Since we had to fly into…read moreDenver before driving to Fort Collins, my two coworkers and I wanted to find a good dinner spot before getting on the road, and the reviews led us here. This was a find worth making! We arrived without reservations, so I appreciated that they were able to accommodate all three of us. Once seated, we waited about five minutes for our server to greet us. The restaurant was filling up, so that felt reasonable. There was some background noise, but we could comfortably hear each other and enjoy our conversation without raising our voices. Definitely a plus when you're catching up over dinner. Now, let's talk about that short rib grilled cheese. Divine. This is the kind of sandwich that makes you happy you didn't order something else. And the fries served alongside it? Chef's kiss! They deserved their own moment. One of my coworkers ordered a short rib dish as well and thoroughly enjoyed it. She was the first one with a clean plate and made sure we knew how good it was. I think that speaks for itself! One small tip: if you're particular about the type of glass your cocktail comes in, ask before ordering. One person in our party wasn't a fan of the glass hers arrived in. Simply a personal preference, but worth asking about if that matters to you. The experience gave me the farm-to-table feel I enjoy, and Door 222 turned out to be a lovely stop before our drive to Fort Collins. Would I return? Heck yes. That short rib grilled cheese alone has earned a repeat visit when I'm back in the area!

Our server was friendly and attentive. For food, we got a variety of appetizers and entrees (photos attached). Everyone enjoyed their food for the most part, however some plates were much cooler than others. I understand the logistical difficulty of preparing 7 entrees simultaneously so they come out at the same time; but my short rib meal was lukewarm at best. Flavor-wise however, no complaints. The menu is pretty diverse, with options for every palate. Good for groups and families. Parking is street only and first come, first serve. Not a bad spot - I'd recommend them if someone was in the area and looking for a good meal.

Strangely, the officiant's vows were (mostly) heard. After the ceremony the staff brusquely asked the Bride and Groom to move from the sidewalk/pathway so they could collect the chairs from the wedding alcove. It was very rude IMO. Hope the newlyweds were refunded money for the Major Malfunctions that occurred. I think the staff was rude and unprofessional. NOT IMPRESSED.

The first thing is that the place was about 2/3 full and they seem pretty well staffed in the front of the house. There were 2-3 bartenders behind the bar at all times. After we ordered (2 cups of lobster bisque and bread), our server apologized and told us there was a large party in their private room and the chef was having a hard time keeping up. I can't imagine they normally only have one person preparing all of the food on a normal Saturday evening! It took no less than 45 minutes from when we ordered to get our food. Some olives or something would have been nice. My mom also had to wait 15 mins for her 2nd glass of wine. I'll tell you, we weren't going to order anything else after that! There was some really nice classical guitar music by a live musician. I tipped him on our way out. After we left, we noticed a $5 entertainment charge! Is this a norm in Colorado? I would think we would be informed upon entering if there's a cover fee or an additional charge. I would have been happy to pay it, but we should have been informed.
