Came here recently for dinner on a weekend. I wasn't sure I wanted to give it a try after my last experience but we live nearby and decided to give it another try. The place is cute, it's like a house, with several different dining sections. We started with the pork "wonton" appetizer. Some pieces of the diced pork were a little fatty so hubby and daughter didn't love that. These were not wontons, they were more like chips with the diced pork on top of it. But I thought the sauce had a good Asian flavor. We also had the crab soup, which was very good. For entrees, I feel like they could have had more items on their menu. This place is apparently supposed to be open till 10pm, but we came here at 8:50pm and the cooks had already left because they were having a "slow day". They shouldn't be turning down customers if the place is supposed to be opened till 10pm. I would never consider choosing this place ever again. read more

Don't come here, you've been warned. Don't come here when there's a wedding, but that's something you can't control and something the venue doesn't account for. After ordering, expect to never see your wait staff and wait at least an hour before getting any food. Table service is abysmal. The food itself is just ok. Nothing special. The brownie sundae was not a moist brownie but a dry brown cake. While the atmosphere can be nice outside, some of the best outdoor seating is right next to a noisy HVAC system. read more

It was a beautiful evening and we sat on the front porch for dinner. I ordered a glass of wine. The wine was very good. I ordered my favorite, fish and chips with coleslaw. It didn't disappoint with the crispy battered fried cod and crispy hot fries. It was delicious. One of my friends ordered the egg plant, cheese, tomato sauce and noodles. She really liked her dish. Another friend ordered the pork chop with cheesy potatoes. He said it was tender and delicious. My other friends ordered the teriyaki salmon and they both loved it. Our server was trying to serve too many tables. So, getting dessert took a long time. It also took forever to get a correct check. I ordered the opera cake which was 3 different cakes combined into one. I thought it was really tasty. Luckily, we were enjoying the evening. 1.18.26 I visited today for a work friend's father's celebration of life, and this venue couldn't have been more perfect. The buffet spread was delicious--from the crab and spinach dip to the meatballs, wraps, pasta salads, cookies, and brownies. I also ordered a hot chocolate, and it was incredibly tasty. The service was impeccable. Staff checked in often and cleared plates promptly. This is a wonderful place to celebrate any occasion--weddings, birthdays, reunions, or even just a nice meal. read more

Beautiful Manor House -- Now Restaurant & Event Space (Maybe where my son gets married) I attended another event and my son is getting married and searching for a place for his wedding reception. I suggest this place and compare to other options, this location had more reasonable prices. You can have the bride's dressing room, ceremony, wedding photos and wedding reception all in one location. You have to inquire with the business for their full prices. The staff were friendly and they make an expert Maryland State cocktail, the Orange Crush. It comes in other varieties and flavors. They have several outdoor bars, and the main restaurant and bar. This place is extremely charming and is going to be perfect for my son's wedding. But if you don't want something so formal, it might be perfect for a special occasion and/or a "treat yourself" brunch. We love Silo Falls and looked forward to spending a weekend afternoon on the patio on a beautiful day. Patio was closed and the explanation was that it would be open when the season started (one would think the outdoor season starts in May- June at the latest). The beautiful grounds were in disarray, tables and chairs upturned grass overgrown in spots, weeds outnumbered flowers in the beds which badly need fresh mulch. The entire scene was so sad. Our server was kind and attentive, tuna appetizer was incredible, the fried green tomatoes with the upcharge for "lump crabmeat" had no more than a tablespoon or two of obvious canned crab that was obviously not lump. Our server removed the $10 upcharge for the crab which was very considerate. read more

Solo Falls replaced the Brookeville Inn a few (or a lot of) years ago. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor dining space and large interior too. The menu has a decent variety of options, from salads and grain bowls, to steaks and cheeseburgers. My family diner here for Mother's Day, where they had an $80 pre-fixed menu and their regular brunch items. The pre-fixed menu was disappointing and limited for the price, so we ordered our own sides and entrees (ended up saving a few hundred $$). I recommend going here for a semi-formal event/celebration. The food isn't outstanding, but it's decent and the vibes are very nice. read more

