My wife and were driving through Aspen for our first time and we were starving. We realized quite quickly that anywhere in this town was going to set our wallet on fire. We saw a lot of people liked 520 Grill, so we tried it. The bison burger was huge and really juicy. It came with awesome sweet potato fries. They also asked me how I wanted it cooked. Really?! No one does that at a burger joint. My wife got the kale salad. I wanted a little more dressing, but she loved it. This a great place to grab a beer or wine and won't break the bank. read more

Food was excellent but a little on the slow side for no one eating when we arrived. After the food was cooked they put it on the glass case but did not bother to tell us it was done so there is no telling how long it said there. Also there is a weed dispensary next door you can visit after or before eating. They are both downstairs from the street. read more

I've had bison burgers (and even moose burgers) before but I like good old American chuck in my burger. The burger was big and juicy, cooked perfectly to my medium rare specification. The bun was also great, not your ordinary hamburger bun, but more of a white round soft but sturdy bun. Fixings were great, hand cut fries were great, service was friendly. Not a solid complaint. Can't beat the price for Aspen to get this mouthful of flavor. read more

Completely overrated. Overpriced, even for Aspen, for what you get. The food is mediocre at best. The salad greens were fresh, but the wahoo was completely overcooked and tough, yet not held to temp. The steak tacos didn't have any toppings. The bison burger tasted like a frozen beef patty. The steak quesadilla was okay - but presentation was horrible. The silverware was in dirty baskets to just reach in and grab. The tea dispenser was filthy. The smell of weed from the cannabis shop next door permeated the space. Potheads must have provided all the great reviews...or the cashier. He was high too. No joke. read more

This hot spot right on Cooper in downtown Aspen has the best turkey burger in town. Always done to perfection and served with the fixings makes my day every time I order. We had a few hours to kill and wanted t0 try something other than the typical Aspen joint where the waiters act like they're doing you a huge favor by bringing you sweetener for your unsweetened iced tea (!!). I'd read a lot about their bison burger & their fish tacos, so my husband & I decided we'd each try one and let the other have the second half of each other's dish. Holy moly!!! Both were pretty on-point. The burger was one of the best I've ever had & so were the tacos. The fries were also amazing & I usually don't touch regular fries but their portions were so generous I couldn't just leave them there! My two daughters had the Kids' Mac & cheese and they both loved it. To further add to our experience, as we were walking to our car & passing the Info. Center, I overheard the lady working there telling a visitor "and for the best burger in town, head to 520 Grill". Well of course I had to chime in and tell her that we'd just had it and it was out-of-this-world. They're much more than a burger joint however. It was obvious everything on their menu was tasty, fresh and delicious. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Aspen!! read more

Excellent grub! Our six year old son said, "This is the best hot dog I've had in my whole life." The bison burger was juicy in spite of the leanness of the meat. The BLT came loaded with bacon. It's chipotle mayo added a surprisingly nice touch of flavor. The kale and quinoa salad was very fresh and tasty without being overloaded with dressing. When you go downstairs and see lines, you know that you have found a locals favorite. Bacon infused burgers are to die for. Upgrade to bison meat if you desire a leaner meat. The fish tacos are exceptional, and never fails to please. I can't go into town without eating the kale and quinoa salad at least once every time I'm visiting. Casual unpretentious spot to grab a meal. You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called, we waited close to 20 minutes for our meal, seemed a little long but we weren't in a rush. I had the quinoa kale salad with chicken, salad alone was $10 +$4 for the chicken. The chicken was a very small amount, chopped up into tiny pieces, I expected a little bit more. I've been in town several times over the last year or so for work. The overpriced food around Aspen hides this gem! Really a phenomenal Burger. I can't say that strongly enough.
