Poor customer service. Come here every summer for the prices. My boyfriend bought two pairs of sunglasses, both broke after a day. The first was hanging on a hook and when he picked them up, the upper rim had cracked causing the left lens to fall out. The same thing happened to the second pair a day later when they were simply lying on the table. By the way, the sunglasses had doubled in price since last summer.
We went back today and the first sales associate allowed told us to grab a second pair, no questions asked. When we returned to check out, an older gentleman was behind the register. He was irritated by the situation but allowed the trade.
I then grabbed a Chapstick from my side of the register (out of his line of view) to make somewhat of a peace keeping purchase. He had trouble finding the bright orange price sticker on the Chapstick, so I looked over and announced 2.79 was the price on the other chapsticks. An awkward silence followed as he rung me up during which I joke "man, I could have told you any number!" Obviously joking.. He proceeded by lecturing me about the moral concept of stealing. "Well that would be stealing, and stealing is bad. You may as well take it off the shelf. That would be stealing too."
I was so shocked by his remarks I agreed and left quietly.
Needless to say, our summer tradition of shopping at silver sun is now over. read more
