New menu

July 2026, new owner, transition period. Food still good as of now. Here for dinner. All our dishes are good and some new off menu stuff is also available; helps if you can speak Cantonese. New flooring adds brightness. Will have to try dim sum next time and see how it holds up.

I never noticed this place, as it is in the Aspen Hill Shopping Center with a number of other stores. After eating lunch there a few times with seniors (usually the lunch special), and noticing that many Chinese eat there, I decided to come back and try the Dim Sum, as I had not had it a long time. Overall, the Mrs. and I found it pretty good. We tried the: Roast Pork Buns (baked), Shu Mai, Taro Dumpling, Chive Dumplings and one or two others. The items were well cooked, hot and overall tasty. We did not get the rolling cart experience, as you we usually had in Chinatown in NYC, but they told me that they only bring Dim Sum around on the cart on Saturday from 12noon to apx 2:30pm.

Came here on a Tuesday for dim sum. We ordered: Steamed shrimp dumpling - was ok Shui Mai (shrimp & pork) - not seasoned well, kinda bland Shrimp rice noodle crepe - disappointed, lacked flavor. The sweet soy sauce usually helps the dish but it didn't taste like much Steamed roast pork bun - I didn't like the texture of the bun Phoenix feet in black bean sauce - my least favorite dish. Very dry, lacked cohesion, poorly distributed sauce Fried shrimp taro cake - my favorite plate we ordered. Came out hot and fresh from the fryer Radish cakes - decent, would like more meat but overall it was ok Would be nice to retry this place on a weekend to see if the quality is different

Still a top place for dim sum/cantonese food. Unfortunately I last went here for a meal after my grandmother's funeral. It was heartbreaking given all the wonderful meals we've shared together as a family. Service was nice and we did a lot of noodle based dishes (highly recommend). The restaurant fits quite a lot of customers so plenty of seating. We booked I believe 5 large round tables in the back of the restaurant (there are no private rooms).

I was pleasantly surprised when I swung by for lunch last week and found that the restaurant has undergone a new renovation, with new flooring, beautiful table clothes, and bright nice lighting. The dim sum was so much better than before and they have increased the numbers of waitress working there too. The service was very good. The two new owners are very attentive and kind and kept checking our tea and water too. All the dim sum we ordered were hot and delicious. We also ordered a crispy pan fried noodles with pork and the portion was hugh, and price is very cheap and reasonable. They have new chefs in the kitchen too. I highly recommend to give it a try!

I'm going to be brutally honest. Their dim sum is average at best. Their chicken feet, shrimp dumpling, shu mai, and tripes all felt mehhh. They're filling and inexpensive though. Their beef chow foon was good. If the dish was slightly drier, the noodles would've been even better. Finally, their spare ribs on top of rolled rice noodles were amazing. This dish is $15 and you get so much food! I will go back only for this dish!

Worth the lunch deal! It includes the entree, soup, and mini cookie dessert. I've lived in the area for years and never stopped by. Came by here on a whim and the lunch was very filling and super nice staff. Lunch was not busy but I know this place gets crowded on weekends and nights. I wish the dish had a little more spice but I've only tried one entree so no comparison yet. I would visit again!

11.11.23 I met up with a friend at 11:30 for dim sum. When we came there were a lot of vacant tables, but 30 minutes to an hour later it was packed so I am glad we came early. It's your traditional set up where they push carts around and punch a card based on the price of the item. Their selection didn't seem as extensive as other restaurants. It seemed like they were pushing out the same items. Also a few of the items such as the Fried Shrimp Taro Cake wasn't as good as other places I've had it at. Service was terrible! IMO, they are understaffed and could use a few additional staff. We had to flag down someone twice to request something. One was to request utensils and the second time was to place a carryout order. It took a while before the carryout order was ready so my friend had to check on the status and was told there was a delay as they ran out of the egg tart and were making it. My friend said it would have been courteous if they let us know. Also, I asked for the almond jelly to go and it is not what I was expecting. They did not put any cocktail fruit on it so I figured it was tofu. My friend ended up taking it home and confirmed it was almond jelly. She said it was good, but would have been better with cocktail fruit. I could have used a refill on my water, but given how hard it was to find anyone, I didn't bother. It wasn't the best dim sum I've ever had and the service was unsatisfactory, therefore, I am unlikely to return.

Oh silver fountain. It's not a trip home to the DMV without silver fountain. Will they yell at you and seem annoyed you're in the restaurant? Yah. Will the food be reliably decent? Yah. It's all part of the experience.

This is primarily due to the owner / chef retiring. This restaurant is a wonderful place for dim sum on weekends. However, they do serve dim sum (without the carts) everyday so if you want your dim sum fix on during the weekday, this place is the way to go. Their shrimp and pork dumplings are delicious. Their shrimp crepe, chicken feet, fried taro dumpling, rice wrapped w/ leaves are also really good. Be sure to ask for hot oil on the side so you can spice out your dishes if you want. It's sad to see this restaurant go. They are really a wonderful local business that has been around for over 10 years. The staff here are always friendly and their dishes never disappoint. If you are in the area before they close on 1/1/25, be sure to support your local Gourmet Inspiration. Great family owned restaurant that never disappoints. The beef chow fun had the aroma of wok hei, but unfortunately lacked flavor and was the only disappointing dish of the night. They were also out of roast pig. It just so happened to be the rainiest July day since 1970 in DC and 5th rainiest day ever in July, 6th after 2022 day had more. I lived a very close walk to this center, and I trudged out in the heavy rain with my biggest umbrella & rain slicker to meet up with my date. Service was prompt and cordial. Wow, this was one of the best Chinese I've had! As for the date, it was great. She was from one of the dating websites. We went on a 2nd date the very next day, but she ghosted me. Then, I came across her again online about 9 months later, and we went out on another date in May 2019. I asked her what happened, and she explained whatever excuse with personal stuff going on or whatever. All 3 of the dates were good, but she had her issues. In summary, in spite of my kind of weird date & such a rainy day going here, I'll need to take my girlfriend here to enjoy the outstanding food if we're ever in Wheaton hopefully under sunnier skies.

They offer Option A for $38 and Option B for $48 with Option B including additional dishes like General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, and more. Our table was filled with fried and steamed dumplings, bao buns, General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, vegetable fried rice, and several soups. The beef brisket soup was one of my favorites and the fish dish we tried was also really good. Everything came with flavorful sauces that made each dish even better. The cocktails were also a highlight. I had a refreshing lychee cocktail (I unfortunately don't remember the name) and it had the perfect balance, not watered down and actually had a good kick! They also offer a bottomless all-you-can-drink option for $18, which is a great add-on if you plan to stay and enjoy the experience. The service was great, the team came back around often to check on you and provide refills and take your next round of orders for the all-you-can-eat.
