TASK: Remove existing backsplash and countertop and install a new backsplash and countertop…read more PROBLEM 1: NEITHER THE DEMOLITION CREW NOR THE INSTALLATION CREW WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR PREPPING THE COUNTERTOPS. Nothing was covered. All contents of the drawers were contaminated by demolition materials. In addition, during the demolition, the underlayment of the countertops was damaged. As stated in the contract, this was not to be addressed by Granite and Marble Specialists (GMS). Once the island countertop was removed, you could see that a heavy layer of glue remained on the underlay. The installers said that that was not their responsibility. They installed the countertop over the uneven underlayment of the residual glue. This meant that there were up to 1/2 inch gaps between the counter and the underlayment, stretching a span of 108.5 inches. Over time, this will lead to instability and breakage of the stone. The installers forged ahead and installed the new countertop independent of the gaps. The installers were adamant that they had installed the island countertop to level. RESULT: We had to remove the new countertop and have the surface sanded to level before having them reinstall the countertop. PROBLEM 2: NEITHER THE DEMOLITION CREW NOR THE INSTALLATION CREW WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR PREPPING THE BLACKSPLASH AFTER DEMOLITION. This meant that it was the homeowner's responsibility to install drywall and to make sure that the backsplash was level. The backsplash was 1.5 inches unlevel from one end of the backsplash to the other. Thus, in addition to the provision of drywall because the existing drywall was damaged during demolition, we had to shim the drywall to ensure the backsplash was level for the backsplash installation. RESULT: We had to go buy wood, cut it to the specific dimensions and install the new underlayment for the backsplash. IN SUM: GMS provided what the contract stated, an installed countertop and backsplash. It was not stated in the contract that it be level or that it be level to the degree that it was level prior to the new installation. The installers showed it to be level because the countertop was 108.5 inches long X 46 inches wide X 3cm deep. So, BEWARE. If this is the type of installation you are looking for, this is the organization for you.

Custom Touch Granite LLC - Quality, Integrity, and Exceptional Service…read more My wife and I recently decided to update our kitchen countertop with a beautiful natural stone, Quartzite. Before finding Custom Touch Granite LLC, we first visited ProGranite Surfaces LLC to explore our options. Initially, a helpful lady at ProGranite Surfaces described where to see the slabs and even made recommendations on which warehouse to visit. We selected three stunning quartzite slabs, and my wife returned to ProGranite Surfaces LLC with the paperwork to discuss our choice and get a quote. Unfortunately, our experience there was disappointing. The customer service representative not only overpriced the stone--quoting us an astonishing $80,000 including installation--but also treated my wife in a manner that was far from professional or courteous. He made assumptions without proper communication and did not demonstrate the level of respect we expected. While I don't blame the company as a whole, it's clear that individual actions can deeply impact a business's reputation. I hope the management pays attention to who represents their company on the front lines. Feeling discouraged, my wife turned to Google and found Custom Touch Granite LLC. She visited them in person, bringing along the same paperwork she had shown to ProGranite Surfaces LLC. The difference in service was immediately apparent. The team at Custom Touch Granite was respectful, honest, and transparent from the very beginning. They called the warehouse in front of my wife to confirm the cost of the material and provided a fair and reasonable estimate for both the stone and installation--including a free bathroom sink. Impressed by their integrity and straightforward approach, we didn't feel the need to shop around with other contractors. We trusted Custom Touch Granite at face value, and they did not disappoint us at any stage of the process. From the initial customer service to the precise measurements and expert installation, every member of their team demonstrated professionalism, skill, and a genuine commitment to quality. When a minor issue was discovered, they responded promptly and resolved it without hesitation. Their service truly went above and beyond our expectations. If you're considering updating your kitchen, fireplace, or bathroom countertops, you can't go wrong with Custom Touch Granite LLC. Their quality-minded approach, combined with integrity and full customer service, sets them apart. We wholeheartedly recommend them and believe they deserve a gold star for their outstanding work.

Great spot they helped me with a granite countertop I had already. It needed one of the rough flat…read moresides to be shaped to a bullnose and polished to match the rest of the already done countertop. Most places were really expensive! When I came here they were happy to help and did my work in a couple days and was half the price of competitors. I would recommend this place! I also reached back out to ask for advice on how to remove a couple scratches and they again were happy to help and gave me good advice I used at my house!
