I had the privilege to work with Steve and his team in installing a 14-50 Nema adapter in my condo. I did my due diligence and called multiple companies to see who was willing to do the work. Being in a condo vs owning a home makes installing one of these a lot trickier. You have a shared breaker, and it isn't capable of being upgraded. The one for my condo is 100 amp, and determining if I would overload it or not with the charging was a trial for the electrician to see what they were talking about. Richard from Eco-Tech came out and looked at all the appliances, did the math, and made me feel very confident. Another factor with a condo is wiring everything to the garage, not crossing between shared walls, and making sure everything was up to code. When Richard first came out, he suggested that we might have to install piping in the hall way leading towards my garage, however on the day of installation, he was able to do something much cleaner, installing only a panel that matches inside that wall, and then leading everything towards the garage. I was much happier with this & it looks exceptional. Speaking of the installation, getting the permit was simple, even in Aliso Viejo which has a few odd restrictions. Eco-Tech was able to get it done to code. They were in and out within 6 hours, and the next day the inspector checked and passed everything. While I haven't tested it out yet (as my Tesla is still on order), I don't doubt it won't work. I'll update on that when I have used it. I highly recommend them for any electrical needs. My review is long overdue for service received in March 2023, but well deserved. It's hard finding a good electrician on Yelp because everyone seems to have excellent reviews (4 and above). Excellent reviews doesn't always equal excellent service (some companies offer incentives for good reviews). I'm so glad I found Steve (the owner), because his reviews are 100% customer verified and genuine. How do I know this? Because I was blown away by the outstanding service he provided me, which happens to match the experience of the other many reviewers. I had a fairly large job where I needed to upgrade my main panel, install a sub-panel, and a Tesla Wall Connector. I live in an older home so the main panel is about 80 feet from the garage. Steve came out to do a thorough walk-through for the estimate, explaining all the intricacies for my particular project . He likes to be more on the conservative side, which provides accurate pricing avoiding any surprise costs at the end of the job. A couple days later he started the job, which took about 4 days. His work is efficient and carefully planned, even around the crazy weather we were having back in March (rain/hail/graupel). Steve took care of everything, from the permit to final inspection. He was able to complete the install with very minimal drywall repair, a huge plus. Steve also has an in-house stucco guy, Pat, that helped with the main panel upgrade and has excellent stucco skills. You won't find two harder working guys. What impressed me most is that Steve knows his stuff. He will recommend the best solution that balances cost and performance; he is always looking out for the customer and never will upsell. He uses high quality parts (Square D, aluminum flex conduit, etc), and if you have requests for specific parts he does his best to meet those requests. Steve is honest, hard-working, knowledgable, and overall great guy to talk to. I had tons of questions and comments (more than the usual client), and he tackled each one with poise and patience. Part of my incessant questions is a way to sniff out a b.s.'er (due to my background as an engineer). Steve is a straight shooter and 100% genuine. I would jump at the chance to work with him again if needs arise. For people that are interested about the details, my main panel is 200 amp, 30-space 42-circuit, meter combo, solar ready. Sub-panel is 125 amp, 24-space 48-circuit. Steve ran 80' of 1awg wire in aluminum flex conduit from the main panel to the sub-panel. About 30' of 6awg in aluminum flex conduit from sub-panel to Tesla Wall Connector, with 60 amp breaker. He even setup the Tesla Wall Connector over wifi, which is not as easy as it sounds. Some could say this is over engineered, but it was exactly what I wanted, and I love it! Pictures are better than words, but I don't quite have them yet. Opted for Eco-Tech after finding them on Tesla's list of recommended electricians and the others that I reached out to either didn't respond or refused to come out in the afternoon. Anthony answered when I called *on a Saturday* (!) and was happy to help me book an appointment the following Wednesday afternoon, despite that it was a bit late in the day for him. He arrived and was super friendly and an obvious professional. He went through all the options about how/where we could install a NEMA 14-50 outlet (for Tesla charging), then he went straight to it. He did an excellent job and cleaned everything up both where the outlet was installed and inside the circuit breaker box, then made sure the car was charging properly before heading out. Next he'll deal with the permit and making an appointment with a city inspector so we can get sign-off, at which point we'll finally pay for all the work. Really great experience. 6 STAR performance!!! Steve was able to do an at-site quotation, do the Orange city permit paperwork and install my Tesla Wall Connector (240V Level 2 Charger) all in one day! Steve is friendly, personable, communicates often with phone/email/text, tells great stories (has installed for some very famous people) and by the way does outstanding work! Steve came by in the early morning, gave me a quote, did the math for a city permit, left to obtain the city permit paperwork, then returned to install the Charger which took around 3 hours. The electrical panel did not need upgrading. Working solo, he added a 60-amp breaker then had to install conduit from one side of the 3-car garage to the other side plus the 6 Ga wires. The Charger was mounted to plywood behind the drywall so the Charger is securely mounted. Steve also programmed the Charger to my in-home Wifi network for later software updates. My Tesla now charges at a 32-amp rate which is perfect! The city inspector came by, inspected the work and signed off the permit today. The cost was reasonable considering everything he did.
