The service was excellent. Most of the food was really good (the crab cake was real crab and not bread crumbs, the spiced shrimp was delicious...). Some good was good or okay (the "old bay" fries were just good fries but not seasoned, the potato skins were heavy on cheese but not flavorful...). Prices a bit steep, but not ridiculous. Big issue -- check the latest health code situation as this place has had many recurring sanitation issues.

This is a classic go to place in olney for a quality meal that's just a little fancy. Good for a date night, celebrating an occasion, or just having an evening dinner. There is a dining room with tables, booths, and bar seating. This place is basically an institution it's been here that long. If I am in the mood for a nice burger or a steak, I'll come here. The bar has televisions usually playing sports. There's bathrooms in the back near the kitchen. You don't need a reservation but I always suggest you make one. This place gets really busy on a Friday and Saturday night. The food is delicious and I've frequented here more times than I can count. The price range is $$. The staff are friendly and there is good service. I really enjoy coming here. The menu is more succinct and doesn't change that often. They do have a daily specials menu that changes. It is a great place to all ages, families, party sizes. It has that home town local dinner spot vibe. My food is always delicious, I definitely recommend coming here. There is parking in the shopping center and a small lot in the back. You can order to go, you pick up and pay at the bar. You can also order through food delivery services.

I was invited to a birthday dinner at the Olney Grille. I was a little hesitant because I had not heard about the restaurant in years. But, I am glad I went. It was packed with diners on a Saturday night and the wait staff was on top of it. We had a party of ten and the waiter got the table drinks and warm bread right away. They had all of the orders out at the same time and everyone seemed pleased. The huge hits of the evening were the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. I have never seen a plate wiped cleaner in a shorter amount of time. My friend scarfed the meatloaf and mashed potatoes down and was really happy with his dish. It looked homemade. I had the steak salad and it was delicious. There were many grilled vegetables and a fair amount of tender steak. I really enjoyed my meal and would order it again. The birthday boy ordered pork chops and he loved his meal. My only hiccup was that I asked the waiter for a separate check in the beginning of our order. When, we were getting ready to leave he said that they didn't do separate checks. Then, he said that he didn't want everybody else in my party to ask for separate checks. I thought that was not honest and he shouldn't have waited till the end of the meal to let me know that. So, the food was good and the service was good, but clear any requests with management or you might get a surprise at the end of your evening, as I did. I would go back again and ask for a different server. An oldie can be a goodie, even with restaurants.

First time here, we were not set out for The Olney Grille, in fact we were heading for Gettysberg and the weather turned bad so we decided to exit and just googled restaurant near me. First impression in the door was quaint, the place is clean, very roomy and nicely decorated. Service was great, our server "Brain" was very nice and attentive. Pros: Clean restaurant Friendly staff Nice menu options Nicely priced Cons Food could have been hotter Food Choices were bland. The menu was nice with good choices and variety, I ordered The BBQ Ribs and my wife ordered The Chicken Penne Pasta (Both Pictured). We were given warm dinner rolls while we waited which were very good. Our food came out very fast which suprised my considering my food was warm but not hot. The Ribs were fall off the bone but the sauce was not very good or maybe needed more of it, I've had much better ribs out than these. The side of Cole Slaw that came with was ok, creamy and sweet the way I like it, also came with a side of fresh hot veggies that were nicely done and crisp. I also got a side of Onion Rings with a side of creamy pepper sauce with was very good. My wife ordered The Penne Chicken which looked good but we both agreed that it lacked flavor, nothing special. All in all, we will come back just eager to try something different.

The meatloaf was just o.k. but the crab bisque was worth the price. A decent local spot.