We really wanted to like this place, we hadn't been here in years. The location is beautiful. The food was inconsistent and the server basically was not attentive and disappeared on us. We ordered drinks, the short rib appetizer, the crab cake platter, the salmon, and the creme brûlée. The short rib appetizer was lukewarm and mushy, it should have been so much better. The crab cake platter was unappealing, with the crab cakes underdone and mushy. The vegetables were bland. The best part about that dish was the coleslaw. The salmon and vegetables was very good, and so was the creme brûlée. There were two tables around us who also sent dishes back while we were there. This restaurant had a lovely ambiance with an awesome patio! Service was rather slow, slow to be seated despite a reservation and open tables and slow to be approached for drinks. We started with the calamari and the bruschetta. Calamari was salty but the creamy aioli was really good. I also enjoyed the arugula salad served underneath the calamari. Bruschetta was great! I had the crab cake platter, as did my friend. Crab cake was almost all lump with a light buerre blanc sauce served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Man oh man this place was adorable! The entire property is decorated with Christmas lights and is very inviting. The reaturant is in a old farm house that is absolutely beautiful. There were wood burning stoves and fires throughout the place making it so warm and cozy. There's a front room which is more intimate, a wrap around bar, and back room which great couches and tables with a band playing! There was truly a setting for everyone! Our waiter was great and very attentive. They have happy hour 7 days a week! The Crab and spinach dip was out of this world! Served with fried old bay pitas! The filet was huge and cooked perfectly! We just had an amazing Valentine's Day dinner at Silo Falls. Everyone on their team went above and beyond to make it a special evening. We had a window table in the first floor dining room; the room had a fireplace. We ordered a bottle of wine. My husband raved about his cream of crab soup, and the meatball appetizer was very tasty. I ordered the Pasta Silo Falls and my husband had the grilled salmon. We shared a creme brulee for dessert. Our server was named Brooke. She was so pleasant and she checked in with us after each course came out. A high volume night like Valentine's Day can strain the resources of a restaurant, but they handled it all seamlessly. Food: the "new" brunch menú should be called " lunch" menú due to the absense of any breakfast ítems like, pancakes, waffles, omelette's, crepes, or anything sweet. Brunch is limited to four items. The steak was cooked in eirter a microwave or or previously boiled in a witches pot and them microwaved. I don't normally explore the 301 but Silo Falls was a welcome surprise during my recent daytime adventure. The restaurant itself is situated on a large piece of land. There's a giant silo in the back next to a patio that overlooks a scenic pond. There's plenty of outdoor seating on the lawn, the patio, and inside at the bar or in the dining room. We came on a day where there was a quinceanera happening so it was quite busy. The hostess let us know we could seat ourselves outside on the patio and just come into the bar to place an order for food or drinks whenever we felt like it. I actually really loved this option since we wanted to chill and take our time and not worry about tableside service. I got an orange crush which was simply delish! I also got the fish and chips and the tempura asparagus. All of it was really good! I especially liked the aioli sauce that came with the asparagus. The fish wasn't too over-fried either and retained its flakey texture. Once your order is ready you get a text and just pick it up at the hostess stand. It was really easy and fast! I hope to return again when I'm in the area next time. It's a great spot to take your time chatting it up with pals over yummy food and drinks in a gorgeous setting. read more

