    Bacon Grilled Cheese

Celebrated our first anniversary there in a cozy outdoor seating. Ordered their fish and chips and my husband took one of their sandwiches. Although my fish had that distinct fish smell which I hate, I think people who genuinely like fish might not have an issue. Their bacon wrapped dates and crab rangoons were delicious! The server was an angel!

I mostly love this place because it has so many vegetarian options with great flavor. My favorite appetizer is the cauliflower wings. They also have vegetarian sandwiches and it's easy to make their Brie and apple sandwich vegetarian! It's hard to find good veggie sandwiches but Simmer is good at that. The service is always good with nice folks and the ambiance is great for most kinds of meals.

I stopped by this place the first time right after they had opened years ago for brunch. The food was good, the drinks were good, the prices were insanely high. I was looking for a lunch spot in the area recently and Simmer popped up with the mention of their new lunch specials for a screaming deal! I was in! Located on the corner of a strip mall, Simmer is surprisingly classy and cozy inside. There's a heated enclosed front porch area, but we opted to sit inside the main restaurant. Our server was over to help us immediately and gave some great recommendations. I went for the walnut butternut squash ravioli and a side of the seasonal vegetable - roasted asparagus. The portion size was smaller than the dinner size, but still very generous! The flavors were on point with a hint of sweetness from the butternut and the drizzle of balsamic glaze, and the walnuts added a nice crunch to the tender pasta. The asparagus was roasted to perfection - tender while still being crisp, and wonderfully seasoned without being too salty. We ended the meal with a shared piece of key lime pie and relaxed into our gluttony before finally braving the winds to head out the door. While I think I'll probably stay away for the dinner menu, except perhaps on extremely special occasions, I'll absolutely be back for this incredible lunch special!

I like Simmer but I find it to be inconsistent and with the prices of food there, it should always be a good experience.

I gave a 20% tip, but they took $20 from my card. It's not worth the hassle to argue with them. Service was OK, but not worth that tip.

The bar almost resembles something you might find in a small European hotel, which may suggest they are aiming for a slightly upscale tone, though it never feels pretentious. The seating is varied, with small tables and retro chairs that seem intentionally chosen rather than bought in bulk. The spacing is better than most coffee shops, which makes it easy to settle in without feeling crowded. The back area opens up even more, and the soft drapery adds a touch of personality that appears to hint at events or just a bit of flair. The staff continues to be the standout for me. Everyone I spoke with was kind in a way that felt natural, and they knew the menu well enough to help me navigate dairy free options. I usually order the avocado toast on focaccia because it is consistently fresh. The bread looks oversized at first but is airy and soft, and the avocado and radish topping feels simple in the best way. The matcha made with water has also become a go to since it tastes smooth and well-bodied without that chalky, thin finish some places have. My partner and I visited during their Dia de Los Muertos weekend and tried a few themed items. Everything was good, and they were quick to suggest dairy free choices. Prices seem fair, even with the general bump everywhere lately. The only thing I wish they had more of is outlets. It is still a nice place to work for a couple of hours, but coming with a charged laptop helps. The overall vibe is calm with just enough energy to keep the space from feeling sleepy. It works well for coffee dates, casual catch ups, or solo work, especially for anyone who prefers a relaxed atmosphere without too much chaos.

It was perfectly salted and the bed of argula it was on had this delicious pesto drizzle omg. And don't even get me started on the tomatoes!!! Then we split the Bolognese and the vodka ravioli. The server came around and gave us freshly grated parm and freshly cracked pepper omfggggg!!!! The bolognese was good but the ravioli blew it out of the water it was sooo cheesy and the vodka sauce was unreal. The tiramisu was delicious. Starting off with the good - the service was good. The manager had a lot of positive personality. In general, the service staff is trying their best and there's no negative attitude. Great ! The ambiance was nice. Business appropriate , date appropriate. Nice night out level. However, the food. The most important part of dinner. Sadly, it was a bit disappointing. - meatballs: tasted processed. Not made from scratch. It may be the blend or the seasoning or both, but this was not something worth ordering at all. 3 small meatballs. A bit on the dry side. - the mushroom appetizer. Hardly any mushrooms on the middle of the fried outside. Really it was a shell of fried outside breading and very little of what resembled the taste or texture of mushrooms. Pass on this. -fungi pasta - this wasn't bad, but not a standout. 3 stars. Probably the best thing I ordered. - short beef ravioli - I'm not trying to be critical or harsh but this tasted like something I can buy as a microwaveable meal at Trader Joe's. Huge disappointment. If I needed a nice place to discuss business , I may go in to get drinks and light food. But if you're a foodie , or remotely emphasize food as an important part of a meal, I would probably pass, at least for now.
