Crispy pan fried noodles with pork
    Lily C.

I was pleasantly surprised when I swung by for lunch last week and found that the restaurant has undergone a new renovation, with new flooring, beautiful table clothes, and bright nice lighting. The dim sum was so much better than before and they have increased the numbers of waitress working there too. The service was very good. The two new owners are very attentive and kind and kept checking our tea and water too. All the dim sum we ordered were hot and delicious. We also ordered a crispy pan fried noodles with pork and the portion was hugh, and price is very cheap and reasonable. They have new chefs in the kitchen too. I highly recommend to give it a try!

Came here on a Tuesday for dim sum. We ordered: Steamed shrimp dumpling - was ok Shui Mai (shrimp & pork) - not seasoned well, kinda bland Shrimp rice noodle crepe - disappointed, lacked flavor. The sweet soy sauce usually helps the dish but it didn't taste like much Steamed roast pork bun - I didn't like the texture of the bun Phoenix feet in black bean sauce - my least favorite dish. Very dry, lacked cohesion, poorly distributed sauce Fried shrimp taro cake - my favorite plate we ordered. Came out hot and fresh from the fryer Radish cakes - decent, would like more meat but overall it was ok Would be nice to retry this place on a weekend to see if the quality is different

Still a top place for dim sum/cantonese food. Unfortunately I last went here for a meal after my grandmother's funeral. It was heartbreaking given all the wonderful meals we've shared together as a family. Service was nice and we did a lot of noodle based dishes (highly recommend). The restaurant fits quite a lot of customers so plenty of seating. We booked I believe 5 large round tables in the back of the restaurant (there are no private rooms).

I'm going to be brutally honest. Their dim sum is average at best. Their chicken feet, shrimp dumpling, shu mai, and tripes all felt mehhh. They're filling and inexpensive though. Their beef chow foon was good. If the dish was slightly drier, the noodles would've been even better. Finally, their spare ribs on top of rolled rice noodles were amazing. This dish is $15 and you get so much food! I will go back only for this dish!

Worth the lunch deal! It includes the entree, soup, and mini cookie dessert. I've lived in the area for years and never stopped by. Came by here on a whim and the lunch was very filling and super nice staff. Lunch was not busy but I know this place gets crowded on weekends and nights. I wish the dish had a little more spice but I've only tried one entree so no comparison yet. I would visit again!

11.11.23 I met up with a friend at 11:30 for dim sum. When we came there were a lot of vacant tables, but 30 minutes to an hour later it was packed so I am glad we came early. It's your traditional set up where they push carts around and punch a card based on the price of the item. Their selection didn't seem as extensive as other restaurants. It seemed like they were pushing out the same items. Also a few of the items such as the Fried Shrimp Taro Cake wasn't as good as other places I've had it at. Service was terrible! IMO, they are understaffed and could use a few additional staff. We had to flag down someone twice to request something. One was to request utensils and the second time was to place a carryout order. It took a while before the carryout order was ready so my friend had to check on the status and was told there was a delay as they ran out of the egg tart and were making it. My friend said it would have been courteous if they let us know. Also, I asked for the almond jelly to go and it is not what I was expecting. They did not put any cocktail fruit on it so I figured it was tofu. My friend ended up taking it home and confirmed it was almond jelly. She said it was good, but would have been better with cocktail fruit. I could have used a refill on my water, but given how hard it was to find anyone, I didn't bother. It wasn't the best dim sum I've ever had and the service was unsatisfactory, therefore, I am unlikely to return.

Oh silver fountain. It's not a trip home to the DMV without silver fountain. Will they yell at you and seem annoyed you're in the restaurant? Yah. Will the food be reliably decent? Yah. It's all part of the experience.

I haven't been to Silver Fountain in years, but the quality of the food and service is just as great as I remember! The restaurant is spacious, but from what I remember they get extremely busy during the weekend. I came for dim sum on a Wednesday which ends at 3pm on weekdays. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they offer their whole dim sum menu even on weekdays ()! They don't do the dim sum cart during the weekday (you order off a menu), but everything still came out hot, fresh and in a timely fashion. If you check them out, I highly recommend the sticky rice with duck or the bake pork buns!

