Overall my favorite local course. Very well taken care of city course. Greens are usually very good. Fairways are good and bunkers are taken care of too. Plays as a 71. Highly recommend you try it. Putting green is one of the best I've seen so far in the greater LA/ ventura area. Soo well taken care of. Range is off of mats nothing spectacular but it gets you warm for the round. They have a great shop adjacent to the range ran by a dude named J. Never going back to Roger Dunn. Grips and fitting done day of or next day early. Great guy! Some days you find yourself behind a slower older group... happens. Typically on pace for 4 hours. read more

The course condition is poor and overpriced -- twilight is $48 per person. At the entrance, carts are piled up unattended, yet staff tell customers there are no carts. When they see you don't want to play anymore, suddenly a cart "appears." After paying in full, they still come over to criticize me for not having my own bag. Why does it matter to you whether I have a bag or not? Didn't I already pay? I prefer to keep my clubs with my family in one bag -- what business is that of yours? Booking fees are malicious and deceitful. Your $10 PER PERSON booking deposit does not go to your tee time. Fine, this is disclosed on their rates and fees page. BUT If you book earlier than 7 days you get hit with an additional $15 dollar fee PER PERSON. Very conveniently, left out on the rates and fee page and hidden in tiny print when checking out. Book for 4 people more than 7 days in advance, that's an additional $100 that does NOT go towards your tee time. Be warned, non simi valley residents. read more

Man the usual opener on Mondays is a real winner. This guy doesnt want to be there and the attitude is a bit much. I usually play early but after the new policys, 5+ hour rounds, and lack of hospitality I think I am parting ways. As a customer theres too many issues for a C+ golf course I will be going to Robles,TR, Rustic, or Moorpark CC. You pay a little bit more and get a better experience. read more

Starting Marshall let us know average round was 4 hours 10 minutes. Went well above that and hit about the 5 hour mark while fighting the dark at that point. Zero Marshall on course to help push groups ahead. All of this in addition to the $10 booking fee for each player that doesn't go towards green fees, which is unheard of. I'm from out of state and will not return or recommend this course to anyone I talk to. read more

This used to be one of the better operated courses in VC, now it's just awful. First of all, calling a $10 booking charge a "deposit" is just plain false advertising. It's a booking charge, even the starter said so. Next, the pro shop is just pushy, disinterested, and unprofessional. Went to check in today and had to wait because nobody was at the counter. Finally, the gem of a guy that Starter Don is. Nobody teed off for 40 minutes prior to our starting time. My group was ready 15 minutes before our scheduled time. You'd think he would at least be like hey you guys can go...nope he literally stared at his watch, counting down the minutes while saying because we only paid the twilight rate we can't go off ten minutes early. What a joke, shows no customer service skills or common sense. Awful experience and won't be returning. I wondered why the parking lot was so empty...looks like Simi valley golfers have rejected the new "updates." read more

the $10 "booking deposit" is not a deposit at all, it is a booking FEE. a deposit would be a portion of the greens fee, so if you're charging $48 for greens fees, its actually $58. plus the starters and the pro shop guys just suck now. rude, pushy, unaware of how to send groups out. read more

The starter and the people in the pro shop are awful. They tried to first off tell us that we had to arrive for our tee time 30 minutes early and told us that we had to let the person in front of us go first. Well there was no person in front of us which the guy in pro shop said "disappeared." Then as we are about to tee off the starter says we all need to own our own golf bag. Absolutely ridiculous. We left with a refund and won't ever be returning. The conditions at the course are not worth it! read more

The course itself is ok, but the management is another story. They've added a $10 non-refundable booking fee, which is clearly displayed in bold red text--fair enough. The real issue is the no-show policy: if anyone in your group doesn't show, the person who made the reservation gets hit with an extra $10 per absent player on top of $10 per player non-refundable deposit. That detail is tucked away in the fine print, which feels a little shady. And don't expect much help if you need to change your tee time. They're severely understaffed, and it's not uncommon to be stuck on hold for 15 minutes or more. Better courses in the area without the management issues. read more

