Not everyone's cup of tea, and that's alright. When dive meets punk, you get the Sil. It's great for it's features of pinball, darts, pool table, pitchers of beer, enclosed smoking area in the back, and generic vibe. With gentrification and post-COVID times, it's hard to find real cultural identification. It's also been a safe spot for more LGBT youth over the years. The serve popcorn too and have live bands that come and play. They also take credit card these days too. Some might say that it's seedy and doesn't appeal to the taste. But, I will day this, being there to watch a game on the TVs feels like you're in a living room with company that wants to be in a jovial setting. It's the last thing from boring.

A dive for the divers, excellent vibes. Pretty much everyone there was nice and chatting, great clientele. This is my roommates FAVORITE bar but I just went for the first time recently. Rum and ginger ale was solid, they were busy and service was relatively quick.

A fun, no-frills local bar. My friend got invited to cover and spread the word. He has many followers on instagram (@caught.in.a.taste) and took me along. A fun place for cheap drinks and chatting. A lot of locals do come here and even people who now have moved away come back for nostalgia. It's definitely divey and there's free popcorn available. Grab a few friends and go there and have a good time over a few beer. Wanna play pool or darts? They have that too. Got to speak to the owner and he is planning to bring back local band nights and/or live music in the back. They are also accepting CCs now. Glad Yelp listened to me and it now shows they are open for business instead of being closed which they had to due to covid.

The most perfect free popcorn plus drinks poured with love and any sport ya like on the TV Pool, darts, cheap beer on tap.

I guess that's a full pitcher.

Employees are rude. Not worth a visit. Bouncer and bartender treated us with zero respect.

Darts, pool, free popcorn, lots of seating, and an outdoor area (people just kind of chill and smoke there).

Everything I've tried is delcious…read more Some dishes have smaller serving sizes than I'd expect, and others have way more than I would have expected. It's pretty small, which lends to a warm and noisy ambiance which is nice to feel a little cozier and livelier in the winter months. If it's busy time and there's no outdoor seating I'd say go for a reservation if you want to go for dinner. I have tried their late night menu but to be honest I was imbibed and my enhoyment may have been stilted because I was quite hungry! My friend got their like short-term speciality cocktail of a garlic bread martini, and it was actually good?!? I was expecting it to be repulsive but they even did that well. Staff is really sweet, met the man who either owns it or manages it and chatted with him for a while and he was really kind. All are excellent even when they are busy.

I so wanted to love the Tavern…read more Its a pub disguised as a restaurant. Though it does say Tavern in its name. First give away its not a restaurant -- they have no coffee or tea? None? Even a good pub has good tea. Next the noise level was about that of Park Square station at rush hour. You had to yell to be heard, and I am not deaf. Service was decent but certainly not great. Most of us had the baked cod with lentil and fennel. You received about 2 ounces of lentils and a bit of over cooked and tasteless fennel. The fish was decent though would have been better with a solid crumb topping. Pricing is aggressive even for Brookline. I would certainly come back for a beer with friends. I would not recommend sitting down for dinner.

We went on a Saturday afternoon, and several different games were being played on the many giant TVs on the walls (3 different college football games, a soccer game, and Cartoon Network). The highlight here was the food. It was reasonably priced, not too greasy, and delicious. Special shoutout to the glazed Brussels sprouts (sweet, crispy, and soft on the inside) and the chicken tenders tower (crispy, tender, and a fun presentation). A lowlight here was how our drinks kept almost falling off the table. It was nice that the tables were smooth instead of sticky, but we soon learned that all drinks should be kept on tables that weren't slanted at all, since they kept slipping towards the edge.

Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. We ordered the chicken tender tower and split it between 3 people which was more than enough - the tenders were so crispy, loved the fries and large quantitiy, dips were all fantatstic, and loved the fun presentation. I also had a apple cider donut downeast which they served with a sugar rim - so good!! Had such a great time and hope to come back and try other things :)

There was like three or four customers just a bartender working so you have to cover the whole place. The menu is basically everything is à la carte but everything is very affordable. Total bar food but we got a veggie quesadilla that was actually delicious and I got the cowboy burger, which was great and my friend Tammy got a steak and a chicken taco, she liked them both very much. The server was very attentive. He made sure everything went well. The only reason they don't get five stars is we ordered a quesadilla as an appetizer and when we got our main courses he had and brought it because he forgot to order it. It was apologetic. He was super nice, but you know, obviously it's hard for a bartender to do everything but I would recommend anyone go through in the neighborhood and just want a cheap eat or a place to get a quick drink.

The $7 side of fries (that I had to order separately) wouldn't have been enough for the pigeons hanging out at the table next to us, let alone an adult human. My friend's chicken tenders took an hour to come out and we were told the first batch was sent to the wrong table. When they did show up the waiter who dropped them off basically threw them at the table, not even serving the correct person. The tenders were also burnt, almost to the point of being inedible and the "side of celery" is one piece. The drinks are fairly priced and decent for the cost, but that's really the only good thing i have to say after this experience.