Make sure they're on your top list to visit for dimsum restaurant if you're craving for dimsum! They have wonderful selection of good dimsum, like steamed shrimp dumplings (hargaw), steamed meat dumplings (siumai), BBQ pork bun, steamed shrimps and chives dumplings, steamed spare ribs with black beans sauce, steamed rice noodle rolls with shrimps, steamed chicken feet, deep fried taro with meat fillings, sticky rice with meat filings wrapped in lotus leaves, preserved egg porridge, deep fried squids, fried turnip cake. They also have hot carts filled with hot dimsum that wandering around the restaurant offering what they have inside cart. It's interesting while you picked on the food, everything looks delicious in there! The service was good, especially if you speak Cantonese or Chinese but if you don't some of the servers speak very well English. We always visit for dimsum, but they're ala carte lunch menu looks good and promising too, maybe we'll stop by for lunch or dinner sometime, but in the meantime, their dimsum always attractive for us!

The best dim sum , so worth the trip!

Best dim sum in the area, definitely worth the trip. Great variety, high quality food, friendly staff.

Typical American Cantonese food though not the best. Service was in a great order as it was for an event function. Space is a bit limited if you have large groups like 100.

This is primarily due to the owner / chef retiring. This restaurant is a wonderful place for dim sum on weekends. However, they do serve dim sum (without the carts) everyday so if you want your dim sum fix on during the weekday, this place is the way to go. Their shrimp and pork dumplings are delicious. Their shrimp crepe, chicken feet, fried taro dumpling, rice wrapped w/ leaves are also really good. Be sure to ask for hot oil on the side so you can spice out your dishes if you want. It's sad to see this restaurant go. They are really a wonderful local business that has been around for over 10 years. The staff here are always friendly and their dishes never disappoint. If you are in the area before they close on 1/1/25, be sure to support your local Gourmet Inspiration. Great family owned restaurant that never disappoints. We also ordered Vietnamese eggrolls that were flavorful and the string beans with tofu. The prices are very reasonable the staff were very nice. This was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had at a local restaurant…read more My neighbors and I decided to celebrate a birthday at this neighborhood Chinese restaurant. We ordered the Human Delight and specifically requested that it be prepared without any spicy sauce, as two of us cannot tolerate spicy food. When the food arrived, each of us served ourselves and immediately realized the dish was spicy. We called the waiter, who acknowledged that he had entered the order correctly as non-spicy. He took all of our plates, along with the entire entrée, back to the kitchen. When the replacement arrived, we immediately noticed it was served on a much smaller platter and contained no shrimp or scallops, even though those are standard ingredients in Human Delight. We asked the waiter why the dish was smaller and missing key ingredients. Instead of addressing our concern, he appeared annoyed and asked, "What do you want me to do?" We simply asked for the dish we had originally ordered and paid for: Human Delight with shrimp, scallops, beef, chicken, and pork, prepared without the spicy sauce. The waiter then called the manager. The manager identified himself as the cook and stated that he would not add more shrimp or scallops. We explained that we had not eaten the original dish because it was prepared incorrectly and that the entire entrée had been taken back to the kitchen along with our plates. Instead of apologizing and correcting the mistake, he said he needed to inspect the returned plates. After doing so, he claimed he had found only "half a shrimp" on one plate--something that was simply untrue. Eventually, he brought out a third version of the dish. Although it was still noticeably smaller than the original portion, he said he had added "three shrimp and three scallops" this time although he could not account for the rest after checking our plates. We are three women in our 60s and 70s, and we were shocked by how we were treated. Rather than apologizing for serving the wrong order, the staff questioned our honesty and acted as though we were trying to get something we had not asked for. The way this situation was handled was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable. We left feeling insulted rather than valued as customers. We will not be returning, and we cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good customer service or food.

Even with delivery, these maintained their dumpling skin integrity and didn't leak in transit. I'd argue that the skin is a little thick, but I was really impressed by the filling flavors. Excellent. - Chicken - if you love a good chicken soup, this is for you. It's got a tiny kick of spice at the end as well. - Pork - I was not enamored of this one. It was...fine...but didn't have the depth of flavors of the others I tried. - Mala - I didn't really taste the mouth-numbing, tingly spice these were supposed to bring, which didn't stop them from being good.
