Mango Juice!
Mark M.

I am so excited for this new Filipino spot that is close to home! Congratulations on the opening, everyone! I ordered the calamansi juice and mango juice to help wash down my dinner. The Calamansi Juice which was a refreshing iced citrus beverage made with Filipino calamansi fruit. The Mango Juice had refreshing iced mango that was made with mango fruit. I had to take sips in between these drinks because they were both so good and soothing. I liked the variety of the flavors and enjoyed the sweetness each cup contained! For my birthday dessert, I got two tubs of ice cream. The first was the Ube Cookies & Cream and according to the site, "This purple-hued favorite gets a crunchy remix as the perfect companion for movie marathons or when you feel like doing absolutely nothing." It is wild that this is the description because I was watching a film and lounging at the same time while taking in a few of these delicious scoops. I also got the Banana Choco Chunks ice cream, which had the description of "Like a hammock under palm trees, this creamy blend of ripe banana and rich chocolate hits all the right notes-smooth, nutty and totally laid back." I totally agree with this because it was such a relaxing time when I was consuming this treat! I highly recommend this establishment!

Silog Entreé: Chicken Inasal

If you're in the mood for some Filipino food, there are not many choices in this area. Luckily, the food here is pretty good. I ordered the chicken inasal online, and came to pick it up. It was ready at the time promised. Now this is not your normal restaurant. It's based in an office or restaurant space that is just used to prepare the meals. So there's nowhere to sit down, and you can just pick up your meal by ringing or knocking on the door. Be that as it may, I like to bring my food back to the office and eat anyways. Now come the food, it was very delicious. I've had this dish at many other places and some of them aren't up to par. Glad to say Silog Rice Above, makes the cut. If you're in the mood for Filipino food and you're in the area, definitely give them a try. Just place your order 20 minutes before you want to get it and be prepared to pick up the food. They are located next to parking structure 32 and the door is in the alley.

Take out only but everything was delicious. So glad we have a new Filipino option by UCLA. You can order online with the QR code and the food will take about 30 mins. Highly recommend the sisig plate!

I've been searching for authentic Filipino food around UCLA for the past 4 years, and I'm so happy I finally found this place! I learned this location just opened about 3 months ago, and it's already one of my favorite spots. The food is incredibly flavorful, the portions are good, and everything tastes homemade. I got the silog and it was perfectly seasoned. The calamansi juice is also a must-try, it's so refreshing and tangy! You have to either order online or call ahead, then pick up and pay in person. Owner is so sweet as well.

This Pork Sisig is make me crazy !! After I tried it at the first time I have been craving this forever !!!

This PORK SISIG MAKE ME CRAVING forever!!! The best Philippine's food I ever have !!!

I recently found this new spot close to me, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. They always have great buy-one-take-one deals on Uber Eats, which makes it such a good value. The food itself is amazing--big portions, full of flavor, and it honestly makes me feel like I'm back in the Philippines. It's been my go-to whenever I'm craving authentic Filipino food, and they never disappoint. I always end up ordering more than I planned because everything is so good.

Finally a Filipino comfort food spot in Westwood! Don't have to travel to the valley or in Eagle Rock to get bomb Filipino food. Ordered bangus, eggplant, and chicken arroz caldo with iced coffee. So fresh and vey tasty!

Our waiter was personable and took our order quickly as well as consistently replenished our drinking water. Everything was delicious and had its own unique flavor, from the chickpea fritters which had softness and crunchiness, the goat mousse with sweet and savory sauces and the crumpets and crackers; then the goat belly with a deliciously crisp skin and soft inside and intense flavor (but not gamey) with a rich sauce, the steak was yummy and precut, and the pork shank which was epic! I loved all the greens and pita to wrap the pork and goodies into! We ended with a bday scoop of mango sticky ice cream which was completely different than I've had before and yummy.

With things like goat curry and gluten free options, you gotta have rice. Second, they ran out of goat curry. I came all the way from San Diego to try it. Oh well. Excuse to come back. I loved every bite I tried. There was nothing that disappointed. The standouts were the green beans, the Brussels sprouts that came with the chicken, the pork shank and the tuna and crunchy quinoa salad. I'm still thinking of that crunchy quinoa. We had no room for dessert. So maybe next time we try the goat curry, get the quinoa salad again and get dessert! The service was great too. Attentive but not overbearing. It's a cute restaurant both inside and outside.

My wife and I stopped here a few weekends back for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the food. The ambiance here is pretty generic, white and bright and very copy and paste of a lot of places popping up recently. The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.
