When fall rolls around and you're sitting outside in the crisp air with the sun going down, is…read morethere anything better than wearing shorts and an incredibly comfortable long sleeve tee that is just a smidge too large? No, there is not. And where do you go to get said shirts on LBI? There's only one place - Island Sun. It's not fancy, the racks are packed, and when it's crowded it can get a bit tight. You've got a 50/50 shot of the people working there glancing in your direction when you walk in, but that doesn't matter. This is a self-guided shopping trip. Embrace this cotton-laden paradise and grab some comfort. The shirts I got over a year are still going strong - and this year I got two more long sleeves, plus a zip up, a hat, and a few other small things. All for $45. Tip: Try things on. Just put them on right there. While the shirts may look similar, there are a variety of brands tucked in there, and they all run differently. Wear the shirts everywhere - you will be comfortable, and when people ask what and/or where LBI is, you can proudly tell them it's the best damn island in New Jersey.

The older associate then commented loudly that my daughter had no meat on her bones. It is totally unacceptable to comment on another person's body, or what they are wearing. Nobody asked for her opinion. It was not at all appreciated, it was offensive. Extremely unprofessional. We were all so uncomfortable that we left immediately. Body shaming is never acceptable! I went in this store with my two daughters yesterday (ages 13 and 5). The (presumably) owner (a…read moremiddle aged lady) was very aggressive from the moment we entered but I just assumed it was her sales persona and she proceeded to follow us around as if we have an alternative agenda in her store. My daughters and I went upstairs and took a peek around and realizing the third floor was merely a massive assortment of CROCS went down to the bottom level. At this point the owner was talking to another customer, spotted us and told my oldest daughter to "please give me the doll you took". Um what?!? My oldest daughter didn't even look at dolls in her store let alone take one. The owner soon realized another girl in the store was playing with one of the dolls. For whatever reason it appeared the owner was assuming we entered her store to shop lift. My 13 year old was horribly embarrassed by the owners accusation and i was simply angered by the whole encounter in general. What a terrible way to run your store. Not to mention it was an unorganized disaster. We left without spending a penny and had our "Pretty Woman" moment going on to spend our money in other, far more welcoming stores in Schooners Warf.