I've been playing here for years and for just a few bucks more you get a much better experience then any of those nasty LA city muni courses. Course is fun, pro shop guys must absolutely hate their lives. Tim, in the pro shop, decided to scold me like a child for showing up 12 minutes early for a tee time instead of 15 minutes early, he then threatened to give the tee time away next time people on the waitlist. First off.. we didn't tee off until 5 minutes past our tee time, we were sitting there for about 10 minutes before actually starting our round. I don't know who Tim thinks he is talking to people like that but he better get his act right before he barks up the wrong tree. Dude was a complete asshole start to finish. Course is dry lots of hard pan. Main issue is Covid is over. Rake the traps. Every trap i was in had multiple shoe marks.

Tim at the pro golf shop was amazing from start to finish. He was helpful and had a smile on his face the whole time. Such a kind person. Answered all questions. Communicated everything to us so well. He even had the restaurant hold off on closing for a few so we could quickly order some sandwiches. We will definitely be back soon. read more

I haven't golfed here yet due to recent joint replacement . I did check out their driving range club house and restaurant and it's as expected for a small neighborhood course . At the front entrance is a public park and they have terrific shady walking path with slight grade (good for working the bum) and allow you to stroll through. There is a nice duck pond for catch & release fishing and there always others here getting zen with nature . Please don't feed the ducks. Day old bread is not their normal diet . There are also a small flock of geese who frequent the park and are very noisy in flight . They can also be viscious so don't get close to the geese . It's a visually safe place to walk with shade if you don't want to walk on the hot walking trail that lines this park & golf course . read more

Just went to golf here. I arrived at 420pm for my tee time at 430pm. The guy tells me I'm late and there's other golfers is another party behind me waiting. I tell him I can take a later tee time and. Let the other party go ahead of us. I thought no issues there. I take a later tee time and while waiting to tee off I see there is no one in front of us or behind us. They call our name to start golfing and I tee up. Before i start security dude comes up to us and tells us we can't golf cause we don't all have golf bags. I tell him I've golfed here a handful of times with my son and this has never been an issue. He just kept saying "that's policy". The guy from the pro shop comes out and tells us only two people can golf (we had 4 players and my daughter uses one club the whole time). You would think common sense they would tell us it's ok to golf this time and next time we come make sure everyone has a bag. No, they tell us only 2 players can golf. I go back into the pro shop to get my money back and ask the guy where's the party that we were holding up??? He tells me he has no idea and the y must have left. lol! I will never golf here again! I talked to numerous people I know who work public and private golf courses and they told me this is absolutely ridiculous!!!! read more

It only took me an hour to drive here from Huntington Beach. Granted, it was at 5:30 in the morning on a Sunday. The things you do to play golf with a buddy. Very close to the freeway but no where close enough to hear it. Easy to park. Nice location is the foothills made for an interesting terrain. Fairly flat but beautiful. Sand and water on a few holes but wide open fairways. Decent turf and excellent greens. Par 71 and challenging from 5 different tee positions. Friendly staff and $60 per person with a cart on a Sunday. read more

When trying to find things to do in the summer heat during COVID, leave it to the good ole driving range to do the trick! We came here with my nephews about 1 hour before closing but they were more than helpful in getting us enough balls to hit in a timely manner. It finally cooled down when the sun went down, but then came all the bugs - not a good combination when you're sweating bullets. Can't hate on nature though, all in all a terrific experience & excellent bang for your buck! read more