We went to this restaurant for brunch about two years ago and it was absolutely wonderful. Plenty of brunch options and they were all wonderful. We finally made it back this past weekend only to find it was under new management based on other reviews. The brunch menu is beyond limited. I wound up ordering an entree salad with salmon off the main menu. The portion size was ridiculously small for the price and the food was pretty pedestrian to boot. We were so disappointed - definitely not the experience it once was. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the hostess and our server were both very friendly and attentive. I was at Silo Falls with a large group in August. We were all competing at the event space next to the Waredaca Brewing Company, but we wanted to eat somewhere a bit more dressy on Saturday night. I was pleased that Silo Falls was able to take a reservation same-day for a group of 13, even tho they had several other events with large parties going on. Our sever was fantastic. Enthusiastic, bubbly and provided just the experience we were hoping for. The food was good, a bit pricey, but we knew part of what we were paying for was the atmosphere. Just wanted to say thanks to the staff at silo falls. I was part of a large party for a memorial after the funeral. We made the mistake of thinking the event started at 1pm, when on the contract it said 4pm. The staff made the experience memorable and were extremely accommodating with us showing up 3 hours early. We all know it was not easy, and our expectations were more than met. I didn't catch the managers name, but everyone who worked our party deserves all the credit. Thanks! My friend was very excited to bring me to this place and upon arrival, I was really excited. The price point was actually fairly low and it is a very good value. The food came out very quickly as well and the service para waitress was really good although she never filled up our waters again Nora was a bottle of water left at our table like I saw another waiter doing. I ordered the steak sandwich and my friend got the stew. I took one bite and noticed that not only was there no horseradish but the taste was really off. I thought it might be me so I took another bite and realized that something was really off with the sandwich. I asked my friend to take a bite and they immediately spit it out. They confirmed that yes the meat was bad. I walked back to the kitchen and found a waiter who asked me which table I was sitting at, like I have any idea. Our waitress and returned and I told them that I did not touch the second half of the sandwich I recommend someone trying it to confirm that maybe they should take the meat off of the menu completely for that evening. The waitress asked me if I wanted anything else and I ordered the meatloaf instead. It was good but it came out 10 minutes later, well after my friend had finished eating so the meal and was spent watching my friend it and then them watching me eat. We received the bill and found out that we were charged full price for everything. No comps, barely even say I'm sorry. During the exchange, we did ask to see a manager but none ever came out. We certainly would never make a problem for a place, my friend being a restaurant owner themselves, but this was an opportunity to bring something to their attention that needed to be done so. We also didn't expect any special treatment but I was really surprised to see that not even one of our glasses of wine was taken off the bill as it ruined the entire evening. I would like to think this was an isolated case and I did not plan on writing much about it but it was very miss handled so I think it's good feedback for the management to have. read more

Although the food has been ok, during my last visit they ran out of mashed potatoes and lobster ravioli. We were sitting outside and our waitress took forever to come back out every time. It was around 8pm (dark outside) and we even had to ask another waitress to turn the lights on for us ! This venue is on a beautiful property with a pond and geese. My friend had her wedding here. The space is large enough for a big event (even during covid) and you can meet for drinks or a meal on the patio, if you don't want to sit inside. I saw lots of servers during my visit. There were three or four hovering by the host desk. There were several more in the back area, inside the restaurant. So many servers but we did not get much service. It looked like two servers were covering all of the tables in the patio area. The menu has pub food and pricy entrees. I came for the atmosphere and conversation (which is about all I got). The weather was perfect. A band played while we visited. We just couldn't get enough visits from our server to fully enjoy the food or beverages. My friend ordered a sangria. It looked like punch. She didn't like the taste. Our server wasn't stopping by quick enough to see how we were enjoying (or not) our items. She was able to switch drinks 25 minutes later. My friend ordered fish and chips. If the server had stopped by sooner, she would have asked to have a different item. I ordered pretzel rolls. I asked the bartender for mustard when I couldn't find the server. The pretzels were not fully cooked inside. The dough was still gooey. The server checked on us when we waved at him. I asked if I could have cooked pretzels. He returned the same plate (I had taken a bite of each to see if any were fully cooked) of pretzels that were now over cooked on the outside but still raw in the middle. He should have brought a fresh plate of newly cooked pretzel rolls. I went back inside, interrupted another conversation with servers & asked for a manager. He said we would receive better service now that he was aware. I left hungry since I didn't eat and wasn't given a new batch. The manager dropped the ball by not checking on us and asking if we wanted something else. The band was awesome. We walked around the property and enjoyed watching the start of the sunset. This place seems better suited for events than a small meal or snack. You can't ignore a large group. It is easy to get overlooked when you are in a full section outside. I came here with my mom for a celebratory dinner. The grounds are stunning, super lush and pretty. Service was great, and it was a fun vibe. Unfortunately, the food was very bland. I had the blackened salmon and it was not good in terms of flavor. The grits that came with it had absolutely no flavor or seasoning, and I tried adding salt but that was still a bust.
