I visited going to pickup an affordable trike off season. The staff was very helpful explaining about the sizes available and helping me choose the best for me. Years ago I had gotten a new bike a week earlier and when we got to the Jersey shore for the week had front brake issues with the disk brake not releasing. I remember passing the store on the ride and walked back. They fixed it quickly at no charge. That year and for the 5 years since I make it a point to stop by and buy something. This shop was very helpful. I cqme to LBI for a week in late June, leaving my spare tubes at home, and with a hand pump that was acting up. When I got a front flat, I figured I was in big trouble because my aero rims require tubes with an 80mm Presta valve stem. I figured that my riding was probably over for the rest of the week, but Shore Bike bailed me out with the exact tubes I needed and with a nice hand pump! Came here on a whim to see if they had a replacement tire frame and rubber for my bike. I was rear ended on the way down to LBI from PA. My frame was completely jacked, which bummed me out because I wanted to ride my bike while I was visiting. The guys that work here were so nice. They were scrapping some bikes in the back and offered me a tire off one of those bikes. I was absolutely in awe by their kindness and generosity. I purchased a new Red Trek Verve 2 Disc Low Step about one month ago after checking out all available Step-Thru Bikes. I live in a senior community in the Toms River area and have been riding down here for the last 10 years. Within a few weeks I got a flat back tire and have to return the Shore Brake Cyclery to have it repaired by Charlie. He made sure that there was nothing wrong with the tire and replaced the tube with a FREE new one. Then last week while riding on the roads around my community I picked up a small staple in the back tire. So once again down the GSP to LBI to get the tire repaired. This time Catherine took the back wheel off my bike's car carrier and proceeded to repair the tire for a second time. Once again NO charge. This bike shop is a family run business where the employees are all very helpful and friendly. I am so please d that my husband and I found the perfect bike shop and now our only bike shop. Charlie and his staff have patiently taken their time over the past year and a half to answer my questions and meet my needs from finding the perfect bike shoes, cleats and pedals for my indoor bike to helping us select our new bikes which we just picked up last Sunday. I had been riding a bike that was definitely too short for me. The staff took the time to evaluate the correct frame size for me and adjust the seat accordingly. I absolutely love my new Trek bike. Needed my rear brake handle replaced and gears put back on track after an accident involving my bike. The guys were able to squeeze me in right away since I was only here for a few more days; although the wait would have normally been almost a week because they have a store full of customers' bikes with a list of repairs! They took it right in the back and fixed it within 10-15 minutes for 20 something dollars and I was back on my way! Top notch service and great people. Decided to finally upgrade my 20 year old beach cruiser for a real bike during the 2nd week of "social distancing" on LBI. Charlie at Shore Brake couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. I spoke with him on the phone about the type of bike I was looking for before heading over to the shop and upon arriving, he had a bike all set up for a demo ride. I recently purchased several upgrades for my bike. Charlie went above and beyond to educate me about options available and the pros and cons of those options.
