I live in a senior community in the Toms River area and have been riding down here for the last 10 years. Within a few weeks I got a flat back tire and have to return the Shore Brake Cyclery to have it repaired by Charlie. He made sure that there was nothing wrong with the tire and replaced the tube with a FREE new one. Then last week while riding on the roads around my community I picked up a small staple in the back tire. So once again down the GSP to LBI to get the tire repaired. This time Catherine took the back wheel off my bike's car carrier and proceeded to repair the tire for a second time. Once again NO charge. This bike shop is a family run business where the employees are all very helpful and friendly. If you need any biking stuff or a new bike or repair to an older bike, come down to LBI to Shore Brake Cyclery. Dick Black

Unfortunately, the only thing I don't like about this antique shop is the hours. I just am annoyed that they are only open on Sunday.. I wish they were open Saturday and Sunday. The entire experience from start to finish was awesome! We decided to visit the surf shop before our lessons. They were on point with their COVID rules. Masks required, limiting the number of customers, hand sanitizer upon entering, and social distancing inside the store. They had a great selection of boards, bathing suits, SPF products, PuraVida bracelets, and more. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The owners Mike and Susan were super nice and we enjoyed talking to them. Our surf lessons were great! The instructors were awesome! Encouraging, fun, knowledgeable, and patient. I was nervous going into our lesson, but our instructor Jack had me popping up on that board in no time! We had a BLAST! My daughter went a few days later for another lesson. The waves were bigger and more intimidating and she was ready to quit. After a pep talk from myself, Susan, and her instructor Mike Doherty, she went back out. And she did it! She stayed closer to shore where she was more comfortable and her instructor Mike was SO PATIENT with her. He kept reassuring her that she was doing great and that he would be there with her for each wave. I can't thank them enough for making our first time (and Lulu's second time) an awesome and fun experience! If we ever make it back to Brigantine, we will be sure to visit Primal Surf again!
