Wow! This store is amazing and is like a Marshalls on steroids!! They have a huuuge selection of clothes, shoes, home goods, etc for great prices!!! I already have enough winter clothes but good to know this is somewhere I can go if I need any. My husband got a winter thermo shirt and it's sooo soft and it was under $17! This location has a large selection. Some items at the Novi store are not sold here and vice versa. It's fun looking around for deals. They have a lot of clearance items throughout the store. Way more than Novi! read more

Sierra Is a really convenient and affordable outdoor recreation store. They carry exercise equipment, apparel, and footwear. There's also a section for home decor. Most people will go to Home Goods, Bed Bath & Beyond or a similar store but this place really took sporting and home decor and threw it all in one. They're an extension of TJ max and it really feels like it. Their prices are very adorable, especially apparel. I always pick up some shorts or jogging pants at a decent price. I was also lucky to find a decently priced medicine ball after searching on Amazon and not being thrilled about the prices I saw. Sometimes you may have to do a little searching, but you're bound to find something you like. They're pet friendly so you'll often see people with their dogs walking throughout the store. The staff seem very friendly as well which is great. If ever you can't find what you're looking for you can always visit their website as well. Great place! read more

For the outdoor enthusiast who can't resist a good deal, Sierra Trading Post may make you weak in the knees. It's owned by the same company as TJ Maxx (TK Maxx, Europeans?), Marshalls and HomeGoods. All of these places put on a great treasure hunt for the shopper and you never know what will end up in your shopping bag! I stop here before all my camping trips, beach holidays and really..., any vacation. They've got clothes, shoes, sleeping bags, suitcases, cookware, etc. They've got larger gear too like kayaks and hammocks. All their items have a reduced price from the original retail price. One of my favorite aspects of the store is that they have a nice selection of dog treats, toys, jackets, beds AND your dog is welcome in the store to shop with you! I bring my dog with me on many of my trips and he knows exactly where the dog aisle is!!! So, shop on for all family members :D read more

I went the day after they opened and I'm a fan FOR SURE. Think of it as TJ Maxx for the outdoorsey active set. It's like the REI Garage sale...at all times! Not surprisingly, the majority of the stock is clothing, and they carry casual wear, outdoor wear, and active wear for both men and women as well as kids. Right now they had a nice selection of swimsuits to boot. Brands include Marmot, Patagonia, Reebok, Addidas and more. Really nice stuff and the average price was around $20 for an item. Coats and such from Marmot ran a bit higher but still significantly marked down from the regular price. They also have a huge shoe section featuring sandals, casual shoes, running and trail running sneakers as well as hiking shoes and boots. And they carry really great brands like Merrill, Saguaro, Keen and more. Hiking shoes/boots can get really expensive but most of theirs are in the $50-$120 range which isn't bad for the quality and durability of the shoe. They also sell outdoor gear like sleeping bags, tents, camping equipment like food and gear, fishing poles and supplies, even dog gear like life jackets and safety vests. Canoes, kayaks, hiking poles and backpacks, yoga mats and more are also easily found here. Snacks like trail mix and granola bars pepper the line up to the check out for last minute needs to boot. Can't find your size or what you're looking for? They also have a kiosk with a hook up to their website where you can search for more sizes and items from their online stock. The store itself is huge and so far really clean and well organized. I definitely am excited to keep my eye on their stock in the coming months and look forward to having easier access to cheaper outdoor gear as we get into our summer travel/hiking season! read more

Pros: Clean and easily navigable. Great reductions on certain items. Eclectic selection of pet supplies. If you're a shopper and know your prices this may be your place. Cons: If you're a browsing shopper who likes to look at all Woolrich, for example, you will leave confused. Items on hangers are literally jammed together on looong racks reminiscent to me of thrift shops. Very hard to take an item off the rack completely then return it into the compressed rack. Doing this from a walker (not to mention a wheelchair) adds a dimension of unexpected difficulty. Not REI or Cabela's at all. LIttle order on the racks other than categories of size. Third quality. I do understand the attraction and appeal, yet it's not for me. read more

This place is a bit of a mess... and I guess that's what you expect when you go to these types of places (other examples include Ross, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods), but it really does drive me crazy. Sure, you can find a good deal, but I just don't really like shopping enough to spend the amount of time and digging that it takes to find said deal. What a great addition to the West side Ann Arbor! TJ Maxx Corp made a smart decision to buy Sierra Trading Post online. It's an outdoor retailer with similar merchandise as REI, however, as you'd guess, the prices are much lower. The downside with lower prices, of course, is less knowledgeable staff and more strict return policies. Although I saw slightly less inventory than REI, a manager spoke with me and said they're looking to keep the store organized and have overstock merchandise in the back. It's definitely a fair deal to me, because I know exactly what I need. There's a descent selection of top brands like Patagonia, H/H, OR, Arc'teryx... Also camping, kayaks, cycling, fishing, and fitness gear. They have a really pretty knife display set up like a Tiffany jewelry counter-- you know, for the special outdoorsy man in your life! PRO tip: they're selling Manduka Pro and Lite mats for like 40% off retail which only happens once/twice a year at Manuka.com. Pretty sure it won't come with a lifetime guarantee (need to verify) but it's still a killer deal for an amazing yoga mat. TLDR: clean store, low price outdoor gear, YAY!!! read more

Basically what they lack in customer service they make up in deals. This place is REI meets TJ Maxx, nothing makes this more known than the "home" section that they have. This is a great place to shop if you know what you are looking for but if you have more technical questions I would go to a place like Moosejaw or Bivouc. I still can't get over some of the deals though. I saw Goretex jackets for $120, over half off top of the line hiking boots, and a great selection of clothing brands at good prices. It was hard to restrain myself and I will definitly be back. read more

It is ok, I found nice things but the last 3 or more times we went in, they did not really have many sizes of clothes or shoes in stock and their adult clothing runs very small too and I usually wear a medium or large maybe close in their clothin which again they rarely have what I liked in stock. Liked the shoes they had just none in a 6-6.5 which is a waste of time to keep coming to check. This store is going to flop if they can't keep a decent stock in of anything. It has potential maybe.. but I don't see myself coming back for more disappointment and wasting time only to find out nothing is in stock again. The workers are nice at least read more
