last night. Shared the Asian Cauliflower hot 'wings' (good flavors but not very crispy), Jerk Chicken Breast (incredibly moist grilled chicken with the most fabulous jerk sauce. To die for) with roasted sweet potatoes, asparagus and a grilled pineapple ring (all cooked to perfection). We shared a slice of Key Lime Pie (lovely graham cracker crust with smooth, zesty cream filling). The service from Kyle was as once again a highlight! I wanted to give this place a three star review by the things they are doing right out weighed the wrongs. First I found this place using yelp, under new places, and the reviews looked good so we thought we'd give it a try. We were a little concerned at first about this place being in a strip mall setting, Right next to a subway. Not to be derailed by appearances and plus it was date night so we proceeded inward. We were sat right away, even though the place was crowded. I highly recommend making reservations. We sat down and ordered a few cocktails and appetizers, apparently we got a side of bottom for free! See the attached photo. The tables were so close together that when the waiter came to the table next to ours his butt was right next to our drinks and food. We talked to the manager about this and he said he would try some different configurations. Let's get to the food. First we started off with the watermelon and shrimp skewers along with the filet tips. Both were different, the dry seasoning on the shrimp was amazing. The sauce on the filet tips stole the show on that dish. For dinner we ordered the swordfish and the salmon. After a while the manager walks up and says they ran out of salmon. At 7:15 they ran out, at first I was bummed because it sounded really good. But then figured I'd try something else. The manager brings me a menu and says he'll be back to figure out what I wanted instead. Fifteen minutes pass and the manager never shows back up, but low and behold I got the last salmon. After tasting it, I kinda wish they had really ran out, it was over cooked and very tough and dry, the accompanying sides were delicious. The swordfish was also overcooked and dry but had amazing flavor, the sides were also above adequate. By the time we were done eating we were ready to leave it was extremely hot in the restaurant but overall I was glad we tried something different. They have good flavor and a pretty awesome vision on food, I just think we caught them on a off night and I'm curious to know if the manager stayed true to word. read more

We initially gave this place 4 stars... But the last time we came, we set a reservation but when we arrived they didn't have a table for us. So we sat at the bar to have a drink while we waited and decided to eat at the bar instead since our table was taking so long. We were both served initially but when I asked for a 2nd drink I was told they could no longer serve me. When I asked why they just said they couldn't serve me anymore and wouldn't give me a reason why after 1 drink I couldn't get another beverage. We cancelled our dinner order and left. I'm new to Yelp and I honestly started an account so I could say how great my experience was today. I have been to Simmer before and wanted my mom to try is so we came in for lunch. Anastasia was our server and she was just delightful. Friendly and helpful. As wonderful as she was, I have to say the food was the real star of the show. We started with the Patatas Bravas (a dish I order whenever I see it on a menu) and they were absolutely delicious. Crispy, slightly spicy, mmmm. Mom ordered the burger from the seasonal peach menu and I had the Jalapeno Bacon Burger. Holy $#!t This is now my favorite burger in Fort Collins. The patty itself was juicy and cooked a perfect medium. The bacon was not the usual baked in a batch and left to die variety but rather crisp and chewy. The spice level was spot on, the cilantro chimichurri was bright and herbaceous. Just a truly outstanding burger. I can't wait to come back and try the Poblano Cream Pasta. Actually, it was great to see Simmer located in more like family friendly area of the town as it s unique that way. My thumb up went to the great ambience and attentive service. I was really impressed with these two factors. Our server was really nice and friendly and was willing to answer any questions we had. We were quite indecisive what to order :) The decoration inside was so great and had a good mixture of seatings (booth/bar/ patio). The food we ordered wasn't providing the greatest combination as pretty much all were fried and not sure if too much fried stuff so I felt it was a little too greasy on some ...like the Shishitos and Cayenne peppers. The house chips were great. There is no Happy Hour deal for food (just for drinks) however the food items with regular price are listed on the Happy Hour menu so we thought it was quite misleading. We compared the price between the regular menu and Happy Hour menu so we found out. The drinks were yummy! This place's really fun and no doubt will be a good choice for gathering. read more
