I've always been intrigued watching the cars & trucks auctioned . The sellers can be government & municipal vehicles , charity donations , government police seizures . Some vehicles have reserve prices that must be met to seller said vehicle. You must pay taxes & fees based on sales price & other added fees that add up but probably similar but different from a dealership . You must register & put a deposit to bid . If you fail to perform on a winning bid your charged 14% of your winning bid . Fridays score the Saturday auctions you may view & start the card only . That said there's some good deals & " duds " both if guess . They also auction miscellaneous items ,store returns & more. Totally ripped us off and shady company changed the terms of the auction! NEVER BID WITH THEM!!! Purchased from an auction with terms that said "3 day load out" and we have screen shots! Well they stated that it was actually a "2 day load out" When I spoke to management they said "they would NOT look at terms or emails" they called me a "liar" They charged me and told me I couldn't have my items! I ended up having to call Proxibid for the correct auction terms....Proxibid screenshot that shit and we contacted Sierra to let them know I was correct. Sierra told me they needed more detailed screenshots so I called Proxibid back and they notified me that Sierra changed the terms of the auction after it ended within an hr of talking to me. We bid on a white Nissan Maxima recently. It was moved to the non-op section after our initial inspection. During initial inspection it started fine. 2nd inspection we saw that someone added additional mechanical issues to where it was put in non op section. We won the bid and went to haul it out this morning. The key fob was cut from the cable on the steering wheel and one of the front windows was left open. All Sierra could say is whoever did this will get in trouble?? It will cost us several hundred to replace the key. This is unacceptable. Please avoid this place. We suspect an employee wanted that car for a friend and we out bid them. So they retaliated? We were regular customers up until now. No more. We are done. Very unprofessional! read more

These guys screwed me over so bad. I buy a lot of equipment and vehicles from auctions, but this place has to be the worst at disclosing obvious issues with their inventory. *****Let me start off by stating that a large amount of their buyers are from out of state or too far away to do an inspection prior, so they strongly rely on the auction company to advertise appropriately. ****** My vehicle was labeled as running, but undeivable do to flat tires, which was technically true. They verified that it starts and runs, but did not disclose that the entire exhaust system was missing. If they started it, they knew this, because it's louder then a monster truck. This cost me $1400. Once the exhaust was done, it was quiet enough to actually hear the engine. The engine has a blown out spark plug, so it needs a major overhaul to repair the head damage. Lastly, the sensors and wiring underneath the vehicle was nicely tied up, so the exhaust was PURPOSELY REMOVED, and not stolen as the thieves would have cut all the wiring that was in the way. When picked up, they were hesitant to allow me to start my running vehicle, now I know why. These guys cost me thousands in repairs to maybe get an extra $500 in their pockets. I've tried calling several times, which now I think they've blocked my number, Trying to get my title. These guys are scammers to say the least. All vehicles that show up at this place end up being lemons that dealers cannot sell. They label the cars incorrectly and sell "running" vehicles that have major issues that cannot be determined upon a field inspection. I purchased what was supposed to be a running and driving car, to find out the catalytic converter was bypassed, 4th gear was bad, entire bumper was held on by two zip ties (fell off while transporting later). overall, I ended up paying about 3x as much due to these money hungry scammers. read more

Scammers! I made the mistake of purchasing a few cars here! They were ALL LEMONS! They resell dealer reject vehicles! I spent $4000 fixing a vehicle they said was in driving condition. It popped a dozen codes the second I drove it off the lot. Do not buy here unless you want to spend thousands repairing each vehicle! They also charge you SALES TAX AND $500-1000 in fees! These jerks will tell you that you can preview any vehicle and act totally innocent. The defects won't come up until they're driven! My experience with Sierra Auction has been very mixed. I have purchased about ten items in the past five years. Some have been exactly as described, some have not. However overall I would and will continue to purchase from them. I have never had any issued with customer service, and they have always been very cordial towards me. Can't give 5 stars because they only allow 3 days to pick up items and then reclaim them and still charge you. 3 days just not enough. It's pretty simple to see they just want to resell the items and make more money than make sure their paying customer actually receives the item. I spend a lot of money at Sierra Auction. They are always good to work with. Normally I am very pleased and totally understand the virtual aspect of the auction world. Sierra does not do a good job identifying the condition of what you are bidding on. In the virtual world this becomes so important. In addition to this they seem to always put the stickers in the worst places. I have had several pull the paint off and it happened again today. It's very disappointing when that ruins something that good money was spent on. It seems to me that this is probably not that unusual and that Sierra would know this is a potential issue and as policy they should place the stickers in a place that does not ruin the item when this happens. read more

Seems like a decent company and the employees are nice however, when bidding on vehicles, the rates or terms of payment are outrageous and steer people away from bidding on the items. An example are the taxes 8.6% plus the tiered buyers premium and the additional 3% for credit or debit card purchases along with the additional 2% for god knows what. It is a bit excessive and I think if you didn't spend so much time nickel and diming people that folks would be more inclined to bid. Take a note from WSM. read more

We discovered their Surplus Auctions in Phoenix & Tucson when looking for a place to consign a vehicle for sale. We're sort of new to auctions (other than eBay), but for us (in 2020), Sierra Auctions is the best of the two companies we follow. WOW! They have a great selection and always some very interesting items, with property auctions about twice a month. Values are extremely fair and you can score some amazing deals (steals!!!) in jewelry, small appliances, tech stuff like Laptops, iPads, smart watches & bluetooth speakers, plus other stuff you didn't even know you needed. So far, we've been surprised and pleased that items purchased are often even better in reality than the pictures were able to show. That's important, since we usually can't make time for a preview before bidding. What really sets them apart, though, is the after-sale customer care, and these guys are GREAT! Their staff is friendly, efficient, and professional, and they've been wonderful about letting us make arrangements when we need to get stuff back to Tucson (they have a site in Tucson, too; that's where we first discovered them.. while checking out car auctions). You are correct Anthony B buyer remorse for sure, but again this vehicle should have never been listed as a running vehicle and your auctioneer should have never talked it up like it was a great maintenanced vehicle because that is definitely not the case at all. I have been buying for about 10 years in person, but with COVID they ran the most recent sale through the ProxyBid website (no onsite bidders). I was the high bidder at $950 for a Toyota Prius in the pre-bid auction. Once the timed auction started the bid jumped straight from $950 to $2000, I bid $2100, then going once! twice! Sold!!! The Website had a pop-up window said congratulations you won. I was a little miffed because there was no explanation why it doubled in price with no other bidding? Many times I see the price jump to clear everything in the que, then back out and bidding start much lower. This way the bidder will be bidding against himself and not realize it. Seems dishonest. But I am use to it, assumed that is why this jumped to $2K. I made arrangements for a local driver to travel to Tucson to pick it up, he skipped another job for it. I never got the invoice so I checked in with Proxibid it still listed it as a won item. I called and the employee said "no, you didnt win, the reserve is for $3.8K." If I had known that price, I would not have wasted a day and another guys day. They really wasted a lot of my time and seemed upset that I wanted a better explanation as to why the website still says I won but they are claiming it is not won. So we are now 3 days later the website still says I won the car, I wasted a drivers time and I am not likely to bid on one of these sales in the future. read more
