Sirloin fries- 10/10 sauce!!
Carmen R.

I'm very sad to hear that this location of spoon and pork will be closing... I've enjoyed this spot on Sawtelle and it's been a great place for me to bring friends to introduce him to Filipino food. Stand out dishes are definitely their Kare Kare, Lumpia Shanghai and more recently their sirloin fries...the sauce on these fries needs to be bottled up and sold! So delicious! I'm glad that they'll still have the silver lake location and will definitely be making the trek out there to support them. The staff have always been so welcoming, kind, and I appreciate the extra effort they do to make sure that more people know about Filipino cuisine. I wish him the best of luck and we'll be showing them support at their other location for sure! Thanks spoon and pork team! You rock!

Came to support a local business. They have counter service when short staffed but today they had a server to help with orders and bus tables. We ordered at pay using QR code tableside. Delicious food; look out for the specials and limited items. We got the Kare Kare (limited today), Patita, tofu silog, and some adobo chicken fries as appetizer. Plenty of food for three so lots to take home! The Patita was fork tender plus extra crispy skin so best eaten quickly. We had extra curry from the Kare Kare so used that with the silog. Great food; we hope their lease situation is in a better spot!

I finally got to try Spoon and Pork in the west side with a friend who came from out of town! It's located in a popular plaza with limited parking so your best bet is to find public or metered parking and walk over. The eating area is modern, dim and cozy. You order from the table with your smart phone by scanning the QRC label on the table. From there, you will bet table service and if you were lucky like us, you will get to meet one of the chefs and co-owners who was extremely friendly and chatted it up with everyone. We ordered the kare kare and the lechon kawali to share and let me tell you, it did it's job for comfort food! The lechon was cook tender and comes with atchara and pickled papaya to give each bite a complete taste. The kare kare had beef so tender. Kare kare didn't have rice so make sure to order a side but we were fine with the rice on the other plate. So delicious and I still think about that kare kare dish today! I know I can cook Filipino food at home but come here for the dishes which are more labor intensive and from very talented chefs with a vision. I can't pressure cook oxtail or deep fry patita on any given day so I will let the experts do that!

The pork adobo bowl is one of my go-tos for comfort Filipino food, which is very limited around this area. The lechon and lumpia were very crispy. The tofu dipping sauce was interesting in a good way (tangy soy sauce). The steak and fries were a bit underwhelming The service was a bit weird since there was a sign in front saying to seat ourselves but then a server ended up seating us. I remembered previous times there were physical menus but they switched to using QR codes where you directly pay before you get your food

Maybe this is the breakthrough Filipino food's been waiting for--a spot planted right in the heart of West LA, surrounded by the hum of pan-Asian cool. No gimmicks. No watered-down fusion for the Instagram crowd. Just honest, soul-soaked Filipino cooking--adobo that still clings to its roots, rice, meat egg pairing (silo) that makes you stop and think. The place isn't trying too hard. It doesn't have to. It's straightforward, still evolving, run by folks who care and who are making changes the right way--quietly, efficiently. You'll taste it in the food. Support them. Take a friend who's never had real sinigang (sour soup). Let them learn something. Let yourself be surprised. You'll walk out full--and better for it.

Authentic taste of the Philippines! Went here on Easter because I was feeling homesick and missing my mom's cooking. This place did not disappoint! Got the chicken Inasal and the lechon kawali bowls. Chicken had so much flavour and the most delicate char, the lechon kawali was beautiful and crispy without being drenched with oil which was amazing. ordered the bagoong on the side to make it taste even more like home. Definitely didn't taste like bagoong you could get from a jar and I'm from Pangasinan so I'd say were bagoong experts. The ambiance inside is a modern nod to the Philippines without being overwhelming. Service was very quick and helpful as well. I loved that we could have this special treat and get a quick casual bite of home. I need to try the fries next time!!

Spoon & Pork has been on my list of spots to try for a while now. When I heard their Sawtelle location was closing, I knew I had to hurry and visit. Two weeks ago, I tried to stop by but, unfortunately, they were closed due to a staffing shortage. Fast forward to today, and I finally got to check out Spoon & Pork's Sawtelle location before it closes for good. I couldn't pass up their famous Patita ($27 for a small) -- the true star of the menu! The crispy skin paired with the flavorful chili glaze was unique and absolutely delicious. The Adobo Tofu ($8 for six crispy pieces) was another standout. The tofu was perfectly crisp, and the rich adobo sauce packed so much flavor. I also tried the Pancit Canton ($12), which was light, savory, and had a refreshing lemony kick thanks to the toyomansi. Last but not least, the Big Breakfast ($25) was a great deal with three eggs and a variety of meats -- tapa, chori, and tocino. It's a perfect plate for sharing! The restaurant's clean, welcoming vibe in the heart of Sawtelle Japantown makes its closing even more bittersweet. While their original Silver Lake location is still open, it's quite the drive for me -- but with those amazing Filipino flavors, it might just be worth the trip! ------ Exciting update! A day after posting this review, Spoon & Pork announced they're not quite done yet at the Sawtelle location! They'll be testing out a new concept for two months -- Spoon & Pork Express -- offering a modern take on turo turo (a Filipino cafeteria-style eatery) with budget-friendly dishes. I can't wait to see what they serve up next!

