Have wanted to go to Sid's for years but always opted for something close to home, and living near Mid-Town OKC there are so many options. We called a friend in Yukon and invited him to join us at Sid's. We arrived at Sid's around 5 p.m. and there were no open tables. The venue is small with maybe six four tops and a bar. We were at the bar for mabe 10 minutes when a table opened up. Sid's is a throwback to an earlier era and is the embodiment of the slogan, "Get Your Kicks On Route 66" it's a fun venue! I ordered the orginial onion burger. Jan ordered chicken fried sandwich, and Ken ordered the coney. We chose onion rings as our side. My onion burger was outstanding, a 5/5. Jans's chicken fried sandwich was OK. She gave it a 3.5/5. Ken was very happy with his coney and gave it a 5/5. The onion rings were good. I'd give them a 4/5. The atmosphere is great, the food good, the service good. The prices moderate. We had a great time at Sid's!

I had seen this place advertised years ago on man versus food. I just happened to be stopping in this town and stayed overnight there. I had a couple of the onion burgers and the Frito pie. It's a good thing that I don't live close by as I would probably blow my life savings eating at this place. I would also weigh twice as much as as I do and probably die an early death. Having said that, I definitely will stop here again when I am in the area. I would love to try some of the other things on the menu. Very friendly people in a great diner atmosphere.

LOOOOOOVED this place!! Reminded me a lot of STEAK N SHAKE. Great onion rings and an orange shake, and a great burger... They have Elvis music playing. How can you not love it?! Loved the old photos and memorabilia...

Recent visit was really good. Crowded but waited for a table next to entrance door. Was a little chilly when someone opened it. Maybe consider building in a better entrance. Cheese burger with bacon added, was perfect this time. Waiter talked us in ordering a half order of fries but wish we had done a whole. Lol, guess he didn't know how hungry we were. Love it when a meal goes well.

Just a good old fashion onion burger with fries and an old fashion coke.

As great as the reviews say! So glad to make the trip to El Reno and finally eat an onion burger here. So GLAD we made a reservation in advance, as they were busy busy. The onion burger itself was truly as good as they can get, really good. Fries were hot and yummy. The atmosphere was awesome too. You can't go wrong here, Tuckers is fine but this place is the best.

Famous and iconic and let me tell you, well worth the visit. Sid's has been in multiple shows on the Food Network. Been around for 50 years or more. Burgers are fresh and made to order. They are famous for their onion burgers but you won't be disappointed with the chili cheese coney either. They have fresh cut fries and onion rings that are delicious. You might want to get a little froggy and hit them at breakfast. The staff is super friendly. When you drive through El Reno, you get a very nostalgic vibe, that vibe is only enhanced when you walk in to Sid's. With pictures of veterans and celebrities all over the walls, you get a very Americana feel. Do yourself a favor and make the drive El Reno. You won't regret it.

Sid's is the definition of a nostalgia meal. They have an old fashion greasy diner style burger which I love, but you have to have these types of meals in moderation... or at least you should! Everything came out piping hot and the portions were generous (except for the onion rings, they should include more in an order). You can easily why Sid's is a local staple in the El Reno community.

In our continuing quest to find the best breakfast place on our x-country trip, Sid's just might be "the one". Reminiscent of past trips w Unabelly. Sid's is on the smallish side, but packs a big punch. Adam is the short order cook/owner. His grandfather was Sid. My best friend, Orange Slice, and I both ordered Sid's special. Two eggs, hash browns. Choice of meat (we both ordered ham), and toast or pancake. Angelica, our server, was efficient effective, affable. Large portions, the ham tasted sugar-cured, OS's pancake was gone in three forkfuls. Coffer was $1,50 so they lost money on OS. Decor really cool. Very old pics of vets on the wall. Nice music playing. If Yelp allowed for more than 5 stars, Sid's would qualify.

1 order of French Fries and a Peanut Butter Shake sitting behind it :)

FAMILY'S "GO TO" for THEE OKLAHOMA ONION BURGER!!! I mentioned to our family from Mustang, OK if they knew a good place to hit, to wow us with the famous Onion Burger of Oklahoma. I mentioned a few places, however, all my brother in law had to say was, "I gatchu Dave." Spoken confidently with a wink and a smile... well, ain't gonna argue with that lol. So, off we went to El Reno, OK. Not to Oklahoma City mind you, cuz nobody there knows how to do it right in the big city! Nope! El Reno, sight of the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889, is also the spot for THEE best Oklahoma Onion Burger. There's a few grills to choose from in this town, but we planted our butts at Sid's Diner! Street parking is plentiful however the diner itself is TINY and the place is packed already at 10:30am Saturday morning. That whiff of grilled onions when you open that diner door though... INTOXICATING! Gets the rumbly tummy activated! Luckily, there is an annex with big tables, air conditioning and an order screen, which made it very convenient for our party of 8 to sit together. Okay... let's EAT! KING DOUBLE: Now THIS was truly A BIG BOY!!! A whole pound of meat with caramelized onions, undistracted by cheese, lettuce or tomatoes (which you can add, if you so choose). Just a little drizzle of mustard and ketchup. I tell you what... this was a handful, a mouthful, and an absolute pleasure to devour! This grease bomb was so flavorful with the smashed patty charred to perfection and grilled onions galore spilling over. I loved every bite of that monstrosity and I'd do it AGAIN in a heartbeat! CONEY DOG: Compared to the King Double, this was pretty timid. Definitely for smaller appetites. Just a regular sized hot dog waiting for you underneath the chili. Not chintzy with chili though which was very tasty. I did like the relish drizzle on top, it added a nice sweetness to it. FRITO CHILI PIE: I ENJOYED this with my King Double! Comes as Chili smothering a heap of crunchy Fritos and then you add the shredded cheese and diced onions to your liking. Me? I dumped it all in and in hindsight shoulda asked for more cheese, cuz I love me some cheese pull! The crunchy texture of the Fritos complimented the tastiness of the King quite well! Yummers :) TATER TOTS: Perfectly prepared tots! Crunchy outside, yet perfectly flaky within. However when compared to the size of the fries order, this was not Oklahoma Big. Did it spill out before it made it in to the bag??? Guess we'll have to come back to compare lol FRENCH FRIES: One order... Huge! Not crispy like McDonald's but that's okay with me. This had more flavor and can easily be shared between 2 people. It still tasted good as it cooled down too. PEANUT BUTTER SHAKE: I asked for extra peanut butter and I sure got it. It was a flavor explosion with every mouthful! And it was thick enough that the straws provided would collapse if you sucked too hard. The cups for the shake were tall so definitely an ample serving to enjoy the whole meal! VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! Nom Nom Level is HIGH! We will absolutely ask for a return visit to Sid's when we come back to Oklahoma! This stuff was... GUUUUUD!!!