I was a little worried the food wouldn't be as good because it was so busy, but that wasn't the case at all. We ordered two Combo B (OH SNAP!) and one Combo F (FEELIN' CRABBY). For one of the Combo B, we added an extra 3 lbs of crawfish, 3 lbs of clams, and 2 lbs of Dungeness crab. For each pound of seafood boil, it comes with one corn and two potatoes. The seafood boil was drenched in their ultimate Juicy Special sauce. Their sauce is so good! It's packed with bold flavors and a nice spicy kick (This makes it addicting). You also can't sleep on potatoes and corn! It's soft and sweet which balances out the bold tastes! If you're craving a seafood boil, Juicy Seafood is the place to go! Everything tasted amazing, and it's such a great value. If you're not sure which sauce to choose, just go with the Juicy Special. It's hands down the best! I'll definitely be back for more. Thank you for such a great experience!

Overall, the food is good, and, in our opinion, you do get what you pay for. Keep in mind that they DO charge you if you have leftover food on your table when you are done. Be mindful of that and make sure to let them know as you are finishing up, and want more, to scale down your portion size. There is a 90-minute window to eat. The servers don't really go over the menu much, so if it is your first time for all you can eat, make sure to take notice that the crab legs do come with a few different flavor options. The bad - They started a new policy, which I understand, but do not like. If you want all you can eat, everyone who is at the table must all order it as well, or nobody can. I understand they are protecting their profits, but that has taken us away from this place on more than one occasion to eat elsewhere as some wanted it and another family members wanted to order off the main menu. Also, service can be extremely slow, and I am not sure if it is intentional or not, but we have complained more than once and made them extend our time. Last time we went, they set our first order of food down on the table and as we were eating, the waitress walked by no less then 5 times and didn't bother to ask if we wanted anything else. Then, magically, when our food was gone, we could not get anyone to come to the table for 15 minutes. Upon ordering our next round, it took another 20 more minutes for the food to arrive. They are sticklers about the 90-minute time frame, and we explained that twice this has happened and 60 minutes of our 90 minutes was wasted waiting on a server and then the food took forever. They allowed us one more round of food, which we appreciated and thought was fair. We start a stopwatch now and if we feel things are going slow, we address that with the server and sometimes put in a new order when the food is being dropped off. Overall, we are pleased to come here a few times a year. We only get all you can eat and usually are happy when we leave. The food is inconsistent as we do get the lobster tail with all you can eat, and it is usually overcooked and can chew like rubber, but still has good flavor. The crab legs sometimes come out waterlogged with salt, but most times piping hot. This is your typical "average" 3-star restaurant. If you are prepared to spend the money for all you can eat, you will leave satisfied and full, but never will you think "I wish I could come here every week". I have not ordered specific entrees off the regular menu so I cannot speak on portion size or quality of the food by ordering that way. Staff is always pleasant, but you do need to get on them if they are slacking.