Have been going to the Silver Lake location for years so happy to now only be finding out they have one on Sawtelle too! Same amazing food but more options in terms of variety. We ordered the Patita (NEVER MISS), the Kare Kare (MUST ORDER), the Sisig Rice and Laing! Service is quick, warm and friendly. Definitely going back to try more of their dishes next time :)

Stopped here for lunch recently and I'm glad I did. What I didn't know was that they were doing self-seating and ordering through a QR code at the table. Not sure if it's always been like that or due to being short-staffed. I ordered lumpia and tocilog. The food came out nice, fresh, and with good flavor. You can get water and utensils at the entrance. I'll be heading back soon to try their other dishes.

Lechon Kawali Breakfast with Garlic Rice and eggs

I met my sister and her family for lunch here today post Christmas and were completely satisfied beyond belief! I'm of Filipino descent and have to say these guys nailed some key dishes that brought me back to my childhood! From the scrumptious Lumpia, Beefstek, Excellent Adobo wings , fried chicken , Lechon and garlic fried rice this place rocked ! We were a table of 7 and were seated right away. This restaurant is centered in the heart of Japan/Korea town off of Sawtelle and is a solid alternative if the places around it are backed up! Overall I give this place a 9/10 and will come back next time I'm in Los Angeles and craving Filipino Food on the Westside!

We stopped by for a quick late lunch. It wasn't too busy and it was self seating, get your own water/utensils and order from a qr code. The food came out quickly! The food was good. Fries were a pretty big serving. The lechon kawali was perfectly crispy. Good spot to hit that Filipino food craving!

I've passed this spot for years and never stopped in, but I finally got brunch here this fall -- and Spoon and Pork live up to everyone's recommendations! I love that the menu has different types of portions (single, regular for 2 people or family for 3-4 people). I got the Adobo pork belly for breakfast, which includes garlic rice, two eggs, and tomato. It was so tasty and delicious! The garlic rice was absolutely divine. Now I can wait to try the other dishes on the menu!

Sawtelle: So many good places to eat and so little convenient parking.... We were trying to get to Big Boi Filipino but they never seem to be open when we hit this part of town. No issue getting a table for three last minute on a Wednesday night Service was quick and friendly and was happy to recommend dishes to us. We started with both the brussel sprouts and mushrooms which I would normally not mention as they are simply side dishes. But both were really delicious and we finished them before we even got to the main dishes. The Patita was phenomenal, with the slightly sweet/slightly spicy glaze all over it. That with a little garlic rice and we were in heaven. Last thing ordered was the Kare Kare - lots of hidden gems inside the bowl, each one better than the last. The peanut sauce is perfectly light so it didn't overpower the other flavors. I can't speak to the authenticity of the food but for our group we thought everything was amazing.

The indoor seating also has heaters and the employees offer to turn it off if it's too hot. I got the shrimp ceviche and the jasmine tea cocktail. The drink was too strong for me, I prefer a fruity drink. I couldn't finish it and decided to order the passionfruit one instead and that was great. The waiter came to check on us multiple times and noticed that my jasmine tea drink was barely touched and he offered to take it off the bill which was so great of him!! Was ready to pay for it but now I'm going to come back and try their other dishes and drinks as well. The ceviche was pretty standard, did the job. Gotta note that all the food came out at the same time and was so fast! I think it was 5-10min from placing the order to getting the food. Thankfully, there's so much parking in the back and it feels safe so definitely a great spot to try again in the future.

At one point, we tried to get her attention as she walked by. She stopped next to me and responded with a quick "yeah" but stayed focused on her device and never actually lifted her head to look at us. We asked for an extra bowl for our poke salad. She nodded, then went to another table and never brought it. I understand it can get busy. Just be polite and responsive. That's all. The bussers, however, were polite which we appreciated. Eventually, I believe the manager or owner came by with the bill, and he was nice and professional. We even had to go up to the front to follow up, since our waitress never checked back in or handled the bill. As for the food, it was okay - nothing particularly memorable. I'd rate it a 3 out of 5. Service, unfortunately, was a 1 out of 5 and really overshadowed the entire experience. That said, it may have just been an off day for our server, but it still left a negative impression.

Whether it's a sun-drenched breakfast, a power lunch, or a cozy neighborhood dinner, this place nails the vibe every single time. It manages to be sophisticated and "LA-cool" while still feeling like a warm, welcoming local haunt. Here is why Lunetta All Day is a consistent 5-star experience: The Best Breakfast in Town: The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are legendary for a reason--fluffy, tangy, and not overly sweet. If you're a savory fan, the Short Rib Hash is rich, tender, and the ultimate comfort food to start your day. The "All Day" Versatility: I love that I can come here for a world-class latte and a pastry in the morning, or a glass of crisp rosé and a Chisaya Burger in the afternoon. The transition between a casual cafe and a refined bistro is seamless. Thoughtful Ingredients: Chef Raphael Lunetta clearly prioritizes seasonal, local ingredients. You can taste the freshness in the salads and the quality in the proteins. Even a simple side of crispy fingerling potatoes feels elevated here. Chic & Airy Atmosphere: The interior design is stunning--think mid-century modern meets coastal California. With the large windows and open feel, it's one of the best spots on Pico Blvd to soak in that Santa Monica light. Polished Service: The staff is incredibly professional. They are attentive without being intrusive, and they move with a pace that shows they respect your time, whether you're on a quick lunch break or a leisurely weekend brunch. Pro Tip: Their outdoor patio is dog-friendly! It's the perfect place to sit with your pup and people-watch while enjoying a Wood-Fired Pizza. Also, don't sleep on their bakery counter--the cookies are some of the best in the city. Lunetta All Day is the kind of place that makes you want to move into the neighborhood just so you can eat here every morning. A true Santa Monica staple!