What a fantastic place to grab an iconic Onion Burger. I can't believe that I have lived in Oklahoma for 25 years and I am just now finally getting to taste the Original Oklahoma Onion Burger!!! All I can say is don't wait this is a must try place to eat. One thing I did find out is that you can actually make a reservation!! I would definitely do that! Instead as you enter the restaurant you will notice the seating is limited on the inside. There is a covered seating area/pavilion which you can also place your order from! We are provided with a pager to let us know we're next in line. Our wait was probably 5 minutes so not long. While waiting we had an opportunity to review the menu. Our server was Abby and she was great and very easy to talk too! It was easy for me, I chose the 1/2 lb onion burger with everything on it. Onion rings as the side were fantastic. Thick & crispy!! I decided I wanted to try their shakes so I asked if they had a Banana & Cherry which I've never had. A great combo!! My wife chose the Steak & Shake along with fries. She got the chocolate shake - another good selection! One note to mention if you like your fries crispy do not order them crispy. Get them cooked like the normally come and they will be perfect! Overall highly recommend to put this in your must places to try!

Will they serve burgers during breakfast hours?

According to their website they serve a hamburger steak and a chicken fried steak. So, a modified hamburger with a breakfast twist.

Small cozy café with your typical diner feel…read more This was our first time in and we were super excited to try this place out. When we came in the, the only booth available was right next to the restroom. Not always a problem, but they had so much of that bathroom air freshener that it was completely overwhelming. You couldn't stand to sit there let alone try to eat a meal through it so we asked to be moved to a different table. Our waiter, cleared a table,... And seated someone else at it. He did this twice. So we went back to remind him that he was going to move us. He didn't seem too thrilled about it, but we finally did get a table away from the toilet. It took him 25 minutes to take our order. And then we never saw him again. We had to flag two other waiters down to get coffee refills. Now the food. We all ordered the two egg breakfast. One had scrambled eggs and three with eggs over medium. First, the orders came back with scramble so we had to send them back. They brought the eggs back, but they were not over medium, they were over hard. Not what anyone wanted, but we ate them. I will say that none of our food was hot , not even the plates. The plates were handed to us right to our hands so they didn't really even try to warm anything. Several of us ordered grits and that was a joke. There was literally 4 tablespoons of grits. I would barely call that a side dish. The best thing about our experience was that the coffee was blazing hot and that was great... If you could only get a refill without having to hunt down a waiter. Service was one. I'm giving the review of three because the food didn't taste bad but I would've preferred it Hot and cooked properly. Maybe next time...?

What went well?!? Everything!!!!…read more Service, atmosphere, and food all out of this WORLD good!!! What an incredible group of people and food that is truly outstanding. As someone who travels for a living and eats a lot of good food, I can tell you this place is the complete package!! My partner looked it up and there were 4.9 stars out of 3,400 reviews on Google and they weren't lying! We walked in and were immediately greeted and sat. Our waitress was right behind the hostess and got our drinks and a welcome/first time in cinnamon roll (holy smokes!!!) Of course I couldn't not try it (even though we are eating healthy!) and it didn't disappoint. Especially that ooey gooey middle bite. Soooo good!!! We combed the menu and settled on the Philly steak omelet (maybe Philly cheesesteak omelet? And the California omelet. Both were cooked homestyle egg wise (so the thinner egg, no fake fluff in it!) and they were PACKED with goodies! I ate the Philly and my partner had the California. Both were fantastic but I do believe the Philly was the best. I got biscuits and gravy and sourdough toast. I really didn't need any sides. The omelet was perfect and filled me up. I did taste the biscuit and it was lovely, warm, and soft. With a beautiful finish to it. Their cream gravy was perfect. (Just know the gravy isn't sausage gravy). Orlando came around and greeted us several times to make sure we were happy. We talked about all of their other food options. Everything sounded amazing. Then when we were about to leave, Orlando brought us a burger to try! It was everything he said it would be. It was on a ciabatta bun, and the meat was beautifully seasoned and well cooked. Our server was attentive and so sweet. Everything about this place screams family, love, and good food! We will ABSOLUTELY be stopping again.

We were hungry, but also had our little pooch with us and wanted outdoor seating. We passed this place with a cute sign and patio seating in the shade and thought we would try it out. I turned around and went back and we were very happy that we did. It was a hot day but pleasant in the shade. Everyone was nice. They brought out a bowl of water for our dog. We each had a Stray Dog Combo upgraded to fries instead of chips, very good. To me, this is very much what Route 66 is all about, the independent mom-and-pop place serving good food at reasonable prices, and not the typical stuff you find back home. Fun and tasty and would like to stop here again the next time we drive through.