For a public course that gets heavy usage this is a good one. Prices are very fair and even on a Saturday at 10 AM we finished in 4 1/2 hours and we took our time. Layout is fair yet Par 3's are long! A walkable course with a bunch of blind tee shots and doglegs. Overall another gem in Simi Valley. Forget all the muni courses in LA with poor greens, poor fairways, poor-quality staff etc. Simi Hills is really well maintained and has the top staff out of any golf course I've been on. One staff member even went out of his way to get me extra pencils from the pro shop after I lost mine and couldn't write my score down. Located right off the 118 Ronald Reagan freeway and only two turns off the exit. Really easy to get to. Been playing Simi Hills Golf Course quite a bit as of late, mostly super early on Sundays. If you're not a local Simi Valley resident, the booking is a little tricky. You can't call during the wee hour's morning of a week out to book. They offer priority during those early hours for the residents of Simi Valley. For a non-resident, you are allowed to call in 8:30am and after, one week before your desired tee time/date. Also, they have a special back nine holes; early morning tee times for a decent rate. It seems to be quite popular with the locals. Having played my most recent round here this past Sunday, May 5, 2019, I've noticed a huge upgrade in the powered carts. They're brand, spanking new Yamaha golf carts. Cushions are still slick and comfortable, new GPS touch screen, and even a USB outlet to charge your electronics. It explains why my Sunday price for a non-resident, 18 holes, with cart went from $60 to $62. Of course, you have the option to walk here which would've been $45 instead of $62. Also, if you choose to ride, don't forget to return the cart key to the pro shop to get your $5 deposit back. It's extremely easy to return the cart and just walk off without returning the cart key to get your $5 back. As stated, the course is somewhat flat enough to walk. I would say, nearly half of the players walk. There are some holes where the elevation is a little dramatic, but it's not many holes. The course is quite walkable and you'll get that extra cardio in. Still, I haven't walked myself. I believe they allow fivesomes here but all five players would have to ride to keep the pace of play moving along. If you tee up early, they will remind you of this expected pace of play. I recall the pro shop guy reminding me both over the phone and in person about their expected pace of play. You can hack, but better hack at a ready and speedy rate. The course is typically in pretty good condition like most of the other golf courses in the Simi Valley. This course is a probably easiest in comparison to the likes of Rustic Canyon, Tierra Rejada, Moorpark, etc. Maybe even cheapest too. The grass is nicely manicured and the greens are smooth and sometimes slightly fast. Players here tend to do a decent job at fixing their divots on the greens and we hope you guys will do the same. There are some tricky holes but overall, the course is good for scratch to amateurs at all levels. Cart ladies typically start later in the morning. I always seem to catch them a couple of holes near the end when I tee off so early. Plenty of parking, a driving range, small putting and chipping areas to practice available. P.S. If you're a long ball hitter, the driver off tee box #1 may not be your best option. Watch out for the guys fishing in the pond straight ahead! read more

GIFT CARDS are available from their online store in increments of $25. These can be used on course fees and merchandise. I had a couple questions regarding turnaround time, so sent an email prior to purchasing. The tournament director JACKIE responded within minutes with a courteous message! THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! We went to Simi Hills Golf Course for the first time with our neighbors which took place on May 30,2023. As we were playing we notice a group of 6 ahead of us which were very loud and drinking and just peeing everywhere, not even hiding behind the bushes literlly just peeing out in the open this was by far very disrespectfull. I then called Marshall came out but ONLY gave them a warning but it just seemed as if Marshall didn't want to confront them. on hole 10 one of the players ahead of us starting cuzing at us and I return a word back. What I should have done was call the cops to have a report on. Now hole 11 the player started fighting with one of there own players and you can tell and see how he's alcohol level was extremely high. But once again Marshal was scared to confront that group. Now with that being said a game that should have taken us about 3 hours or so too us at least 6 hours. On our way out I stop at the from desk and spoke to clerk and expressed my dissatisfaction and all he can say was "I'm sorry" and handed me a business card to follow up supervisor Brian. I then called and left a message and also sent an emailed Brian with video of fight and there behavior and never received a call back or replied via email. I then called again on 6/6/2023 and was able to speak to Brian and once again all you hear was "I'm sorry" and he then said he forwarded email to GM and that he has been very busy with championship going on at the moment. Well as of today 10/1/2023 he must still be very busy because I haven't heard anything from no one and that's very disappointing. I mean you pay a lot of money $119 (for 2) to play and just to see a circus going on the field with a scary Marshal not doing a dam thing. Would be nice for the main person or owner to see this and it would be nice if they were on top of there email complaints, or at least hire people to do there job correct or give them better training to avoid this type of situations. I liked the course, I guess because I shot a pretty decent score here my first time I played here last weekend. Even with the green aerated (weekend of March 30th), I was still able to shoot a good score. The greens should be ready in a few more weeks. We had an early morning tee time (7am) and the course played very well without a lot of people playing that early. We finished our round of 18 in about 4 hours. The clubhouse is small but nice. The pro shop has a lot of equipment and the mini-restaurant offers snacks, drinks, breakfast, lunch, dinner. I loved Simi Hills even more because the electric carts were super new and FAST. The course is simple, not too hard and big fairways. You're always able to hit your driver on every par 4 without the fear of hitting it OB or out. There are some nicely placed bunkers and minimal water. The course is also cheaper than the other courses you'd find in Simi Valley. Very easy to get to from the 118 freeway too. read more

