I had contacted them with regards to an electrical conduit box that we had out in the yard and wanted to know if it was live or not, and if not, have it removed. The two gentlemen that came out were quick to determine that the box was not live, but they also tracked down where the actual wires were disconnected, and if I wanted to connect something up in the future I could do so. Called the day prior to make an appointment and the day that they were supposed to come out they had called me just before the scheduled appointment time and informed me that they were running a little late (only about 15 minutes or so), which I really appreciated - great communication. Silva Electric was a super help to me! I had a tenant who had done unauthorized electrical mods and I needed to move into the house. They came out and fixed the mods the very next day. Tenant had installed their own outlet 6 feet up the bedroom wall. I needed to get the home painted quickly and was deep in other repairs when they arrived the next day. Not only did they do the work quickly and completely, but they also gave me some spackle blending tips that saved me a couple days worth of work and I was able to start painting the next day. We just bought our new town home and are doing some renovations. We wanted recessed lighting throughout the house. I called Silva Electric and Michael helped me out. They put in a total of 10 lights and re mounted a chandelier in a different location. Everything turned out beautiful! Just perfect. They were so nice, very clean, and respectful of our new home. Called Silva Electric this past Monday, and was able to schedule the appointment for Thursday, as requested. Although it was pouring rain out that whole day, Eugene managed to arrive even before our scheduled appointment time. He was so fast and efficient in changing out the porch light. A lot of our electrical outlets stopped working randomly. We couldn't determine what the issue was so Michael Silva came out to look at our issue. I highly recommend him! He got there 10 min early and was very efficient in locating the main issues we had. He was quick, extremely professional and you could tell he knew what he was doing. Every action he had was thought out and logical. We also had an attic area he crawled into. (home inspector, and others didn't even want to go in the area) where he found another outlet just to check and make sure that there wasn't a problem there. He was very quick and through in his work. Eugene and crew are as good as they come. They have been working on my home for over 2 years now on and off doing jobs others couldn't or wouldn't. There's never once been a time he's said no or I can't do that, every time, "it's sure thing"! Eugene is not the cheapest by any means, you pay for what you get. It's kinda like the Ferrari sitting in my garage, it's not cheap, not everyone can or is willing to pay for it but it's also the best! I've read some of these other reviews and understand some of the frustration of Eugene being hard to reach or too busy, even for me at times he's unable to get jobs done right away but that's understandable when you have a 3 man crew and you're desirable! He always comes through I can assure you that. His price has never increased once he's quoted me. He doesn't really negotiate because his time is valuable and he has more work than time. These are all my personal opinions, I'm also giving 4 stars because I think he does have a little room for improvement in the communication department and cleaning up department (little cut wires usually found around job area). Overall I think Eugene, his son and Danny are all great guys that do fantastic work!! If you can get them to do your job it will be done exactly how you want it. They made an appointment for approximately 10 days later not asking us to wait for weeks. Then, on the day they were scheduled to come, they called and asked permission to come early. I needed a ceiling fan installed. I had installed a couple myself, but the ceiling fan box installed by the builder in this particular room was installed in a way that I couldn't figure out how to attach the fan to it. So I called Silva Electric. The phone rang about 15 times before I finally got a recording to leave a message that seemed designed to screen out robocalls. This seemed kind of sketchy so I hung up. But since the reviews looked great I called back again later. After going through the whole wait for 15 rings and leave a message thing again I left a message and was called back quickly. I asked for a quote to install a ceiling fan on an existing box and received a reasonable price (another electrician advertises in a monthly circular a slightly lower price for ceiling fan installation, but they have awful Yelp reviews so I didn't bother with them). I set up an appointment for a week later. I got a call on that day asking if they could come a couple hours earlier which worked out good for me. They quickly showed up and got to work. They ran into the same problem I did with the ceiling fan box installed by the builder having issues but were able to quickly work around the problem and install the fan. They also needed to replace my wall switch since it was a dimmer switch which would not work with the fan. Even with the extra work, they charged me the original quote. They did a great job, were quick and the fan works great. Next time I electrical work I'll definitely call them. read more

I needed an outlet installed by Friday for an overhead range installation. I called on Wednesday and they were able to install it on Thursday! I had hired Eugene Silva recently, and as one of the other reviewers stated he had to reschedule a couple of times. However, when he finally came, he did a seemingly decent job, but the clean up left a little something to be desired, and his pricing was different than what he had originally quoted me on the phone. Also, Mr. Silva seemed more focused on trying to "sell" me more on energy saving devices, and he left some clothing behind. Then he took a few weeks to come back and get the clothing since something always seemed to "come up", but his pricing was good so none of this was a deal breaker. It was just slightly annoying. About a month later, I hired him to come do another job. He was delayed again, but he at least called to let me know, but when he did finally show up, he quoted me a higher price than what he had charged me just a few weeks prior. I asked him to match his previous price, and he refused. I went in the other room to ask my wife her opinion, and Eugene walked out the door and drove away without another word. I don't like being jerked around and having price quotes changed without any additional work or reasons given. I would never hire someone like this again. read more
