If you're a fan of great thai food, and live on the West side, there is no question this place should be at the top of your list. Being a green curry fiend, I always get their green curry and it is solid, but holy cats their __Massaman curry is world changing__. Absolutely recommend their chewy, mochi-like roti that accompanies the dish. The papaya salad is refreshing and is great spicy or mild depending on your tolerance, and their pineapple fried rice is perfectly balanced, not too sweet like many others. I'm fortunate to live close enough that I just grab it for take out to avoid the parking situation, and the quality of their packing absolutely speaks to the love and care they put into their food. Wet items are double bagged, cardboard dividers are used at every layer to keep the package stable; no items are crammed into a corner waiting for a spill. There was only like one parking spot available in front of the business, so you can try parking at Sprouts but you didn't hear it from me What we got: - Pad see ew, which was a decent portion size for $15. Good ratio of veggies to protein! - Yellow curry was creamy and savory! Comes with a serving of rice for $15 - Panang curry had some kick to it and was creamy and super flavorful! We ordered a Thai tea with almond milk, house fried rice, pineapple fried rice, crying tiger, pad see ew, tom yum soup, and mango sticky rice! Every single dish was so flavorful, delicious, and comforting!! We ordered 6 dishes and a drink for 3 people. The pad kee mao was good but nothing special :oo the yellow curry was sweet and good, but I feel that they could've had more chicken or vegetables in it. Mango sticky rice was good!! Mangoes were ripe and rice was good amount of sweet. Good portions. The atmosphere is nice; slightly dark inside but it was nice to eat in. The service.. was not great. When my friend and I walked in and asked for a table of two, the waitress took awhile even though there were open tables and moved slowly as if she didn't want us to sit. She was a bit rude when I had a small question and rushed us towards the end even though there was no one waiting on us and it was not closing time yet. I pay way less then that for the curry and rice at a hole in the wall place and it is SO much better! I could not even finish it and will not be finishing it. There also wasn't much broth I usually have a good amount of broth and even the mushy rice was able to soak up whatever broth I did have. I've been coming here for more than 20 years. I'm surprised I hadn't written a review until now! Shame on me. The restaurant is very unassuming. It's located in a tiny strip mall on Westwood Blvd. just north of Santa Monica Blvd. and just south of Sprouts and its giant parking lot. There is currently a noodle and boba place next door, but that has obv changed over the years. There are a handful of tables inside, and a few outside. The ones by the window are prettier, but they're all imminently serviceable. Everything on the menu is good. We love the egg rolls, and this is one of the few places where we actually use the sauce, too (it is excellent). Pad Thai is a long-time favorite. We usually order it with shrimp, but the chicken and tofu are also great options. (Other options are beef and duck, which are also good, but we rarely get this protein combination with the Pad Thai.) The pad see ew with beef is super - the flavors work so well with the beef, and the dish is very filling. The noodles are positively addictive. The spicy eggplant with tofu is an all-time favorite dish, as well. It pairs best with rice IMHO. Truly, you just can't go wrong. Prices are very reasonable, service is quick and friendly. I asked for it spicy (x3) so that its Hot (but not too hot) and it was PERFECT!! Sometimes Thai restaurants make it super spicy and sometimes its barely spicy, but Thai Fresh made it Just how my Wife and I Love it!! It's fine, if not groundbreaking or amazing. Thai Fresh Cafe is also very easy to miss - walking or driving by, you really gotta look for them. Having never been, it was high time to stop by. They actually have a couple outdoor tables, if you like. Mostly, though, they are all about the Take Out. (I'm sure they have the delivery groups, too,) OK. So. A late weekend lunch, and a weekday lunch special. I first tried the Pumpkin Curry (with chicken). Fairly mild flavor and plenty creamy, I wish I had asked for a bit of spice. The basil is perhaps the most prominent flavor that my mouth lingered over. The pumpkin (or squash) was a little mushy but it held my interest. The chicken was pretty standard, and made rounded out the dish. The accompanying white rice was frankly a bit disappointing. Not particularly fresh and bouncy, it definitely worked just fine but was a tad chewy. The Lunch Special that I tried included the Spicy Eggplant (with chicken). Certainly the proper chew-factor with the eggplant. I think I liked it more than the Pumpkin Curry, but again, not much spice. Maybe I just look like a non-spicy guy, I dunno. Must remember to ask. The smallish egg-roll that comes with is tasty, with a satisfying crunch and without the grease. The green salad was refreshing, though I might ask for less salad dressing. And again, the white jasmine rice that comes with the dish was the same - kind of limp and lackluster. I love how it's a family business, and owners seem nice and sincere. Another plus is that they are super quick. So, I'll definitely keep Thai Fresh in mind. read more

I usually get pad woon sen with extra veggies, but last night I got the Guay Teow Ped roasted duck soup with wide rice noodles. It was delicious! There are only five (5!) tables in this tiny restaurant and some are for only two! We went on a Saturday of finals week and got the last table available -- I can't imagine that it's not crowded when UCLA is in session because the food is delish and very reasonably priced. The green curry had a complex, medium-hot spice blend with a bit of something "extra" that Thai green curry typically doesn't have -- nice! We also enjoyed the fried catfish (tasty sauce!) and the pad kee mow (although there was not much broccoli). It's a cute place inside overall, with a DIY, salvaged-materials vibe and a fish tank. The only reason I can't give a five-star review is that it smelled dank and musty in the corner seat inside at the window -- not so pleasant.