Way overpriced! This golf course charges double what other courses in the area charge that don't rake the sand traps and/or have poor course maintenance and no marshall to keep the slugs moving. Golf here somewhat regularly and yesterday (2/21/2021) was about the worst experience I have ever had there. The Manager (Seth I believe is his name) probably gave me my worst experience at this golf course to date -- which sucks because this course has always been a joy. I showed up to my tee time about 45 minutes early and checked in. Unfortunately my group was running late. Seth continued to harass me by calling my name over the loud speaker for the rest of my group to check in starting at 1:50 pm for a 2:20 p.m. tee time. I explained to him that they would be there before our 2:30 tee time. He continued to call my name out over the loud speaker for my group to check in even though I had already informed him of the situation. Eventually we got into a bit of a heated exchange and he finally stopped. My buddies ended up checking in and oh by the way, we were off the first tee box heading for the green on number 1 by 2:18 p.m. -- 2 minutes ahead of our scheduled tee time. Not only was Seth being rude and harassing with me, but he was also yelling in the girls face who was checking people in. It was highly unprofessional and I would never want someone like that working at my golf course. Each of my friends mentioned how much of an ass this guy was to them when they checked in as well (ahead of schedule). Management should look closely at this guy or probably risk a lawsuit at some point in the future. read more

My friend told me this place was amazing a few years ago and I finally made the trek. ABSOLUTELY stunning course. There is a mix of everything uphill, downhill tight fairways open fairways. Not too many traps and a food amount of water hazards. The views are breathtaking and the grounds are kept really well and one hole has a beautiful waterfall. The greens were pretty big and played fast. I highly recommend this gold course read more

Living 5 minutes from Simi Hills is quite convenient and yet I tend to take this course for granted. If your looking for a well-kept, fun but challenging round of golf, Simi Hills is a great option especially since the recent improvements over the past couple of years. A few years ago the park and rec took over operations of Simi Hills and since then the course is operating better than I can remember. Recent Improvements I've noticed lately: *The greens and fairways are much "greener" than they used to be. *Almost no drainage problems (big improvement on the 6th hole) *Extended tee box on the 7th hole. It also looks like they're expanding #2 and are trying to make the course a par 72 *Club repair/Re-gripping shop next to the driving range Simi Hills is still a challenging course but rewards players who hit it straight and long. There are no gimmicky holes and some of the holes (back 9 especially) make player manage their tee shots. The only cons I have with Simi Hills is that the course is always busy. Be prepared for a 5 hour round on most weekends. Also, finding deals online are non-existent. Of course why would they have to give out deals if they're always busy. I always look forward to playing Simi Hills. I'm really looking forward to playing the course when it finally becomes a par 72 although that shouldn't deter you from playing here now because the improvement in progress won't take away from your round. read more