I'm not gonna lie, despite following the GPS, it was tricky for me to find where the restaurant was actually located. The GPS led me through the back way, so there were unmarked roads and no signage identifying Salt & Vine from the back. The easiest way to find the big white house of the restaurant is off of Olney Sandy Spring Road. There's a few parking spots available in the front and additional parking in the back. We had a private room upstairs, almost in a nook. The room was a little dingy and was a bit dated - the mirrors were tarnished and could've used some Windex - but the dining room table was set and it gave us the intimate ambiance that we were looking for. Service was excellent! Five stars for service! Ty was our primary server. He checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything, checked to see how the food was, and still gave us the space to enjoy our private lunch together. Any time a new guest arrived, Ty promptly greeted the newcomer and was ready to get them a drink. When the guest of honor arrived, he gave his congratulatory wishes and really set the tone for a wonderful luncheon at Salt & Vine. Service was super accommodating and pacing between the dishes was done really well. We never felt rushed and also never felt like we were sitting around wondering when the next dish would come. All the dishes served had the necessary serving utensils for family-style. Service was upscale in the sense that they changed out plates and silverware in between courses. Service was also super seamless - another staff member was there to assist to clear plates, bring out food and dishes, and do drink refills - and everyone did their job efficiently and effectively. Leftovers were also packed up by the staff and neatly packaged to take home. We had a family-style meal consisting of the arancini, grandma's meatballs, house salad, wood-oven roasted oysters, fusilli bolognese, artichoke and crab frittata, fresh berries and whipped cream, and cannolis. Each dish had beautiful presentation. The standout dish (and rightfully so) was the fusilli bolognese, which Ty said was by far the most popular dish on the menu. The fusilli bolognese was delicious! The fusilli bolognese was perfectly balanced between the meat, creamy tomato sauce, and cheese. I don't like pasta that's swimming in sauce or that has chunks of meat that's dry or rolls right out of the sauce - this fusilli bolognese does everything right and I'm here for it. The arancini was light and super cheesy on the inside. It's almost like a fried mozzarella ball. The meatball was served with a lovely dollop of herbed ricotta. Both the arancini and meatball were served in a tasty marina sauce and I would say they were good serving sizings for the starters. The house salad was fresh and nicely dressed, but pretty basic - some mixed greens, little tomatoes, pickled red onions, and croutons, plus a balsamic dressing. The artichoke and crab frittata was topped with mixed greens that almost felt like another salad. Everything was portioned out already, making it easy to serve and share the meal together. I do like a little more stuff in my frittata (peppers, onions, cheese, etc. aka the works), but I did appreciate that you can taste the crab and artichokes in the dish. For dessert, we had the fresh berries with whipped cream and a platter of cannolis. We loved the berries and whipped cream - so fresh and lightly sweet and airy. You get a two-for-one with the cannolis - you get chocolate chips on one side and pistachios on the other end - it's the best of both worlds! These were classic cannolis done really well. I highly recommend Salt & Vine for any event you may have. They hosted our luncheon expertly. And the fusilli bolognese- get it!

I called and got the small bistro table for two in the back by the bar. I wasn't sure this little table was going to hold three plates of food but with some creative angling, we made it work. We walked in at 6:00 pm and there were plenty of staff in the back at the bar but no one said anything to us, not even a greeting. So we stood for a little bit by the door until we moved closer to the bar. Finally someone asked us if we needed help. We said we had a reservation. But it did take a while for them to come back to get our drinks and order our meal. A bumpy start but all is forgiven since we did very much enjoy the food. I got the crab norfolk with fries and broccolini on the side. If you love crab as much as I do, there's nothing not to like about the crab norfolk. Lots of tender and delicious crab cooked in butter and vinegar. I savored every bite. The other entree was a special request and we're grateful that they were able to accommodate. We asked for a fish and chips and without hesitation, we were told it was possible. The fish was the cod in a nice batter. Our server was helpful and friendly once we got served. I'm thinking of sitting at the bar next time which seems to have more room for all the plates we want to order. The desserts looked great but we will have to try them next time. Plenty of parking. Noise level was normal.

The hostess seemed to avoid eye contact for about five minutes even though we were standing right in front of her. It felt a little like we had shown up too early for a surprise party that was clearly not for us. Once we were seated, everything improved. Our waitress, Paige, was attentive, thoughtful, and made the experience feel genuinely warm. We started with the mussels, which were exceptional; meaty, creamy, and delicious, with bread good enough to make restraint feel optional. We also had the mini Paloma oyster shooters, which were fun and memorable. I ordered a seasonal cocktail with very little simple syrup, since I usually do not like sweet drinks, and they got it exactly right, which is rarer than it should be. For the main course, we had the seasonal surf and turf special, an 8 oz filet mignon with crab meat over asparagus and succotash. The crust on the steak was excellent, the vegetables were perfectly seasoned, and the filet was cooked exactly as ordered. We finished with their newer take on key lime pie, which was very good and nicely balanced; not too sweet, not too tart. We spent just under $100 per person, so this is not an inexpensive night out. That said, the food quality and service largely justify the price. Overall, aside from the awkward start at the hostess stand, this was an excellent first visit. We spent just under $100 per person, so GrillMarX is not playing in the bargain bin, but the food and service were strong enough that we would absolutely come back
